Xbox Kinect Exercising

I got an Xbox kinect on Cyber Monday this year and really love exercising with it. I only have the Kinect Adventures game, Fruit Ninja, and Gun slinger but am going to get some more on pay day. It is really great for working out indoors when it is cold out. I feel embarrassed going to a gym right now because I think people are looking at me and judging how fat I am. I was walking outside in the Spring and Summer but it is so cold out to do that now. I hope using the Kinect will get me exercising more.

I use to play Dance Central all the time (last Christmas) and got a pretty good work out playing with my kids. I need a new game to get back in the groove.

i play just dance and Zumba on the Wii and it is tons of fun and you dont even realize you are exercising. i put on my heart rate moniter and you can burn 300 calories really fast! You have to do something you enjoy if you want to keep on the exercise path. Also, i go to a college gym and there are unoccassional glances my way, but usually everyone is completely engrossed on their workout, they dont pay you any attention.

I love my Zumba game on the Kinect, but there was a learning curve for me to get it all figured out. My 12-year-old helped me set up facial recognition to make it easier.

I have bought a lot of dance games to help me work out at home. I have games for the Wii and the Kinect. I like Dance Dance Revolution 3 and 2(requires a pad for the Wii), Just Dance 2 and Zumba. Right now, we have Just Dance 3 and Dance Central 2 under the tree.

I have three teenage girls, and we really have fun playing the dance games. I really like it because I tend to kick their butt. :-) We have even started going to real Zumba classes together.

Just Dance 3 is under my tree too! and the Michael Jackson experience. We thought she was a little young last year when it first came out, but it made another visit to her christmas list this year so we figured why not. (shes 8) Im looking forward to playing. She will be mad cause i will have to wait a few weeks (surgery is the 28th) but im looking forward to it!

I have Dance Central. Love it. I am a terrible dancer...but I suppose that is okay if the point is to burn calories.

I'm one of those guys who can't dance and would only play these dance games in the middle of the dessert inside a tent but as I begin my workout routine this would be a good way to start cardio out. I wish there were "manly" kinect games were I could play and achieve the same thing :P

What were the ones for the Wii? I'm so confused by all the different names! I've had a Wii for 2 years but mostly my teenager uses it. I was at my dad's for New Years and he had the Kinect and some dance game they were all playing - it looked cool but since I don't have Xbox may as well work with what I've got!
