  8. startingoveryetagain at the very beginning - extra poundage did come off a good rate but...............as OP have said - you need to work your butt off off!!!! (literally, i lost it back there!! ) i am now in maintenence - and that can and is a bit harder for some/many/ ME no sitting back slumped in a chair - i still have to "work it" i will be watching what i eat and drink for the rest of my healthier, happier, longer life you will do great too great weight loss keep up the good work kathy congrats
  9. Christian WELCOME,WELCOME and WELCOME!!!! nice to meet you you sound like a great guy lets put the misunderstanding from earlier behind us and start a new newbies especially like to get new points of views, comments so please talk away we are a good bunch of people - really we are (especially me!!! ) what a wonderful weight loss as you know everyone always says, "never compare yourself to others" - so true 180 lbs - OMG - thats terrific betcha you will do great on your 1/2 marathon!!! the only running i do is going shopping at the mall keep up the great job kathy congrats
  10. I "think" the above by SKCUNINGHAM sums up alot of the other great comments the sooner you/me/all realize this is a forever new life the better as soon as you reach goal - you can't/must not rest on your laurels (msp)/or asssss continue to follow all the rules you've learned, for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kathy
  11. BeDe1C its kindof like balancing a book on your head, patting your tummy and chewing gum all at the same time you/me/we COULD do it - but its not adviseable not following those rules is never good i might/do sip a "little" Water sometimes - but i try not to good luck kathy
  12. u per Misty " it is. extremely possible with every kind of bariatric surgery. " Warning, warning to all newbies et al Misty/and I speak the truth if you eat/graze through out the day - when your stomach is empty - you will continue to eat more and more calories then you/me/we will gain weight it happens/ could happen to the best of us thats why this is considered a new life time way of eating newbie et al - this is a lifetime of eating correctly just because we are now sleeved doesn't mean we can go back to our old eating habits or you/me/we will gain the weight back good luck kathy
  13. raindrop sorry you aren't feeling well January 17th is more than 2 weeks away hopefully you will be fine there have been many other posts with people having a cold prior to/or the day of the WLS I "think" as long as you don't have a fever they can/will proceed with surgery feel better good luck speedy recovery kathy
  14. biglooser happy new year back at ya you've had a great year almost 100 lbs gone??? i'm holding the door open to the century club come on, you are so little now, just squeeeeze in 2014 will continue to give you a healthier, happier, longer life keep up the good job (i know you will ) kathy congrats
  15. toocheeky we can't change the past - its over and done with today is a new year - you want to get back on track, good for you the Protein et al are very, very important rules eat small meals, little pieces, chew thoroughly put utensil down a couple of minutes before you eat again as said by OP, never drink with meals people have been shot for less stop drinking about 15-30 minutes before you eat after you finish eating - do not drink for 45-60 minutes and drink, drink, drink all day - as much as possible - but at least 64 oz you are taking responsibility for "screwwwing up" - so now you can get your act back together its not easy, but no one ever said this voyage was easy and it is sooooo worth it how much weight did you initially lose - reached goal??? how much did you regain??? stick to the rules again, with the knowledge that once you lose, you need to make a life commitment to eating correctly this is your new way of life i see the determination in your face and i know you can get your act together again!!!! remember, work with the sleeve, and the sleeve will work with you "support group for compulsive over eaters, binge eaters, food addicts????" who the heck are all of us on the board??? chopped liver!!! we've got your back we ALL know you can do this keep reading the boards, come back with your questions and you'll get plenty of that much needed support from all of us thats what we're here for 2014 will be YOUR year!!!! congrats on your return to improved health with the sleeve good luck kathy
  16. perth one kg = 2.2 lbs, right so in the past 5 months you have lost 55 lb!! wonderful at 5 months your stomach has probably "relaxed" (not stretched) a bit - allowing you to eat slightly larger portions "this"is normal - happens to many/most/all of us over a time period the expression "just because you can, doesn't mean you should!" ie, just cuz you are able to consume 12 oz of chicken (stretching a point to make a point)you should/need to eat only 4 oz or so not sure why you are concerned enough about your weight loss to think about trying something else also?? if you want to do only liquids for a bit to jump start an additional weight loss, thats fine i think the rule of thumb is losing 10 lbs a month is good might be more sometimes or less i think you are doing great btw - at 5 months PO, things were going well with me i'm not a July sleever hope you didn't mind me talking to you keep up the good job 2014 will be a great new year kathy congrats
  17. missyjoy great pics 63.4 lbs down you are aces lady!!!! i find your "tummy" views amazing i remember when i first realized i wasn't carrying a beach ball either and i could actually look down from my breasts and NOT see that gigantic tummy!!! how cool is that??? keep up the good work (i know you will! ) here's to the great new year for all of us 2014 looks like a winner!!! happy new year kathy congrats congrats

  20. Hahaha apparently I'm not up on the lingo! rmubvashrink a ticker shows your weight loss ie your starting weight could be 750 lbs. ....as you lose weight you make a change on the ticker showing you've lost for example 5 lbs or the ticker can show your BMI, in the same way, showing the number decreasing i used to have a ticker, but changed it with an explanation of my weight loss instead in my signature file anyways - directions for ticker 101 (other newbies also can listen ) hope i say this right........... go to your small picture at the top of the page click on your name "my ticker" will appear in the "pull downs" push "it" proceed and push "create ticker" then continue to follow instructions i can tell you are a smart cookie I'm sure you can figure it out hope i said this right not the best at directions somebody else might chime in with better way to do this great weight loss good luck kathy congrats
  21. lost over 150lbs or more with VSG? LaylaJ i have seen others that also need to lose 100+ lbs i know there are success stories how long did it take for them to lose??? answer will vary all of us are different, no matter what their/your/my necessary weight loss is we lose at our own speed never compare your weight loss to how others lose people have been shot for less there is a thread called "Weight Loss Specific Gastric Sleeve" people post in their specific area of necessary weight loss there is a group of people who need to lose 100+ lbs good luck with jumping threw the hoops of insurance you have my sympathy (been there done that!!!) starting the process of getting the sleeve what a great way to end one year - and start a new here is to 2014 and a healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy
  22. want2besleeved87 no apologies necessary about venting many of us have been there, done that i have seen similar stories on the board about doc's office not sending/or receiving insurance forms, documents, stuff like that yes, you do need to keep after them hopefully/i'm sure, this will get taken care of sooner than later you will get approved - and be on the way to WLS, and a healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It"
  23. rmub "one foot in front of the other"??? thats good, otherwise you might fall on your face!!!! doesn't it feel great, feeling great??? ahhhhhh - i thiink so!!! you are doing a great job happiness is contagious all your hard work has been paying off these past 11 months wish i/we could see your ticker (hint, hint)!!! keep up the good job kathy congrats
