  1. Linda WooHoooooo so glad things are going well!!! thats 10 month after a year - don't you get some cake!!! since you didn't mention otherwise, sounds like you are doing great with eating and working with your sleeve too much coffee??? now that i can relate to!!! but i'm doing better with that 77 lbs down!!!!!! keep up the great job for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer and sober life kathy congrats
  2. mubvashink soooooo sorry you are having such a rough time this is a support group, /no lectures, but...... we all care for you and want to help you get back on track my immediate advice is to immediately go back to Protein shakes, liquids for a week or even two if you can handle that it will help give you a kick in the asssss - giving you a jump start on losing a few lbs go through your pantry et al and throw all the "junk" - potato chips, Cookies et al i'm glad you gathered up the courage/strength to write us that was hard to do, so pat yourself on the back!!! you/we all know things can get rough the sleeve is around to assist you in eating better - but you have to control what you eat the sleeve is a life saver when you use it well/correctly be good to the sleeve and it will be good to you i/we/most of us can relate to your sadness/disappointed feelings Get Over It!!! today is a new day - and a new year is beginning take it slow as you get back on the wagon - don't expect yourself to all of a sudden do everything at once exercise is great!!! do some walking, and walking to get you back into the groove i know how smart you are - and i doubt you really forgot what to do with the sleeve - you just need a little nudge here we are don't drink while you eat wait 40 minutes after you eat before you drink drink at least 64 oz of Water eat protein, protein and then more protein - its good/necessary for you and dense protein like chicken really helps fill you up get used to eating small quantities "just becomes you can, doesn't mean you should" famous words to live by spoken be us sleevers you were able to eat that whole bagel - no restriction?? just know you are supposed to stop after a bit you sound like a busy lady - being a mom/full time student but i know you can be successful old cliche, but.............. today is the first day of the rest of your life don't let your disappointment get you down, causing you to eat more "we'll" help you with questions/statements/ support thats why we get the big bucks good luck hun kathy

E2013 phewwwww what a story insurance/doctors/waiting et al - what a pain you finally made it to the other side and all looks great bummer about having to take a 2 hour trip for WLS, and follow ups i can tell you realize that its all worth the extra "mile" doing great on prep for your eating and drinking... sounds like you have everything under control especially your mindset - which is 1/2 the battle!!! glad you've enjoyed reading all the posts these 7 months can't to see how you tell US things too December 19th WLS!!! thats just one day after December 18th here before you know it!!! remember PO drink slowly, sips, sips - as much as you can concentrate totally on drinking so you don't get dehydrated (which does happen) don't worry that much about getting in all your Protein that will come soon enough drink your protein shakes, that will do it!!! good luck speedy recovery kathy

WooHoo keep up the great work kathy congrats
  21. Sandee i hear you loud and clear!!! you are most definitely not alone w/your situation many, many, many people also suffer with aches and pains/back et al I was "sinking" in the same boat with you things do get better since you gradually take off lbs 2 years post op (goal) my joints have definitely improved good luck w/insurance kathy
  22. sandi i "respectively "disagree that making you have a sleep study test is a waste of time I also don't think your primary makes money from you taking the test my main thought/comment - is doc shouldn't have waited til last minute to tell you "all of a sudden" you need the test - thus delaying surgery DH sleeps like a "baby" too but.....he has sleep apnea - would never have known unless he was tested for your health it is better to know and "treat" the situation some people put their head in the sand, don't want to be bothered by the equipment, but it is beneficial to wear it, and as OP (nurse said - you can have heart issues crop up et al) sounds like you were approved by insurance without having sleep apnea but.....Sleep Apnea is considered a co-morbitity that helps insurance decide iif they will pay for WLS that comment/info is for others sorry for the delay of surgery btw i HAD sleep apnea as with many others - losing 105 lbs GOAL - i no longer have sleep apnea good luck with that and surgery speedy recovery sweet dreams kathy
