  1. Dayuuuum Girl!! You look FANTABULOUS!!!!!
  2. I'm 12 days post op and I've only lost 11lbs depending on the day. Sometimes it's only 10. My diet plan from Dr. is confusing ... at best. So I'm confused & starving 90% of the time. I can only pray that I can pull down the types of #'s you all are stating. Its SOOOOOOO true that every Dr. is different. I really envy everyone else who seem to have it all figured out. Not feeling the greatest right now. :-(
  3. I was thinking of going to the health food store and grab some flax seed oil. Maybe that will work for me. If I don't go by Wed which will be my 2 week Surgeversary (can't believe I FINALLYget to type that ... totally have a huge grin right now lol) I'm going to go see my PCP. Is Miralax good for your bowels? Is it something that you will always have to take?
  4. I will look into different places. Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure if I'm lactose intolerant now or if its just naaaasty now. LOL
  5. I'm 12 days post op and have to admit I'm a bit intimidated by this whole counting thing. I've never been good at journaling & counting so I'm praying that I can get the hang of it so I can be successful like you all.
  6. Today I had my chocolate/peanut butter Protein shake with skim milk. I used to enjoy them ... for the most part. This morning it took EVERYTHING in me to get most of it down. I don't know if I've developed a milk intolerance or if it's just too sweet now? Whatever the case it was a struggle to get each sip down. I still feel slightly nauseous and I've moved on to drinking my Water with a splash of lemon juice in it. I had surgery 8/17 and I'm going to venture into the world of mushy/soft foods sooner rather than later. I've seen posts where people mention adding flavorless protein to their foods. What is it and where do I get it from? Thanks in advance!!!
  7. I had my sugery 8/17 and still haven't "moved" yet. I've been putting Benefiber in my drinks and I've been drinking a little Prune juice ... that stuff makes me want to blow chunks so it's been difficult to get down. I'm only concerned because my guy keeps asking me did I go yet. I don't have any pains or any feelings that I need to go or anything. After reading up on constipation I'd say I probably have been constipated all my life. I never was an everyday "mover" I would probably only have one 2-3 times per week ... if that.
  8. How long did you use your spirometer after surgery? I barely use mine ... if I walk past it and think about it I'll give it a whirl. Otherwise ... I rarely pick it up. What about you?
  9. I'm confused ...how are cheese crisps mushy??
  10. Well ... I'm 2 weeks post op & I haven't had to cook yet. Yippeee!! I've never been a fan of it + my guy is better at it hands down (I have nooo problem admitting it lol) However I am looking forward to trying all the new recipes I've seen though. In regards to pizza night I saw a recipe on someone named eggface's blog. You can have that so you're having pizza too. When I find the link I will post it. From what I remember it was made on a whole wheat tortilla shell with veggies & stuff on it.
  11. Dadams -Friend list ... Absolutely!!! Bryn ... I'm sooo looking forward to not being hungry. Thanks for the comment :-)
  12. Sounds gooood. How many do you eat at a time? I'm recently sleeved & still trying to wrap my head around portions. You mentioned eating this with eggs ... I only eat boiled eggs can I eat 1 egg with this?
  13. Soooo are you telling me I can have creamy Soups now too???? I read your message & responded. After reading it I see a bit of light at the end of hunger alley!! LOL
  14. I purchased the single servings of Benefiber ... I do add them to my water or broth sometimes. However I don't do it all the time. I'm sipping on a 5.5 oz can of 100% Prune juice right now soooo we shall see how it goes. Thanks for the advice about the broth seasonings. I never thought of using the packets from Ramen noodles. I'm praying for the extreme hunger to subside. I'm going to start drinking my Protein shakes in the morning. Seriously can't wait!!!
  15. I seriously am on the verge of tears. I'm sooooooooooooooo HUNGRY. I had surgery 8/17, the first week I wasn't hungry that has changed DRASTICALLY!! I had to do the 2 week liquid diet pre op so all I can think is ... I haven't eaten in 4 weeks. :-( According to the diet I was given I can't even have mushy until the fourth week out. I feel like I can't make it ... I will because I have to and I'm too scared of complications. However ... I'm MISERABLE. All I do is drink water all day and sometimes juice. I also eat SF popsicles or fudgesicles every once in a while. I haven't had a BM since the day before surgery but I don't feel bad or anything from that (I wasn't super regular before surgery anyway) but I did get some prune juice today. I eat broth every once in a while but really don't like it that much. I don't like jello either. I just wish I could get in the bed and sleep my way to week 4.
  16. VERY inspiring!! Congratulations on your loss! I'm looking forward to racking up those types of numbers!!!
  17. Thanks for the comments ... it's good to know I'm not the only one and I'm not crazy. lol It's also good to hear that "this too shall pass". Other than this weird pain I feel GREAT ... with the exception of being hungry. The first week I wasn't hungry at all this week ... can you say STARVING?? I can't wait to get to mushy! Soooo looking forward to eating something. Dadams - CONGRATS on your surgery!! How are you doing so far?
  18. Where is the LIKE button ... no make that the LOVE button?? lol I agree whole heartedly with everything Sue posted. What it all boils down to is the all mighty dollar!!! Sandy seems to be pretty annoyed that it's not all coming to her and that patients are going directly to Dr. Kelly without paying her a fee. I was sleeved by Dr. Kelly on 8/17/11 and went directly through Trish. I had no issues with payment or anything that happened once I was there. To the original poster I'm HAPPY you got everything situated.
  19. Contact his personal assistant Trish at WLS4betterlife.com or 619.955.6771. Best of luck to ya!
  20. I had surgery with Dr. Kelly on Aug 17th and worked with his assistant Trish. You can get the ball rolling by going to the website WLS4betterlife.com you will find all sorts of info and a way to contact Trish directly 619.955.6771 Best of luck to you!
  21. I had surgery 8/17/11 since then I've been GREAT with the exception of this weird ripping feeling near my belly button. It's not an incision point and it happens randomly when I move a certain way. It feels like a band aid being ripped off quickly (but on the inside). It hurts then goes away. Has anyone else had this ... if so what was it and what did you do? How long did it last? Thanks in advance!
