  1. Wow, good to know. Thank you so much, Rootman.
  2. Lol, yeah, it so weird how many bones start showing up. Be careful of bruising, you have less fat to cushion the blow.
  3. When can I have sex? How much can I lift after surgery?
  4. I understand where you are coming from, really I have been considering weight loss surgery since I was about 17. However, it is a lot more difficult to have a surgeon perform any type of bariatric procedure when you are below the age of 18. I second Kayla's suggestion, talk to you Primary Care Physician first. Then I recommend calling your insurance company to see if they cover the sleeve or have your parents call. Some insurances, like mine (UHC), do not perform bariatric surgeries if you are below the age of 18. Get your information. Surf the forum. Find out all you can about the procedure. You might not be able to get it at 16, but in two more years, it might be a possibility. Be prepared.
  5. Awesome, congrats on beginning your journey! You are never alone on this board there are so many welcoming people who are here to help you and will be with you every step of the way. I mean, right now I am in the last two months of my PSWL and I am so excited that it is almost over. We might even be sleeved around the same time! So good luck and don't ever be afraid to ask questions.
  6. The multi-vitamin is paramount in my opinion. I am a horrible pill taker, wait, I WAS a horrible pill taker, but I have been taking my multi-vitamin every day for a month now, but you know what? It took me three months to get this way. Practice makes perfect. Take this time to develop good habits. Slowly start eating healthier and making better choices every day is a new day to do better by yourself. I also recommend to start taking calcium if you aren't getting a lot in your diet, and if you are trying to decrease carbs it gets a lot harder to eat the right amount of calcium. Just a note, I also take biotin and omega-3 fish oils.
  7. First down, another to go! You can do it. Keep up the great work.
  8. Looking nice and cool. I wish I was able to wear shorts right now, lol.
  9. Awesome, Fall Fever! Congrats! Lol, I am getting excited my ticker is a constant reminder of how close September is. Good luck!
  10. Awesome, keep up the fluids and be careful to not over exert yourself.
  11. Aw, I hope it is nothing serious, Tamz. I will be keeping you in my thoughts today. Please take care and try not to worry too much.
  12. Wow, what a change. Congrats on the great losses. You are looking even more amazing.
  13. Welcome to the forum! I know you will be able to get through the stuff you need to, to have the surgery covered. I know it might also take longer than you'd like, believe me I know. However, this is a great time to read up on the surgery and become familiar with the changes you will need to make to have this surgery truly be a success. Good luck on your journey!
  14. Mine is only taking six months because I am required to have a six month physician supervised "diet". Some can get it done a lot faster than me just because there insurance requires less. It is all about what your health insurance wants if you want to get the surgery covered.
  15. Aw, congrats! That is so awesome. You must be so happy.
  16. That's awesome. You can do this!
  17. That is awesome! I know exactly what you mean, though I found some awesome skirts at Goodwill. They are very forgiving.
  18. I understand this is a rant, and that you want to get some things out. But I don't agree with you right now. I might just have my rose tinted glasses on. I am 21 years old, and I like going with my friends to the club or going to the beach like any other Floridian, but around every corner with every bite of food... I am one step closer to diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, and the deluge of other problems that are in my family line. My father is diabetic and my mother is pre-diabetic. I don't care about not drinking a beer again, and I LOVE BEER. I want to have healthy children. I want to get married in a beautiful white dress after trying on a lot of them! I want to shop, eat, live without shame of my weight. This is surgery is to change my life. I know we all have regrets and could, woulda, shouldas. But I am not rerouting my intestines, I am shrinking my stomach to 25% of its size. The sleeve is not reversible and I do not want it to be. I need the help, and I want to be free of my fat suit.
  19. Wooohoo! Awesome, congrats on the awesome weight loss. Keep it up!
  20. Lol, I am ready to read it all! This is going to be interesting. Good luck!
  21. Lol, I understand the stress. I hate having naked nails, but it won't last long. I have to say all the protein in my diet is making for really strong nails though.
  22. Awesome. I am so glad to hear your approval went well. To borrow the term, I have two months left of "fat camp" appointments, and that is definitely my biggest worry. Good luck on your journey and hope you set a date soon!
  23. That's awesome. I will be happy if I lose my thighs. I am so disproportionate. It is ridiculous.
