  1. They gave me pills at the hospital the next day. I've had no problem with pills, although I dislike the stuff that comes in clear capsules. They kinda want to stick to my innards.
  2. I was ALWAYS hot, slept under a sheet only with AC at 66 and ceiling fan on high. Waking up in the morning made me sweat profusely. Now, I am comfortable during the day, and sweat only upon exertion. However, at night I freeze to frickin' death. I pile on four blankets and shiver for a long while before I can get to sleep. And, wierdest of all, my body temp used to hover around 96.5 all the time. Now it is 98-something!
  3. I can't feel anything unusual at all. I had soreness the first week or so, but never could I feel my actual stomach or staple line!
  4. Awesome!! I picked my wedding weight (22 years) as my goal too.
  5. Sleeve of Steel, Is that latte store-bought or homemade? If homemade, would you mind sharing how you make that? Thanks!
  6. Are you talking about Monday and Tuesday of THIS week? I wouldn't consider two or three days of no loss a stall at all. I'm sleeved, 8 weeks out. Some days I lose a few ounces, every now and then I lose a pound overnight but not often, and sometimes there is no loss for several days. I'll bet almost everyone experiences something similar. Seems to be just the way it works.
  7. Meggie, I follow you on YouTube and cried this morning when I watched your surgiversary video. What a journey - and as I commented at You Tube a while ago, your journey convinced me that I too can do this, I am not too old to turn it around! Thanks for the inspiration.
  8. Hey, fellow Kentuckian! That's normal to feel excited and nervous at the same time. July does seem like a long time away! Use it wisely by reading all you can, mentally envisioning yourself in each stage post-op, planning and preparing for what you'll need and the changes you'll make. The time will fly by and first thing ya know it's all over.
  9. Looked at your Before and After pics... you look great!
  10. What binder?? Was yours an open procedure? Or laparoscopic? Mine was laparoscopic and there was no binder.
  11. My surgeon does not routinely do leak tests. He has extremely low complication rates, and he is very proud of his statistics. When I presented with a low grade fever that lasted several days, he ordered a leak test plus lots of bloodwork to rule out a leak and/or infection. I had neither, the cause of the fever was not determined, but it passed in a few more days and I am doing great 8 weeks out. It would not have been a deal breaker for me, all other things considered.
  12. I was never a volume eater, or a binge eater. I got fat eating sweets because I love sugar, preferably sugar mixed with fat! I guess I was addicted to the sugar rush. I'm 8 weeks out now and fortunately for me, I can't stand sweet anymore! Most folks say they eat for comfort or due to boredom. I can't say that was the case with me. Just loved sugar.
  13. I told and tell everyone! i don't give a dang what they say about me.
  14. I'm one of the unlucky ones who still feels a good deal of hunger. I too take the acid medicine, which helps minimally. Just plain hungry. Good news is the hunger doesn't do much harm when all it takes is a quarter cup to shut it up! I just make sure the quarter cup is low fat, low carb protein.
  15. Pre-op I already had quite a line-up of meds. Post-op, even more! I find getting all the meds in and in the right combinations to be far more of a challenge than getting enough Protein and fluids. My surgeon provided a long list of supplements with instructions to take this with that, avoid taking this within so many hours of that, and so on. Sheesh! I take doses of prescription meds plus supplements: upon wakening 2 hours later 10 a.m. 4 p.m 6 p.m. bedtime I use a 7-day organizer with 4 compartments for the doses to be taken at home. I also use a 2-compartment portable organizer for the 2 doses taken at work (10 a.m. and 4 p.m.). http://www.amazon.co...5701653&sr=8-22 http://www.amazon.co...35701589&sr=8-6 I have enough organizers to fix up 4 weeks at a time, as I despise the time-consuming detailed job. You may not need so much though.
  16. Really?? One of the unexpected blessings from my sleeve is that I DON'T burp and fart anymore!!
  17. So you are just over two months out and you are about 30 pounds down? That is a huge success! Some of those folks who lose significantly more in the beginning are likely more overweight than you. Everyone loses at a different pace. Surely your rate is better than pre-surgery? As an aside, I've been on this forum for a while now and have yet to see the first condescending remark.
  18. I thought it tasted horribly artificial and just way too salty. To add insult to injury (or to Unjury!), I emailed the company about the excessive sodium and got no reply. The unflavored was ok, but since the company did not bother to respond, I will not order Unjury again.
  19. You don't say how far out you are. I had trouble sleeping well the first three or four weeks. I'm six weeks out now and am sleeping much better. I always had to get up at least once at night to pee. Sometimes now I have to get up two or three times, probably due to all the fluids. But I go right back to sleep.
  20. Salsa on cottage cheese. Yum.
  21. I have been craving salmon patties, which I NEVER ate before!
  22. Yep, I'm in Frankfort, KY. There is a small group called Sleeved in the Bluegrass.
  23. I believe we would need more information about your eating habits. How much Protein, how many carbs, calories, Fluid intake, supplements, etc? Do you journal your intake? What does your doctor say? We'd love to help and offer suggestions, but more info is needed! Good luck on your journey.
