  6. Aww sorry to hear you won't be a sleever but I completely get it - if I had been denied I would have went for bypass too. Make sure you let us know how everything goes and that you are doing good - you are an honorary sleever!
  7. $17,000 a year I could see but not a month. Do you have an option to pick up insurance? You can do this when you have a life status change like losing coverage.
  8. I am anxious to hear what others have to say! I too am hoping mine will be good soon!
  9. I haven't gotten sick, I am 10 days out, fluids are getting easier by the day! I don't get to switch to stage 2 until 2 weeks.
  10. I had to quit the meds, it's a vicious cycle you can't get fluids in or walk if you are asleep which means it will take longer to feel better!! I am taking chewable junior tylenol - completely worth it if they will let you do it and avoid the liquid nasty tylenol. I am 10 days out and the walking is the only thing that got rid of my gas.
  11. glad to hear things are going so well!! It is hard to sleep in the hospital!
  12. Yay!!! Congrats on your day! What a great start with that 41 lbs lost!! That is so awesome about your grandma keeping a scarpbook!

  14. I'm down 6.4 - surgery on the 8th. I hear alot of people say "I lost a pound a day" - well if you look at my 6.4 I sure haven't but let me say that is 6.4 since 8/13, the first day I showed a loss. So that's pretty good - I am happy with it! Looking forward to onederland in 7 lbs!
  15. spiritus - I added you Mama and Wine - me too - a whole month (ok, 4 weeks but still!!) So excited!! Of course I have been doing very little and am a week and a half in to it...
  16. when our journey seems so long it is good to look back and recount the things we have learned in that time, that if our journey had been short we would not have learned or been as prepared. Congrats on being close to the beginning of your new life!!
  17. I am able to count all fluids toward water intake as long as they are caffeine free, no carbonation, sugar free. I count my decaf coffee, my light lemonade, diet cranberry juice just to name a few. I am also allowed to count my protein at this point to total my 64 oz.
  18. what is your username on myfitnesspal? Send me a friend request I am Karibrenmom - it has helped me a lot to see what others are eating.
  19. added to official
  20. I wondered about the whole carbonated beverage thing myself and was thinking that diet soda surely isn't bad. I talked to a friend who had RNY about 6 years ago and she told me she went back to diet and thats when she started to regain!! I was shocked! So I will be steering clear. I broke caffeine before surgery so I really want to stay away from it altogether, it had it's hold on me for YEARS and no more!!!
  21. walking helps the gas tremendously!
  22. Her grandma passed away very recently so she is rescheduling - hoping to be sometime in September.
  23. my left lower incision which appears to be the largest feels numb and tingly around it. it is definitely the most tender.
