  1. So I am about 4 1/2 months from surgery and since the day I returned home from the hospital I have become a workout junky...I started slow and now workout an 1 - 1 1/2 hours a day, I can do an hour on the elliptical with no problems, can run intermittently on the treadmill and my energy is through the roof, I couldn't have done any of this prior to surgery even though I use to workout some....I lift light weights on my off days from the gym and feel guilty if I miss one day of working out, go figure ...Since my surgery I have had no complications and easily get in 80g - 120g of protein daily, don't get me wrong I have not been perfect with my diet and was starting to get discouraged with only losing 63lbs since surgery, I thought I should have been losing it faster with all the working out I was doing.....I thought of something Lil Ms Diva said a while back which was to celebrate every pound and realize that this process is a journey (paraphrasing) but it was something to that effect...I can say I am happier and feel awesome....I give much props to my surgeon Dr. Nick Nicholson...to those of you starting your journey the surgery is worth it and definitely life changing! My stats below haven't been updated current weight: 248 lbs.
  2. Tomorrow...best thing I ever did!
  3. I had surgery with Dr Nick but at Baylor Plano (great hospital): 1. 2-days due to horrible nausea but I was aware that could happen. I was given Lovanox, Phengran and Ativan. The Ativan is what actually quailed the nausea. Dr. Nick visited with me before and after surgery. 2. My mother was with me so she kept all my personal items but the hospital provides lockers. 3. Yes I had a drain and an On Q-pump (medicine that goes into incision site). Both were removed prior to me being discharged. 4. You will be prescribed liquid Loratab & an PPI. Overall I had a great experience with Dr. Nick. The first few days are rough but stay focused on your goals and you will get through it. I had little to no pain pain after the 11th day. Walk as much as you can as soon as you can, trust me it helps tremendously. I have lost 45lbs and tons of inches (have not updated ticker) since 1-23-12 day of my surgery. I workout 5-6 days a week for at least an hour. If the scale rules you put it away, I weigh daily for my own accountability. You will stall but don't get discouraged stay the course and the weight will come off. You have the best surgeon in the DFW area (my opinion)! Good luck to you and enjoy the ride. It is by far the BEST thing I ever did. Katenna

  11. Same problem here works sparingly...I have to logout and back in which triggers me getting the welcome to vst emails even though I have been a member...
  12. I had one too and it was a tremendous help...
  13. Personally sounds like you are doing awesome but I understand not meeting your personal expectations...
  14. I deleted app and downloaded again same issue...thus far I have received 5 emails from you today welcoming me to site...
  15. Alex I am having mucho problems with iPhone app...I keep getting the message, "you can't access private messaging system." I can't like anyone's post without logging out and back in then I get an email from you stating welcome vst.com...
