  1. I asked that question to my PA on Wednesday during my final pre-op visit. She told me "on average" 2 weeks before you can hit a Zumba/cardio class and 4 weeks before you can hit the weights. I guess thats if everything is healing well.
  2. I bought Unjury unflavored, i have mixed it with everything and so far its been easy to mix, doesnt add a bad taste and smoothes really well. Dunno after surgery. I also bought Isopure. It tastes ok.
  3. I am pre op but my diet workbook says 3-4 oz, 6 times a day, so that seems to be right. Also water goal is 64 oz, and protein is 60 grams. Are you getting enough protein? my booklet says 2 flinstone twice daily. it seems every doc is different on viatmins, but if you are feeling week and getting all your protein maybe up your vitamins? Maybe the more experienced sleevers can give you more input.
  4. I dont know the anwser cause i am still pre op. but WOW congrats ont he weight loss. I will be happy to lose half that the first month! i would say as long as you are staying hydrated dont stress it to much.
  5. Well congrats on the approval!! I have all kinds of CRAZY dreams about the surgery! atleast a couple a week. my favorite was i had the surgery and when i woke up i was even bigger than when i started. The doc said he changed his mind and added more stomach instead of less..........Now i am so excited/nervous im lucky to sleep at all. My date is dec 28.
  6. my insurance covered everything besides a 20$ copay for visits and my 6 months of doc visits that i had to have before surgery. I wouldnt mind to pay extra for the weekly support visits and the access to the trainer and dietician, that would be pretty awesome!
  7. Just Dance 3 is under my tree too! and the Michael Jackson experience. We thought she was a little young last year when it first came out, but it made another visit to her christmas list this year so we figured why not. (shes 8) Im looking forward to playing. She will be mad cause i will have to wait a few weeks (surgery is the 28th) but im looking forward to it!
  8. I love holiday baking!! I am pre sleeve but i am so proud of myself because for every dozen i bake 9 cookies got into other peoples goody bags . Now my husband is a little aggervated about this process so i have been giving him my cookies, (no way will my daughter give up hers she is too happy there are sweets in the house lol) but i told him it was either that or i had to quit baking which i didnt really want to do. So we compromised and i made his parents a bigger goody bag so he could nibble on their cookies when we visited. Poor man he must really love me cause hes not a bit chunky and has been giving up "all the good stuff" as he calls it. haha noone tell him i switched a ton of ingredients to healthier ones or he will never forgive me!
  9. WOW! Does anyone NOT feel nervous? I am actually not worried or stressed. It took a long time for me to make this decision and when i finally did it i felt like a boulder had been lifted off me. The doc is AWESOME, the hospital is amazing and the staff is wonderful. Is anyone else feeling like this? I am having to comfort my husband becuase he is nervous (just about the procedure itself) I am excited and confident and actually PREPARED! I know for a few days after it will hurt like haitis but im looking forward to after. Besides my hypothyroidism that we cant seem to get medicated properly for i am pretty healthy. No diabetes, high blood pressure nothing. So i am hoping that that will be in my favor on the operating table!
  10. Well CONGRATS on getting SOBER!!! That in itself is an AMAZING accomplishment!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you can do that then this will be a breeze! Both my parents are in recovery and ive watched them struggle for years so i know it is hard work!!! Good luck on your surgery!!!
  11. i play just dance and Zumba on the Wii and it is tons of fun and you dont even realize you are exercising. i put on my heart rate moniter and you can burn 300 calories really fast! You have to do something you enjoy if you want to keep on the exercise path. Also, i go to a college gym and there are unoccassional glances my way, but usually everyone is completely engrossed on their workout, they dont pay you any attention.
  12. I too have a trainer, she was awesome about it, i was scared to death and i didnt tell her till i was 4 months in to my 6 months requirement. She even knew my surgeon personally (small town WV LOL) and is talking to him about what i will need to eat, when i will be able to exercise, what kind of exercises i will need to do. Then she shocked the crap outta me and told me about surgeries that she herself had done done. the surgery is for oyu, ignore the haters!
  13. i want to run a mile. I used to love to run. i want to wear clothes from the regular size section i want to look sexy in a summer dress i want to be able to breathe will painting my toes/shaving/ tyeing my shoes i want my husband to be able to pick me up i want to wear a sexy bathing suit and look great in the pictures of family vaction. Also i want my daughter to not have a fat mom, want to be able to do fun stuff and not be too tired.
  14. You are beautiful! You cant even tell your hair is half gone, so you mustve had A LOT!! If you didnt post the before pic noone would know how thick your hair was! You look wonderful and congrats on your weight loss. My trainer told me some of the skin would tighten up after we started on a good cardio weight training program.
  15. YAY I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! We will be recovering together!!!
  16. I dont know if anyone lives near a Gabriel Brothers, but sometimes they get Spanx for CHEAP! like 10 bucks! I got a ton from there, i hope they have it in my size after i start losing weight. (Gabriels is kinda like a Marshalls but some of their clothes is "irregular" you have to go through it) I get Lane Bryant jeans for 8 dollars!
  17. as long as the paper work is done correct and filed in the time it is supposed to be done in there should be no problem. My husband is worried about me being home alone for some strange reason so he is going to take a week off after the surgery. A lot of times jobs just make you jump through hoops and tons of red tape before getting anything done.
  18. i am a pre-sleever and HOPE so much that my cravings for sweets or the tastes for sweets leaves along with most of my stomach!!
  19. So i am pre sleeve (dec 28) and have been on a low carb, low cal, high Protein diet for a few weeks to try to get all the sugars and stuff cleaned out and get my candy cravings under control (candy bars, Wonka, Starburst, skittles you name it i love it, im like a 5 year old with pixie stix) anyway i have been doing AWESOME besides a little slip on turkey day. Intill............PMS struck yesterday. You name it i tried to scarf it down. I had M&Ms and pretzels in my mouth AT THE SAME TIME! so my question is, how do you deal with pms after the sleeve? what does it feel like? This is the first time i have been worried about how i will be AFTER. im fully dedicated and ready but this has me worried because i scarfed that stuff down like i was on autopilot, just shoveling chocolate and salty in my mouth like any other month. I will be dealing with it next month fresh outta surgery still healing and all that jazz, and worried about what kind of pms symptoms i will be feeling. Can anyone give me some feedback? Kista
  20. is that a mandatory thing? Its the first ive heard about it but the office called me today and told me mine was scheduled. I was so suprised i forgot to ask her what for. Will they remoce it during surgery if it is bad i wonder?
  21. My NUT told me Flinestone COMPLETE was all i would need for the first few months. Its just whatever you prefer and what your stomach decides it likes. as long as it is complete. You just need a multi.
  22. well i have hypothyroid so im always cold anyway, so atleast one thing will stay the same in my life haha.
  23. You look fantastic!! Cant wait to be a hundred pounds down!
  24. Good luck! Praying for a safe surgery and a quick recovery!
