Vommitting & Pain After A Fill
I would definitely contact your doctor asap. Throwing up brownish /black liquid is not normal at all, it may well be its unrelated to the fill or it could be a symptom of something else. If it was just that you were too tight and only having water you would be sick/productive burp with colourless watery foam. You may find it easier to swallow warm water it sometimes helps. Please contact your doctor and dont wait ...

Arthritis Pain And Lapband
Metformin comes in a powder form to mix with water, I was told by my doctor that u shouldnt crush or split metformin tabalets at all, the literature in my Metformin tablets clearly states to eat them whole only .. its to do with the time release formula or something, i would certainly talk to your surgeon about the pills u take for pain .. he might have some suggestions for you Good luck with it and i hope your pain eases as the weight comes off

*screaming*
Sounds like a nightmare to be honest, but i certainly wouldnt blame fate or divine intervention for delaying things, normally its incompetent office staff personally i would make a formal complaint to the surgeon, about the delay, after all they are his staff and he probably has no clue that these things are happeneing. Good luck and i hope u get a date soon

Im So Full
I would also not call any form of eggs mushies i have trouble with eggs whatever way they are cooked so i just dont eat them, to be honest i would check with your surgeon/nutritionist about what mushies entail ..

So Frustrated!
it does sound like u arent eating enough calories but i wouldnt increase them by 300 or so over night, try a week at an extra 100 calories a day made up of protein and dont add any more carbs or fat or sugar for now.. A weight loss plateau is part of losing weight over a long period of time just stick with it and keep trying different things to kick start you again , i was on a plateau for a few weeks but got flu, so i wasnt exercising and did loads of housework like cleaning paintwork etc, lost 4lbs that week which kick started me again. I am a great believer in making changes as sometimes your body get very used to things if u do them over and over again. Just make sure any changes u make are small and u should see something happen.

Partial Stomach Removal Does Not Necessarily Equate To Long Term Weight Loss Success.
Biggest Loser has had several ex bypass/sleeve patients who didnt quite stay slim We also have a tv programme here in the UK following one of out top gastric bypass surgeons and last week he mentioned that the intestines are very good at repairing themselves and adjusting to being shorter. In effect after around 9 months to 12 months post surgery the reduced absorbtion slowly increases so u end up absorbing nutrients in your intestines at a similar rate to pre-op. I had no idea this could happen and to me it makes me even more convinced that the band was right a 100% for me ... Initially post - op i did used to think would things have been easier for me if i had gone the gastric bypass route, particularly with the amount of weight i had to lose. Those thoughts didnt last long tho when i read more and more about bypass complications so i made sure that the band route i had chosen was the most successful i could make it. There are gastric bypass patients who havent lost as much weight as me .. testament to healthy eating and excercise can work if you have a little band help too lol I would still have all this spare skin whatever WLS i had chosen !

Not Being Able To Eat
I agree with B-52 stay with soft foods for a while and see if that helps..

Disheartened
You dont mention what you are doing at the moment like food intake and exercise ... It might well be u would find it easier to follow something like weight watchers, there is a whole thread on here for people doing WW and have a band, other's use myfitnesspal web site, or like me just follow a 1000 calories a day rule ( high protein /low fat/low carb ) . If u arent getting nutritional support from your surgeons office then find it somewhere else. Are u sure you have the amount of fill u say you have ? it seems a lot for someone who has been banded as short a time as u have... Good luck with it, it must feel like u are doing this alone with the little support your surgery is giving you

Confused On Where To Start?
At 18 yrs old you should be enjoying life as much as possible, if your weight is restricting your life then seriously consider getting some form of surgery done. It may be the lapband is best to suit you or one of the other surgeries. Get the information ou need, maybe attend some seminars and then make an informed decision based on whats best for you .. I was self pay too but this was an investment in me and it was worth every penny !

I'm Struggling
Dont be too hard on yourself with one fill nothing is really doing anything yet. You may need around 3 or 4 fills to get the full benefit of the band. You need to do something that takes your mind off food. Exercise is great for doing that and maybe everytime u are hungry drink water ro a hot drink like tea or weak coffee with skimmed milk.. some of what the band is capable of depends on you too so be pro-active in making it work

Getting Banded 3/12/12 Need Help With Diet Before And After Surgery
Your surgeon/nutritionist will give u all the information you need, as all surgeons have different requirements and for different lengths of time . Basically you will possibly have some form of pre-surgery diet ranging from liquids or low fat/carb for a specified time before, post op you will have a period of liquids some surgeons want clear liquids for a while others dont then u move on to mushies and finally normal food. Liquids can run between 1 and 4 weeks same for mushies ... but the time frame is a must to follow your surgeons instructions good luck!

Is A 5 Pound Gain Possible?
I think its highly possible to gain 5lbs from eating what u said you ate, u must also include the sweets and crackers of an evening that you ate during the week, time to get back to basics and allow your cheat weekend to be a learning experience and one not to be repeated Forgive yourself .. good luck !
