  7. wow greekie, that's horrible, I had a bad reaction to the glue and my surgeon put me on steroids and had no problems. So glad he did b/c i was going crazy from the itching and welps...

  9. hello there Tisha38, I'm in Lafayette, and Dr Cunningham did my surgery. On the fence huh? What concerns/issues do you have? feel free to contact me, I'm still new at this was banded on 12/16, but I will share any and all info that i have...
  10. Well i was banded on 12/16 and when i went for my post op visit i had lost 11 lbs, i was so excited. Went for my 1st fill 1/19, lost 0 lbs...yep that's right 0, nada, nothing. Went for my 2nd fill on 2/15, weighed in only lost 2 lbs..Everyone is different, but don't expect this great amount of weight loss too soon. Right now your body is healing and that's what you should be focusing on. Since i had my 2nd fill last week, the scale is finally moving for me.
  11. Hello everyone...here in Louisiana for the past few weeks it's been nothing but parties, balls, parades, and those sweet tasting king cakes. I've managed to stay away from them all, well except 1 parade. We had our usual feast of king cakes at work and I'm so proud of myself for not even having one little piece. I had my 2nd fill last week and for the first time in over a month I finally see the scale moving in the downward position. Can I tell ya, I'm smiling from ear to ear. Went out to dinner last night with the hubby and kid and all I ordered was a side salad and I didn't even eat it all, that felt so good, b/c usually we order appetizer, then a big meal and i normally eat it all. My husband even commented by saying "wow, is that it" The past month has been really hard for me and i was getting really discouraged b/c i had NO restriction and was still hungry all the time, and even started to wonder why did i go thru the surgery for this. I'm on this site daily and it's b/c i get so much support from ppl that don't even know me and I thank you all... Well enough about me, I'm off today but no parades or parties for me, I'll be at home doing house work. have a great day ppl and Happy Mardi Gras!!!!

Wow!!! you shouldn't be eating chicken 4 days out, you really need to follow your Dr's orders. You don't want to injure your stomach or your band. You will be hungry and most ppl don't feel restriction until 3 or 4 fills. I'm still new to this as i was only banded 12/16, i just had my 2nd fill last week and i haven't had restriction since my surgery. At this point it's pretty much mind control that stops me from over eating. You've come too far to fail, so plz follow dr's orders.
  13. I make egg white omelette and add deli turkey
  14. Don't be so down on yourself, I had surgery on 12/16/11 and I've only lost 11 lbs since surgery. I had my 2nd fill this past Wednesday and I"m hoping to feel some kind of restriction. My doc said he wasn't worried b/c i haven't gained anything and that most ppl don't feel restriction until their 3rd fill....I too was getting a little discouraged b/c i feel that I should have lost more than 11 lbs by now, but every one is different. May I ask what was your starting weight?
  15. You say you had a gall bladder attack...what were your symptoms?
  16. I'm having abdominal pain also, it's on the right side, kinda under my rib cage, no nausea though
  17. Hi SharonK..I too was denied twice i have BCBS Illinois and after researching on my own and constantly calling EVERYDAY to BCBS I was approved with a BMI of 35...they also told me that there wasn't enough paperwork submitted so i called my dr and told them to resubmitt. then they denied me for only having 1 comorbitity. Then i called my pcp to schedule me for a sleep study and found out that i had sleep apnea, so dr submitted that paperwork and i was approved. But i called BC every single day sometimes twice a day until they got tired of hearing from me and this nice lady named Amanda said "ma'am let me explain the process to you. First your paperwork is reviewed by our nurse and she either approves/denies it then it goes to medical review for the dr. The nurse already reviewed yours and she approved it and normally the dr goes along with what the nurse says." I then got really excited!!! She said but it can take 7 days for the dr to review it so i will put a note for them to call you once they reach a final decision." (In other words, don't call us anymore, we'll call you) lol..So i hung up and later that day i called to see if they reviewed it yet and nothing..But the very next day I got the call telling me i was APPROVED......moral to this story is.....don't give up the fight, and don't wait for dr's office,or anyone to help you..Take matters into your own hands and run with it... You need not wait for the letter to find out why you were denied, you need to call them and ask them why so that you can start working on getting what they need. It took 2 weeks for me to receive my 1st denial letter and i had already submitted my other paperwork by then...Good luck and let me know if you need some assistance.... So sorry for this long post...
  18. Were you having any symptoms? I think I'm having gallbladder issues as well, I go to the dr on Wednesday and i will talk to my dr about it.
