  1. Mine doc did not care, but like Missy, I did not eat just before.
  2. Hope everyone is having a good day. Sad for Carole and Jack ab out Sushi, but hopefully being around family helps. Safe travels home. Janet, when is Ange's baby due? Inquiring minds! I will try a warm drink in the am... I don't like coffee, so maybe tea for me! Dawn... mighty quiet up there... how's the back? Doreen, we are all thankful that Charlie came out with a new chance at a better life. I know with your help he can make the changes he needs to make. Might even help the kids learn to eat healthy. Something besides pickles! LOL! Diane, hope life is being good to you and you are eating better. Been watching your MFP posts to keep an eye on you. Michelle... how is your son handling the Tourette's now? How goes football practice? Skinny Mini... I like it! I am stuck at 180, but sticking with it and walking every day. Some days I forget the Fitbit though, sigh.
  3. I don't call your current activity a true fast, but it will be good practice for the pre-op and post-op diets. True fasting... water only is dangerous over the long haul. You are having surgery so you can learn to eat normal foods and me a normal person. It is a life change, but not a life time diet.
  4. Congratulations on a wonderful milestone. Keep up the good work!
  5. Not the pre-op diet... Call your regular doctor for a visit.
  6. I would suggest at least a small unfill. If you cannot eat well chewed solid foods you are too tight.
  7. Sounds to me like a fill would be helpful. Are you tracking your calories on something like My Fitness Pal? That will allow you to adjust for calories burned with exercise. It sounds like a lot of food to me.
  8. All great suggestions. As you progress to solid food, a good low carb protein bar will help as well.
  9. Just ask what you need to know. Everyone here has experience to share. Mine first is follow your surgeon's and nutritionists orders and guidelines.
  10. Congratulations!
  11. Janet... meet me at Port Everglades on Jan 4 and we will see if there is room for you. Doreen and Charlie are home... she was on FB last night. Apparently CJ giggled for hours!
  12. Had my surgery at 62 and am now 64. Best wishes to you. You can do it!
  13. CHEZNOEL replied to deeberry's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Yes port pain is common. I can also recur even after over a year with excess abdominal work or lifting.
  14. Band is behaving...except in the am. I have a tough time with getting all my pills down. I usually do them first and then Breakfast. Have now tried the inverse, still a struggle. I may shift pills to lunch time! LOL mornings are not good for the Calcium and I already use the minis. And no... I HATED the chewables so I will struggle on! LOL Prayers for Sushi, Ange, Charlie, Doreen, and everybody else. God is good!
  15. Janet... yes January is the big anniversary cruise. South Pacific and 3 weeks in Hawaii! Carole, safe travels. Diane, hang in there, the answer will come. Dawn hope you had a nice weekend with Brad... or is that this weekend? I get lost easy! Michelle... wow 10K! I am duly impressed. My knees don't do running! I could walk a 5K! Keep up the good work. Doreen... happy you guys will be home soon. I know CJ misses you! Best to Charlie, now he will have to eat like you do! Have a great Tuesday... BBL!
  16. Good to hear from everyone! Dee texted me that Charlie needed only one stent and they should be home on Wednesday. She also said thanks to you all for the prayers and support!
  17. Please remember to breathe! LOL
  18. No flooding here, and very little rain... but we need it again! It is either flood or drought, no in between. Carole, safe travels, yes I am working on cruise for January. Janet, Happy to hear that Ange is OK and Emi is growing! Dawn, follow the docs orders, back/neck pain is no fun! Michelle, still so proud of you! Diane, don't beat yourself up. I'll be your family understands the stress, and I doubt you really need the stress of moving right now. Doreen.... prayers continue! Good luck with the move to Harrisburg tomorrow!
  19. One day at a time. Log it and move forward.
  20. Hey girls, just got a message from Doreen's sister Deb. Charlie did have a heart attack. He is on a lot of new med including insulin for diabetes! They are keeping him for the weekend and may need a coronary stent put in. Keep the prayers coming for them!
  21. Works for me! Whatever is biggest!
  22. Dawn, whiplash is no joke! Take care of yourself!
  23. Yay for you Michelle! I knew it would happen soon! We are all so proud of you! Congrats!
