  1. I think if you are feeling full for 4-5 hours after a meal you are fine. There are some on here will no fills after a year. One friend has lost 118 pounds with no fills.
  2. Are we still beating this horse? My decision was based upon surgeon's recommendation and less invasive procedure. I do have Plication with my Band.
  3. Celery? Carrot sticks? Greek Yogurt?
  4. You should be fine... the port is sewn to the muscle and if you stretched it it could be sore for a couple of days.
  5. Perfectly normal! Keep to the plan, and try not weighing every day!
  6. Totally unnecessary competition. Just do your thing and see what happens at the next visit! Or don't invite her again. Healthy is healthy and you are succeeding.
  7. I needed the tool, just saying. I could lose 80 pounds 10 times and gain it back every one.
  8. Cottage cheese, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, yogurt with a little granola, yogurt with Peanut butter, Protein shakes when I feel tight in the am.
  9. Not to throw cold Water on the last suppers, but I started out by trying to change my eating habits to band rules for 2 months prior to surgery. We have to start somewhere, and least when I forgot and ate to big of bites, I did not get stuck. I ended up losing almost 20 pounds those 2 months. There is no time like the present to start living the rest of your life. By the way, at 19 months, there is NOTHING that I could or did eat before surgery that I cannot have now in lesser quantities and better eating habits. You can do it if you WANT it bad enough!
  10. Hang in there! It will get better!
  11. Sorry you got stuck. At least now you know what you are trying to avoid. Chew, Chew, Chew! The band does vary for me by time of day and stress level. We are all different though. Take it easy after a stuck.
  12. The negativity gets old, but trying help newbies with genuine questions offsets that for me. I rarely respond to negative nellies and you learn pretty quickly who they are. The new folks need a voice of reason on occasion. I am not here a much as I was, but I have several people who still PM me there questions and ask for help.
  13. Same here, down 80+ and just a scars line. I can feel it if I try, but it is not noticeable.
  14. Stock up on gas-x strips and don't forget chapstick. You will both do fine! Congratulations on your surgery dates. Come back to let us know how you make out! Lapband is the best thing I have ever done for myself!
  15. You are very wise to start changing eating habits now. It took years to develop the ones we had, and it will likely take a good while to change them. I am at 17 months, and still catch myself cramming in food like I am in a hot dog eating contest. I takes constant focus, and we have to work for what we want. Best wishes to you. I found that when I chew more, I do not need to wash my food down with liquid. I do however drink right up until I start eating. Hope this helps.
  16. Good luck on beginning the journey again!
  17. Congrats on the NSV! We missed you!
  18. For the liquid phases try this: At the top of each hour drink 2-3 ounces of a Protein based liquid. Each 15 minutes thereafter you should be sipping a hydrating liquid. Repeat... that way you are essentially adding protein every hour. This worked very well for me. I am on three regular lapband meals now, but I always carry a Protein Bar in case I can't get to the meal within 5 hours. Best wishes.
  19. Ask for the doggy bag up front, and leave only what seems to be your appropriate portion on your plate for the meail.
  20. Spanx could be squeezing in the wrong places.
  21. It sounds like the swimming may have stretch the muscle your port is sewn to. Take it easy for a while and It should feel better. It is unlikely your band has slipped, but if you are concerned, definitely call your doctor.
  22. Go to the pre-op section of the forum and read up! Buy a book. It takes a book to tell you everything, and several have already been written! Good luck on the process.
  23. Much of what you list is slider foods. Pick things you have to chew!
  24. Do not be surprised if any scale you purchase does not exactly match the doctor's scales. Good news for me, his is always 3 pounds lighter.
