  1. Happy Saturday all! Quiet day at home today, laundry, groceries and scrap booking. I WILL FINISH the Disney Album today! Then I need a quilting break, so Janet I do understand your dilemma. I can walk a 5 K, but my knees not being bionic could never run it! Dawn sounds like Ericka is had an awesome trip, and you are awesome to take her to see her dead beat Dad. Sounds like Audrey will have a lot of growing to do. Not surprised by the early histrionics, I think things will settle down for her once classes get started and she gets into a routine. Carole, don't be surprised if this "early" fall is followed by an Indian Summer. I don't have the fall air feeling I usually get, so more hot days are a'coming. Your leaves made me want to make a leaf quilt though! I have FB chatted with Diane, and things are still stressful for her, she is mostly on liquids with lots of PBing and some throw-ups. I try to touch base with her every day. It is tough for her whole family. Doreen, how's the back to school bunch doing? Has Kaleb started cyber-school yet. I hope that works out for him. Nice having him around to keep you company during the day! I hope you will keep up your classes too... there is no time limit on getting your GED. Michele I assume you are off finishing classes working and prepping for the CPA exam. Just know that our thoughts are with you during this time. Pool party for back to school with the grands tomorrow. They don't start until Wednesday. Carole you are not losing me... I just go back and forth between here and FB. The forum Newbies are getting me down these days. Love you all!
  2. Back to school time of year is busy for everyone. I am sure we will hang together somewhere!
  3. Finishing up with Disney pictures today and then I may go back to quilting for a bit! Welcome to the group Emilia! Your Gram rocks! Carole, hope the counter tops all work out ok. I know you must be livid about the marble! Dawn... one out, one it. How long do you get with Ericka before she heads back to school? Audrey will grow up, I promise. Doreen, how do the kids like school so far. I hope CJ had a fabulous birthday, we need pictures of smiley! Michele... Hope you are studying hard. We are all here with you! Diane... more FB than LBT, but hope things are going well with the house expansion plans. Janet... congrats on the knee progress... next thing we know you will be doing the couch to 5 K! Love to all for a super weekend, good weather and general happiness!
  4. LOL High belly button, that works for me!
  5. You start does not bode well long term for your commitment to the band. Yes you will be hungry, but some of that is head hunger. I would talk to a counselor about your wants versus your needs. It is so very important to follow doctor's orders. Complications in those who do not are common. You have to want this more than anything to make a go of it. Sorry to be harsh, but need to own up to your own failings. We can all eat around the band... ice cream goes down really well, but it will not make you healthy or thin.
  6. Good luck and plan ahead for food during the travels.
  7. Just because you can eat large bite does not mean you should. Slow down and enjoy your food and Chew!
  8. Oooh Dawn, Franc and I will see Machu Picchu in January. I will be interested in how Ericka liked it! Sorry about the ex.... they do that and have no idea how much it hurts the girls! Janet, how was PT today.. still oowiee? Carole, I do realize that the kids will likely not be interested in the family pictures, but I do it anyhow. I have over 25 albums and counting. Back to quilting soon, I feel it coming on! Doreen, be mean if you have to to get Charlie's attention. You guys need him healthy! Minimi is off studying so she can ace that CPA exam! You can do it girlfriend. Finally seems to have stopped raining here... at least temporarily! I hope tomorrow is better. The granddaughters are coming to swim on Sunday so the pool needs to warm back up from the overnight 60's we have been having... yes in August. Weird summer. TTYL ladies!
  9. Oh my! So adorable! How can you stand it? BTW, how is Ange doing? We need a new picture of you at -100!
  10. Congratulations on your date! I wish you well! Let us know how you are doing post surgery!
  11. It will come back... meanwhile try 5000 mg of Biotin daily. It helped me.
  12. I agree! Do what you can. Anything you do to keep active and moving will help!
  13. You need around 60 grams of protein daily. It sounds like you should be just fine. I think it is smart to start getting used to banded life before surgery! Good luck!
  14. You look fabulous! Personally I would wait until I had reached goal. But, that said, it is your life and only you can decide what is right for you.
  15. You both look fabulous! Congratulations to your family! Welcome to healthier living!
  16. Congratulations and best wishes for your ongoing success! You are rocking this!
  17. I'll have to buy a steamer trunk in that case! Up early like me. We got a hang up call from Duke Hospital at 7:00 am and I have been wide awake ever since. I wish people would dial more carefully! Scrapbooks are for me and my descendants should they be interested. I have tons, just a bit behind at present. Have a good week everyone!
  18. Sounds like you have irritated the port connection to the muscle. It should go away if you don't keep stretching it.
  19. Congratulations on your surgery dates!
  20. I would vote against the hermit routine. You can eat with others as long as you eat what you are supposed to be eating. Your family will adjust to your pace. Friends need to be told not to offer you more or be concerned about how much you eat. It is a lifestyle change and you need to keep living a normal life while you change.
  21. Best wishes and congrats for starting your journey to a healthier you!
  22. I hated to like your post Janet. Sorry PT is so rough! Hang in there my friend!
  23. Happy weekend to all! Carole, Kitchen remodels are trying times. It is amazing how much of our life centers around a kitchen... could that be why we all had weight issues? Doreen, will send you my address file. Charlie needs a kick in the butt to get with the program! We don't want him ending up back in the hospital! Janet, glad to hear you are making such good progress. I know you cannot wait to be pain free. Dawn... an aggressive boarder eh? Maybe you should turn him lose to scare off the neighbors! I alternate between quilting and scrap booking but only have one big work surface. I will cycle back, but I don't remember your colors! Michele... best wishes on the CPA exam. You have worked hard and you are a focused lady. I feel you will do great! Diane... keep us posted on the remodel... that is stressful too... so take good care of yourself!
