January 2012 Sleevers!
I'm doing pretty well. Down 44lbs and starting to comfortably get into my next size down clothes. I'm wearing a dress today I haven't worn for at least 4 years. I'm not going to bother shopping until I drop a few more sizes. I have enough clothes through size 14. I've been a total slacker when it comes to exercise! Baaaad girl. I need to get my fanny back on the treadmill and dug up my five factor fitness book that has a six day exercise program included. It's pretty simple- three exercises per day in addition to cardio. I need to get inspried! My giggly belly and arms should be enough to inspire me... Not drinking with my food is sooo hard and getting in all the Vitamins and meds - I feel like I need a schedule: 7am- thyroid, 7:15-7:30 - coffee, 7:45 - yogurt, 8:15 - start drinking a 20 oz drink, 8:45 - actigall #1 for the day. I can't keep track half the time! I've had some moody days too - days when I just want to crawl up and read all day. Thank goodness my mom takes my son quite often on Saturday so I get a day to just be alone. Overall, doing pretty well and very happy I made this choice for myself. Best thing I've done other than have my son and have lasic surgery! =)

Any Regrets?
I don't regret a thing, especially not the 44lbs I've lost. The hardest part for me is not being able to eat as much as I'd always like to at any given time. Sounds dumb because that's WHY I had the surgery, but sometimes I'd just love to dig into some comfort food and it's just not in the cards any more. I'm still new to this (2 months out) and still adjusting, learning but I don't regret anything at all. Not being able to drink with food is hard for me too.

Weight Going Down, But Not Pants Size Not So Much
Oh I feel your pain! I'm down from 268 to 224 and the last 8lbs have been the difference between 20 & 18 for me. Most of my 18s are tight and I prefer to wear my clothes on the loose side. I've also had a baby since I was last a size 18 and my shape is different so they fit different than before. I have some XL pants that fit again too. I can't believe that 40+ lbs are barely a size but I was TIGHT in my size 20s. I'm still happily wearing my 2x shirts although some are obviously too big. So I have 20s that are huge, some that are comfy, some 18s that are tight, some 18s that are good and some XL pants that fit. Some of these ranges are within the same brands too!

My First Weigh In
I've been on levothyroxine since my son was barn and I'd been taking OTC thyroid supplement for a couple years before that and I'm loosing at what I consider a decent rate. I too hope my thyroid gets a boost with the weight loss. I'd love to go off it someday!

5 1/2 Weeks Post Op Having Some Issues!
That's the case with me too - if I eat too much and/or too fast it'll slime up on me. I have to be really careful with how quickly I eat (meaning I don't take the time to chew enough) and every so often the eating too fast causes me to eat too much. Any combo of those two will make me slime up - ewwww!

I'm 8 weeks out and my knees don't hurt and I can actually run after my son. It's pretty great.

Damn Was I Really That Big?
You look amazing! I just printed our pictures from vacation and comparing them to the pictures of me from vacation a year ago is wild. I actually wanted to be in pictures this year on vacation so I know there's a change! Great work - you look fantastic.

7 Weeks Check Up!
You go girl! I think I'm 8 weeks out and down 42lbs as well. I have lots of clothes to shrink back into so hopefully I can avoid shopping for a while. I think I'm good through size 14 although I may need some tops. My body is so different now because I've had a baby so things fit very different than they did on the way up. I'm thicker in the area between my hips and bellybutton line.

Is My Body Just Done?
I don't have any advice to offer but I'm so excited for you that you've gotten down as low as 140 at 5'7"! I'm about the same and I can't even imagine weighing 140! Good luck to you to get to where you want for your wedding though!

January 2012 Sleevers!
MTC - I totally know how you feel! The little things really set me off sometimes too. I was stuck at 231 for what seemed like forever and came back from vacation down to 229. Today it's 226! When I went to update my ticker, my last update was at 233. I panicked for a minute because I after I weighed I had in my head I weighed 236 and was disappointed to see 233 on my ticker. I had to go back and weigh again to confirm that I was in the 220s! I haven't been in the 220s since 2006!

The start of eating solids is tough. I'm about seven weeks out and am doing better with real food but it's still hard sometimes. If I'm eating a desne protein- any meat, even deli meat, I really need to stick with 1/3 cup. The mushy foods - yogurt, cottage cheese go through quick and I've eaten as much as a cup of cottage cheese across the course of an hour or so. The hardest thing for me is not drinking when I eat. I'm learning though! Good luck and congratulations on your surgery!

Hair Loss
I'm dreading this myslef. My hair is fine and I don't have tons. I feel like it hasn't come back entirely after the post-partum shed back in 2009! My surgeon says there's nothing you can do. It usually starts around 3-4 months out from surgery and lasts 3-4 months. Then, your body starts to grow it all back. People talk about taking Biotin and other supplements but I've heard these just cause more hair where you don't necessarily want it thicker and the difference on the head isn't much if at all.

What Are The Foamies?
Oh you'll know it when you get it! For me it's been triggered by eating too fast and not chewing enough and by random foods that for whatever the reason the sleeve says "no" to that day. It feels like foam in your throat. If you get this feeling, my advice is just to go get rid of it! It's like a slime ball- totally gross and I don't usually throw up the food I ate, just the foam/slime ball. Best advice I can try and give is chew way more than you think you should, take lots of time between bites and stop eating before you feel full. These are all really hard to do sometimes- for me at least, I still struggle.

Calcium Question
Thanks all! I've done ok with pills so far. The Actigall is a pretty big capsule. I'm not sure if capsules go down easier than pills (after surgery - no difference to me before surgery)? After I get through these chews and gummies I think I'll give the petites a try.

Calcium Question
Hi All - is there a problem with taking calcuim in pill form? I'm tempted to buy the Citrical small tablets because I'm totally sick and tired of eating six gummy chews or six of the chocolate chews. I find myself skipping them and I know that's not good. Also, sorry, I know there's a Vitamin area down lower in the boards but it seems pretty quiet. Thanks!
