  1. I have found that it takes a while for our brains to catch up with the weight loss. We are so critical of ourselves. Comparing pictures is a great way to see it. Congratulations on the w eight loss so far! Keep it up!
  2. Phentermine cause me to develop mitral valve prolapse. With the band it is totally unnecessary if you eat the proper foods in the right amounts. Don't take risks with your health just to speed up the process. Remember, this is supposed to be a life style change, not a quick fix. Follow your doctors' advice and accept the slow and steady process. It will work if you WANT it to!
  3. The timing and amount of fill is for your doctor to decide based upon your feedback. It sounds like you have allowed your portion sizes to get far too larger. Are you eating protein first? The lap band works best with constant monitoring, so don't skip appointments. You need to see you doctor as soon as possible to discuss your situation.
  4. Most doctors offices have a staff person who is very knowledgeable about insurance. Call the office and ask to speak to them for your questions.
  5. If you spread your eating out over a long period you can eat forever. Stop yourself at the proper portion sizes. If you continue to feel hungry between meals talk to your doctor about a fill. The goal is not to eat until you feel full, just eat to feel satisfied.
  6. It sounds like you may me slightly too tight. I would discuss with the surgeon and consider a small unfill. Sometimes as little as 0.1 cc can make a huge difference. Please get yourseld checked out though. You want to be able to eat healthy foods.
  7. Lap Band is best thing that I ever did for my self. Don't waste time worrying about things that have not happened yet. Use that energy to plan your foods for post surgery. It will be much better spent that way. Worry means stress, and stress too often means eat for me. Try to avoid over focus on the potential negatives. The positives are so amazing! Best wishes!
  8. As you feel less restriction, you may need additional fill. It is definitely a discussion to have with your doctor. He needs your feedback. Good Luck!
  9. Congrats on beginning your Journey. We will be here if you need support.
  10. Best wishes... a bit of panic is perfectly normal. I hope all goes well. Come back and chat with us as a banded lady when you feel up to it!
  11. Talk it over with the doctor. You seem to be doing well. Losing weight is a journey not a race, and it sounds like you are doing well. I waited for 6 weeks for a fill, and even that did not make me feel overly restricted. Eat the right foods in the right amounts and you will lose, fill or no fill!
  12. I agree with the surgeon. Swelling after surgery makes all things feel different. The surgeon is the expert. If he is happy you should be too!
  13. If you are too tight you might puke too much. I agree, you need to let your doctor know what is going on!
  14. Some medications leave a metallic aftertaste. Ask your PCP.
  15. Best wishes... with an in house coach you will do well. Who you tell is a very individual decision. Do what feels right.
  16. You WILL eat again, and you will learn to love what you eat. You can do this. It is there for you if you want it!
  17. Sounds like a very good attitude to have. Keep up the good work.
  18. Keep doing the right things and exercise. It will happen for you.
  19. Good luck to you all! Come back to report in post surgery!
  20. Try to add in a protein shake. Initially the protein is more important than the total calories. These will came up as you add more solid foods.
  21. I have had very few headaches since banding. Did you drink a lot of caffeine before? I recommend you chat with your surgeon about this.
  22. Sounds great... thanks for the input!
  23. I agree... I know of no garment that will permanently change your waistline. Spanx, and their sister products Assets are very good for support though.
