Bronco0605 People that never had a weight problem - "just don't get it!!!!" you, me, most of us have been able to successfully lose weight over the years, and the years, and the....... we just can't keep it off!!!! we don't want to gain the weight back + more :ph34r: when someone says something about exercise, eating better to you - I would smile (while gritting my teeth) say thanx but.............i've thought alot about having WLS, it is/was a big decision - and this is what i'm gonna do. end of sentence - you don't need to discuss or explain yourself anymore!!! (its too bad we feel the need to have to defend ourselves - but.............) 36 lbs gone pre-op good for you all the less to lose post op you are off to a great start keep up the good work good luck on Tuesday speedy recovery congrats

  4. lotti not a bad idea you are being pro-active!!!! you are not letting the hair "rule" you you decided to take action - and cut it first, there fore saying "screwwww you to your hair" i'm gonna lose like i want to btw, i see the new hairstyle suits you!!!! I shaved my head 15 years ago pre-chemo, made me feel powerful don't suggest that for you or others!!! good luck beautiful kathy

  12. i was not heavy til my late teens since then my mother has always made an issue of my weight (4 siblings, spouses et al - all average size) for my b'day mom would always put a candle in a WW cupcake!!! she would "look me up and down" in reference to my weight i don't think we should ever blame anyone else for being overweight..........but she sure didn't help we went clothes shopping today (she's 83) i can wear a size 4, but truly a 6 fits and feels better when we were shopping i picked up a pair of pants size 6 she said "hmmmm, don't you think you should try an 8!!!!" i'm going crazy here will she ever give me a break??? :ph34r: thanx for listening to me vent DOS 12/15/11 235 lbs 5'3 11/13/13 130 bls GOAL still 5'3

  14. here comes the lone ranger!!! one month shy of being 2 years PO - I have never had the cold experience everyone speaks of i know i luckily don't get as hot and sweaty as i did in the "good ol' days" otherwise no change do to temp i'm only cold when the normal syracuse, ny winter hits us!!!! bundle up everyone!!!! you know what they say...... cold hands warm heart or - warm hands - hot body kathy
  15. Oh I am most definitely going to get some tattoo's! I am one month shy of being 2 years PO reached goal one year ago I got a tattoo with the 3 letters on my right wrist, with a heart under each letter M organ A ndrew E than :wub: :wub: :wub: they are the reason i am a very "proudgrammy" I promised my DH i won't get another tattoo for the next 57 years kathy
  16. taking medicine daily, i am a controlled epileptic about 5 months PO, I had lost about 60 lbs i had a seizure since i was taking too much meds for my new lighter self neurologist knew i was having WLS - did't forsee any problem meds were reduced thanx to WLS, and i have been seizure free these past months i have lost 105 lbs, GOAL - and I'm a very happy camper too good luck i hope this gets figured out soon kathy

  18. rivergirl you will see/hear on the board the common phrase.............. "the one thing we all have in common is that we are all different"!!!!! some people are up and around and feeling great almost immediately!!! surgery on Friday, work on Monday all went fine with my surgery/recovery, but.............. i was not ready to do jumping jacks in a week - nor would i want to cook a big meal!!!! i know you are very important - but they can "try" and do for themselves and as "they" say.............. "let em eat cake" !!!!! LOL good wishes with surgery speedy recovery kathy
