I never thought of the high protein diet actually triggering an attack. That sucks lol I am very careful to watch what I eat so I don't have an attack. I hope the surgery helps both of us! and Good luck to you as well

Thank you for your post it has affected me more than you know Thanks for helping me realize that I am worthy of this new gift of life. That I should be doing this for myself and not just for my kids because I deserve it. You are right about everything that you said. I think each pound of fat was a layer that someone had to get through so they couldn't hurt me. Well no more hiding here I come world. I deserve this lets do this! You made me realize that I am a hero for standing up for me and for fighting for me. My parents don't want me to get this surgery but I deserve it ! I don't want to be the victime anymore. I want to be strong. Thank you for your post you are truely an inspiration to us all!

This scaqres me because I already have thinning hair due to my medication for gout. If my hair also falls out due to weight loss I could imagine I will be bald. I am already using the generic form of rogaine at walmart it is only $8 for a month supply, but I will check out these other products. Thanks for all the wonderful advice even though I didn't post this lol

I know how you feel both my parents are against me having surgery. It sucks! They have both told me that I need to lose weight, but at the same time they are not supportive of the surgery! Niether one of them are obese so they don't know what it is like! I can't even find a bra that fits me lol. I can barely sit comfortable in a movie theatre seat or ride on a roller coaster with my kids! Just like the theme song "Parent's just don't understand" I am 34 and still seeking aproval from them I must be nuts! I guess we all just want support from our parents. I guess they will see when I look better and look healthier and I am able to live a longer life for my kids. So I totally understand how you feel!

I was wondering if there was anyone out there who had gout before surgery and wondering if the surgery helped them with gout or did it just stay the same? Thank you in advance. Gout is a form of artritis that is really painful. Would be totally relieved if it went away I really hope it does.

I feel your pain. I have four boys of my own and three step children. Two of those children have already lost their biological father he passed away . I went today to the hospital for per op blood work and almost backed out I was so scared. I am also going to school I start back on the 11th and will have to miss class for surgery lol. I hope to be back at school the following week so I don't fall behind. I totally feel your pain. Mabye we can overcome our fears together?
