"its Makin' Me Dizzy! My Head Is Spinning...like A Whirlpool, It Never Ends!"
About the rest of your post: I made a decision not to tell my Mom (Mum, lol) and I don't regret it. But mine is a bad ending anyway - my Mom passed away a week after my surgery. Had I told her I know I would have spent the rest of my life wondering if I had worried her to death. She was 58 and it was totally unexpected. ...I kind of have a good hold on that but the actual removal of stomach; the pain of recovery;... Even if you do don't be harsh on yourself if it slips a little. It is ok to freak out. It is OK to look at your stomach and cry. It is OK to have moments that take your breath away when you realize you will not interact with food the same again, and that you will not interact with people and food the same again. This will decrease for most us of as we concentrate on fixing our demons, and slowly realizing the change is not crazy-drastic. People do not tend to remember the bad as much as they do the good. It is a good-ol scientific fact. It is one of the reasons why they offer medication sometimes to people with photographic memories - if we remebered all the bad, it would overwhelm. Imagine remembering every bellyache, every cut finger, toothache - every off word or deed!!! So we forget, and we remember good AND we all work at a subconcious level to actually make things less than they were - even if we can remember the importance of the event...What I aim to get at there is you will eventually - and not too far off, if you step up and deal with your issues (we all have them) you will look back and the crazy monumental feelings will still have importance and depth - but will be "normal" for you. The change will feel lessened, and eventually you will recall but not feel very connected to the old you. My best example may not be for everyone but I have been with my Hubby since 1999. It seems he has always been there - so has the farm and his family - even when I have had a chance to be with friends that are pre-hubby I feel as if he is in there somewhere. You will feel that way about you new life, new healthy choices, exercize and hopefully an active lifestyle. I was self pay, and I walked into the doctor's office with an offer of cash across the board - which made it crazy easy to get the surgery - and I really suprised them that I still wanted the names of the nut, the counselor, etc - although I had been going to a nut for my diabetes, a counselor abotu 3x a year for diet and "burn-out" on the diabetic lifestyle, etc. I urge you to get a support system going as soon as you can - please. If you cannot find one take the initiative and create one. I would hope that with it being as common as it is you could reach out to many needful people. You really spiked my curiosity about the pain management. But if it were very verily shhhh I guess you wouldn't mention it in the first place...like govermental? M16, M15??? GCHQ? DIS? Lol - don't get the conspiracy nerd in me going. There are very good ways to self-manage pain. I learned a few myself after a really bad incident, and more when I took them with a friend dying of cancer. They helped physical pain - but also emotional pain.

Lol - not saying that you should do anything illegal but if you were in California and you could use weed, I definately would not smoke it - I would (theoretically) get a vaporisor, or put it in cholocate milk made of half and half. THC (i learned about this in California :/ ) is most potent in a fatty mixture - else u loose most of it. But it is a drug, legal, illegal, whatever - and yo should really be aware of how it would affect you - especially related to your mental health and any, any, any meds you are already on. Mo codine in the UK? I never needed to know that, but that is scary! What do they do for people with pneumonia and such, if morphine and codine are banned? SEE - I knew there was a reason I don't go abroad anymore!

I Am Not Understanding....
whether or not you go with a low/high or inbetween carb level - and chances are you may do all more than once - knowing what to look for is very important in regards to getting what you need out of your selections. Especially diabetics. In my opinion diabetics should not go by a low/high carb choice. Moderation and continuous testing as the pounds come off are key. I was diabetic for 5 years - it is always in the back of my head!

carbs vs. net carbs are what you are looking for, and sugars. for example, Kroger candied yams: 210 calories for 1/2 cup serving total carbs 51g Fiber 1g sugars 43 g kroger mixed veggies, canned 40 calories for 1/2 cup serving total carbs 7g fiber 2g sugar 3g looking past the obvious difference in calories, the yams have 51 total carbs, and only 1g fiber - so your net carbs is 50g - that is 50g that basically your body will and or can use for energy. only 1g can be used to help "flush' your system and counter the 43g sugar! he mixed veggies have a high sugar to total carbs ratio, however, you have a much higher total carbs to fiber ratio. the sugars, at 3g for 1/2 cup is nominal. Did that help? lol

From One Addiction To Another
I don't have time to read all the responses but about the cards: Your FICO score is based inpart on your available credit AND how much you are using. Closing a card will almost always lower that score if you have a balance. But again too many cards with open balances can be an issue too. Answer:just don't use them. Really. Truly. No your miles don't add up to enough to matter, no you don't get as much back as you think. A zero balance card can be bad too. if you have zero on the card and a 15000$ limit that is 15000 you could run up quickly - and most of us that is a bit of our income, and affects potential debt. When you stop a card that has a balance you have stopped a portion of available credit, and you nw have a balance. Yo uhave lessened credit available, and yes lowered the credit you could dip into, BUT you now have more of a debt/available income ratio. ZING Keep only cash. Keep small bills, make yourself SEE what you spend. If you must spend, go to consignment shops - but I would seek counseling - you have noticed it in time and recognized it enough to mention it here. Now get help - not for the shopping per say but for the fact that your eating issues were unresolved enough to start a crossover addiction. PS - as for the cards, you may want to consider moving the balances for specialty cards (never get a specialty card) like lane bryant over to a general use cc. Then close it at a zero balance. You can then focus on putting expenditures on the cc while also paying down more than you spend. It could get you in the 25 day zone, which is usually a grace period before you owe on the card. Good luck!

Seeking Gentle Core Strengthing Exercises
PIlates in my opinion may be less forgiving than yoga. I have been doing yoga for over 20 years so I am biased! here is a website I keep a very inexpensive subscription to to show friends and fam how to begin, to be abel to practice and the have bariatric yoga also: http://www.medicineyoga.com/index.php this is an OK review for the book 'yoga for wimps' - I do not like the new pic of someone stuffing their face - as if to imply this is for people who are lazy overeaters - because it isn't - could be, lol, but isn't. I am not saying buy it from here! It just has lots of info. There is a DVD also but I do not keep the dvd. http://video.barnesa.../e/743452186228 core exercizes are essential, and many things can still be done in modificaton as long as the modification stil supports the same muscles being used - remember at first core training seeks to make your brain remember how to do these things - you re-wire! like an older computer getting an upgrade - except you have no obsolete parts. Do not be afraid if you shake - literally or feel awkward. For the stand up exercizes utilize a finger or two on a chair or wall. If you need one-on-one help with yoga see if you can find an instructor that does free or donation-only yoga classes (If you can afford classses this is stil a great option. Donate what you would pay). I think alot of times these instructors are so overwhelmingly happy to assist someone in our position you get almost 1 on 1 care. Bariatric yoga is a newer term and it is gaining credibility fast. In a year you will be doing acro-yoga. I hope to be! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acroyoga I dislike wiki overall but decent info on acro yoga. PS - Even the most basic rotating of your hands and feet will help - never omit the small things! If you want more info let me know - I will help all I can.

Goal Weight Question
Depending on how much you have to lose and the little extras life throws at you, it is possible to still lose weight after a few years, but chances are either you or your body will create a stall. A stall further out is different than it is in the beginning. The more weight you lose the less "sitting" calories you will burn. So unless you have added activity to your lifestyle you will not burn much extra. Even then it has to be an active lifestyle, not a life with an activity in it. Another thing is I think many people hit that level that they would have anyway, but it is harder to slingshot back. You have no guarantee you will only consume 1000 calories a day...if you learn bad habits you could easily eat twice that much. I know a young lady that took 2 years to lose 45 lb...but she did it and eight years later it is still off. Who knew...
