4 Dpo & Sore!

I was sleeved on 3/21. I'm struggling with protein and fluid intake. But most of all the biggest incision feels like it is stitched too tight!! i can't sit up from laying or cough without extreme pain from this one incision. Will he have to go in and loosen it? it is like i have an extra belly button!

I was in terrible pain until 5 days post op, after day 5 it all seems like a gravy train unless I over did it.

According to my surgeon the big incision on the left has a really deep internal suture from where they took the stomach out. Yeah, it'll be sore for awhile, when the swelling goes down, it will feel better. I'm 2 weeks out and still swollen and sore, can't really cough or sneeze. Try a heating pad on your tummy.

Are you wearing the surgery band restriction thing? I find having that on takes away all the discomfort.

I had the same issue. But walking is actually the only thing that seemed to help. It's like it loosened up the tight tissue or something. I'm 11 days post op and actually made a comment today about how you can hardly notice my 2nd bellybutton anymore. :)

I didn't get a restriction band.

I'm 3 weeks post op today and I am sitting here with my heating pad on my big incision! It bothers me most of the time still but it has not stoped me from returning to work or from my daily walks. I just use the heating pad when I get home and take a couple of tylenol. This too shall pass!

I didn't get a restriction band.

Try and get one from a medical supply store. It's made a huge difference for me. Keeps everything stable when I walk. Feels much better.

Abdominal binder, I think is what they call it. I didn't have one, but I know it would've helped.

im 7 days postop and mine still hurts most of the time.

Abdominal binder' date=' I think is what they call it. I didn't have one, but I know it would've helped.[/quote']

That's it! Abdominal binder. That made a big difference.
