I just had my lap and surgery on 2/27 and I am feeling pretty good with the exception of the abdominal distension. I am hoping that goes away soon. I am excited to see how my journey turns out. I am glad to have people to connect with.

It's been 4 1/2 years for me and I don't regret the decision at all. Things will change in more ways than you can imagine.

the abdominal distension will go away, may take a week or 2 but it will subside, my hardest problem was the dam gas.. LOL didnt think that was ever going to leave my body. it was so bad I told my hubby day 3 after surgery to take me to the ER so they can get this stupid band outta me. LOL I hope you learn to love the band and enjoy your new life. congrats

Thanks everyone! I never expected to get so many supportive replies. I am down 9 pounds (not bad for 4 days!). I woke up this morning excited that my abdomen was down and squishy again, but when I was up and moving out it popped hard as a rock. Walking will be a priority today! Good luck to the future banders. I was terrified the day of my surgery, but I can already tell this will be an amazing journey. And for everyone who says this is the easy way out, you never had abdominal surgery!

Hello. I am new here. I just had my surgery on feb 21st. I am feeling great. I wasn't doing too well with the 2 week liquid diet. My doctor gave the ok to start soft foods, so I did about 4 days ago. In the last 3 days, I haven't lost any weight, and I am getting discouraged! Any similar stories?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
