  1. No he didn't. I go see him next week and will check then. I feel like its better to get the gummy ones in than to throw up the others
  2. I had elbow surgery some years ago and my scar is also numb. It is common as some of the nerves have been cut. I am a labor and delivery nurse, and c section moms often report that their scars and surrounding area is numb and remains so even after healing.
  3. I am craving salt. I know my body must need a little. I grabbed a few potato chips (I know, bad choice! But I was desperate!), but am looking for a healthier option. Seems like my diet is filled with sweet stuff these days. Protein shakes, yogurt, pudding....How can I get a little salt in?
  4. I was given a calorie and protein recommendation, but never one for carbs. I would love to hear what others are doing and what they have found that takes the most weight off!
  5. I use the adult gummy ones from Costco. I was using bariatric choice chewables but they make me sick. My gummy ones are delicious
  6. I do. I have since I've been home.
  7. I am a month out and still feel it. I was told it was swelling in the esophagus from surgery. Try a popsicle to reduce swelling.
  8. My one month was Friday. I am down 10 since surgery. Yay us!!!!
  9. Yes, twice actually. It's a learning process....lol. I am now working really hard on slow slow slow and chew chew chew....
  10. Do not remove them. You can trim the ragged edges. But your Dr. Will take them off.
  11. The first couple weeks are brutal. It does get better. I am four weeks out and feel 100% better. Hydration and some calories made a huge difference in how I felt. Hang in there.
  12. I am craving coffee!!!! I am one month out. Wondering if and when you all were able to put coffee back in your diets?
  13. I am one month out and have only lost 10 pounds. I lost more on my two week preop diet. I just don't understand. How can I be eating so little and only lose 10 pounds???? I am getting all my water and protein. Starting to wonder if I'm just destined to be fat.....
  14. Im almost 4 weeks out and only down 17lbs. You're doing great!!!!
  15. I am worried...LoL. This morning I was able to eat a hard boiled egg, a pudding and 4 ritz crackers at one sitting. NOT GOOD!!!!!! I am not even a month out! AHHHHH.....HELP
  16. I am 24 days out. At this point full feels like food in my throat. Kinda like it is just sitting there. I also get some pain in my stomach and I know it's time to stop. I am told that the full sensation returns to normal after a time. I sure hope so!
  17. I just moved to mushies. I feel like while I'm eating, the food just kinda sticks in my throat. Is this normal? Will it get better?
  18. No. I didn't want my guts rearranged, and I did want a band eroding my stomach. I think the slightly slower weight loss with the sleeve is better too. It leaves less loose skin, and not many abosorbtion issues.
  19. YUM! I'm gonna try this tomorrow
  20. Three weeks tomorrow. Scared to eat. Not losing much....This too shall pass.
  21. You sound a lot like me. I haven't tried to self sabatoge myself with my sleeve yet. But I can hear the hurt in you. I have had major emotional issues since being sleeved on 8/26/11. I have been very sad and filled with anxiety. And I believe a lot of it comes from not being able to hide deep down emotions with food. I am going to see a counselor next week. I am hoping she can give me tools to prevent self sabatoge and ways to deal with these emotions. Have you considered seeing someone? My heart breaks for you because I know how you feel. I will say a prayer for you. Take care of yourself. xoxoxoxoxo
  22. That is so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations! I look forward to hearing all about him. He is very lucky to be getting such a great mommy!
  23. Well, I am 3 weeks out tomorrow. I was on a liquid diet for 1 extra week due to some pain with swallowing. After being SCARED TO DEATH to try anything semisolid, I did it!!!! I just tried Cream of Wheat. It's amazing to me how different it felt than my liquids. I was able to get 4-5 small bites in before becoming full. How odd thi seems..... What was your first mushie? I have two weeks of mushies ahead of me. I plan on a lot of refried beans, yogurt, egg salad, tuna salad...What else were your favorite mushies?
  24. What did they do about the twist in your stomach? I imagine that would be quite painful and also cause nausea.
  25. Oh wow...I got goose bumps reading your post. How scary. It was definietly an intervention by God. It is so rare to find stomach cancer before it's advanced stages. I pray that they got it all and you are now cancer free.
