Holy Heart Burn!
I had surgery 12/5. No heartburn until the last two weeks. Man oh man it wakes me up in the middle of the night. And I take 2 Pepcid everyday. I keep meaning to call the doctors office- but I've lost faith in them. Maybe just a call to my PCP is in order.

Mushy Food Shopping List
Cottage cheese was a good start for a mushy. White fish was easy on me as was just about all forms of cheese. Also, chili was easy on me- I know a lot of others have a hard time with chop meat but for me I was okay.

Surgery? Overall Summary. Yes Or No?
I would do it again 1000000000 times!!! Best decision I have made for myself EVER! For the first time in my LIFE, I LOVE being me! Each day it's like there is some new miracle. Today it was the amount of space between my belly and the steering wheel. Tomorrow it will be that I can go out to eat with my sister and be happy just talking to her instead of scarfing down food. Next week it'll be buying size 12s... It's amazing. Pray- you'll get the answer.

Beef Snack
Mmmm. I'm gonna try that this week! Sounds yummy and I'm struggling right now because of eating the same things over and over.

When Should I Expect To Feel Human Again?
Somewhere right around 3 months I started feeling like me again. I could go through the day without dragging and found I started looking forward to things other than going to bed at night. I will be 4 months out 4/5... I'm down 75 pounds, and I feel alive and pretty again. Hang it there- it is totally worth it!

5 Weeks Po & You Wouldn't Know It
I too was frustrated with how exhausted I felt after surgery. There were days where it literally took me an hour to talk myself out of bed. And the mood swings! OH BOY! However, I'm almost 4 months out and thankfully my energy levels have returned and started to right around the 3 month mark. It may have taken me longer to recover because I work full time as well as go to school full time, and try to manage my family life on top of having recently had surgery.. Or it could be due to the fact that my doctors office had me taking the wrong vitamins for nearly 3 months. But today I feel fantastic! The weight loss WILL happen!!

Great Day!
I sure wish I had that much energy at 5 weeks out!! So happy you are enjoying your family more- think of all the fun things to come still!

Stretchmarks/scars...
Stretch marks are a part of life for everyone, not just us BBW/BBM. Mine tell a story of how I overcame struggles in my life. As far as the scars from surgery- I hate them. A LOT! My bf had his gall bladder removed a month or two before I had my sleeve done and you can hardly see his scars- drives me nuts. He hasn't seen mine yet and IDK if I'll let him for awhile. I'm thinking about splurging on the real Maderma, as I too have a generic that has done nothing for them.

The Kind Of Eggs You Eat
I can eat any kind of egg but scrambled. For some reason they just gross me out and make my tummy feel weird.

Does The Stomach (Organ) Feel Pain?
This is a great question! For me the pain came mostly from incisions. I don't recall having any gas pains at all, but if you look at my pictures you can see how indented one of my incisions was concave.

4 Dpo & Sore!
I was in terrible pain until 5 days post op, after day 5 it all seems like a gravy train unless I over did it.

Ladies: What Was Your Five Month Loss?
April 5th will be my 4th month. I lost 63 pounds since surgery and a grand total of 73 pounds. I'm really starting to notice physical changes, and these changes are making even bigger changes on me emotionally. I am starting to feel content with my life and like there is something to look forward to now! Good luck to you!

Has Alternating Calories Helped Anyone Through A Stall?
I find myself to be the opposite of Libbe for some odd reason. If I go too low with my carbs I stall out. That isn't to say I haven't gained and lost the same two pounds for a week or two either- but eventually it starts coming off again. I have no problems getting in my protein and since adding fruit back into my diet my energy is 10x what it used to be. Play with you stalls to learn what works for you and you'll do great

First Mushy Meal.. Hating Every Minute
You'd be surprised how well your body will handle some real food! Remember that your body isn't meant to survive off of all liquids. You will hit stalls along the journey- but don't give up on real food. I'm 3.5 months post op and have lost way over 50 pounds in that time... And I eat real food for every meal. I haven't had a shake in about a month and I have NO problems getting in all of my protein. You'll do great

Sex... After Vsg
Haha, I'm gonna have to steal Mr. Motorcycles mistress- he'll get a kick out of that.

Sex... After Vsg
I call him Mr. Motorcycle because I don't want to just call him "this/that guy" but I don't want to share his first name with everyone either. And since he loves his motorcycle I figured that's what I'd call him here.

Sex... After Vsg
Ya know... You guys have become such a big part of my life and I anxiously await updates on so many of you that I feel like you've become this special little family I've chosen to be a part of. I'm bursting at the seems to share something that makes me feel so alive and really confirms in my mind just how far I've come since VSG 12/5/11. In the year and a half prior to surgery I had no interest in sex. AT ALL. The very thought of it made me want to crawl under a table and die. There was no drive or desire for it, I felt fat, ugly- definitely not sexy! The last month of my life since I started seeing who I will refer to as Mr. Motorcycle and I feel alive. I've known him four years, and there has always been a flirty thing between us... But when we met I was actually dating his friend- then he was in a relationship, and we have just been friends supporting each other through lifes ups and downs. In the last month though I feel beautiful, sexy, desired, and comfortable with who I am and the changes I am going through, and comfortable with him being a part of my life during this amazing journey. I swore when I started all this I was going to stay single and work exclusively on me until I was done getting where I want to be. But he just fits into my life right now.... Maybe it wont be forever or anything but right now he's the perfect fit. So.... last night... I don't know if it's because it has been two years for me or because of him, or because of my body.. But WOW! I feel so cheesy this morning... Why? Well, who here watched Breaking Dawn? That scene the morning after the honey moon where Bella is all in awe and flashing back while she washes her face? Yeah, that's been me all morning. I'm never gonna survive a day of co-workers teasing me. And why am I sharing this with you guys? Because I'm lame and have no one else to share it with right now and I'm bursting! My best fiend is at work and I won't get to talk to her until like 6 tonight so- gotta share..... I'll prolly just end up deleting this, but... Am I alone in this whole- I hated the thought of it and now it's better than ever?

Mood Swings?
Mood swing city! It was insane. I could be thinking in my head "Why are you saying that" but it would still come shooting out of my mouth and I couldn't have cared less and kept right on going. It is starting to calm down now, although sometimes I still get irritated out of no where. Not sure how much of it has to do with surgery and how much of it really is just that I'm a *****!

For Females Only
I am battling PCOS, so what has happened to me may not happen to everyone. I was sleeved December 5, 2011 and thus far I have had 6 periods. In the four months prior to surgery I didn't have one at all. Surgery was a Monday, by that Friday I had one. And just about every other week since then. I didn't do any birth control the first few weeks per doctors orders, but then I started back on Trinessa. That didn't help at all, and my insurance changed and finally I could afford to use NuvaRing again, my favorite birth control out of all I've been on! I'm hoping that NuvaRing will do the trick. My surgeon said usually if cycles get messed up they start to fix themselves around the 3 month mark. Good luck!
