Tbird49 i understand your very sad but true thoughts you/me/many/most us have had similar thoughts one time or another I/others have frequently felt sorry for their sad "situations" above being said.............. i'm so grateful and happy that i decided to forge ahead with major surgery to assist me in gaining my health and happiness back It took me awhile - but i realized i can't live in the past as many/most others on the board have said - "they wish they had done this surgery years ago" but..........we can't/shouldn't stay in the past - regretting our "old self" we can't change what has happened in years past i/we must live today - look forward for tomorrow - and be excited for the future i am sending you many, many, good thoughts, with a couple of nice huggs too I see a terrific new life knocking at your door good luck with your pending WLS, and your new wonderful healthier, happier, longer life kathy

Post op excess skin.
sleeveforkayla it is NOT a must that you have plastics after you lose your weight you won't get arrested if you don't have cosmetic surgery i lost 105 lbs - reaching my goal i do have plenty of extra skin i "lost" my rear end so the skin is just kindof hangin' around same is true with my inner thighs and below my arms i had a tummy tuck about 15 years ago i "think" thats why my tummy didn't get big, rolls i also didn't/couldn't deal with the price "looks" like your still pre-op??? don't know for sure cuz you don't have a ticker or profile (hint, hint ) good luck bud kathy

Black Diamond was that you i saw doing cart wheels in the mall yesterday??? wonderful weight loss 3 cheers for you the doc did a test on your throat saying all is well but...............it it persists for quite a while go to the doc again!!! you/everyone needs to be aggressive about their health just because the doc says all is ok - it has happened that finally "they" say, "oh yes, i do see a prob" something like that i'm sure/hopefully all will be well sooner than later keep up the good work kathy congrats

discuraged
jamiewilli how could i ever "yell" at someone as nice as you???? also - "we" never use the word "only" you didn't only lose 35 lbs YOU LOST 35 lbs!!!! thats terrific you are right on target with your weight loss some people might have lost more than you, others less the one thing we all have in common is that we're all different you are sooooo early post op - your tummy is still healing please only eat soft food, maybe some solids too per doc/NUT you know you shouldn't be eating pizza, wings or stuff like that so i won't mention it the expression is............. just because you can, doesn't mean you should talk to your NUT/surgeon go to a support group where you'll meet other sleevers you know what to do and what NOT to do this surgery will/does work, as long as you follow the rules please don't sabatoge yourself now thinking, you've never had success before, so why now???? the reason now, is you have a helper in the sleeve your tummy is so little - its "supposed" to hold only a small amount of food you don't vomit if you eat too much????? many people don't don't push yourself to get sick i know you can do this - got to mentally tell yourself that "this time you will do it" you can and will do it!!!!! take care good luck kathy

Is Age a factor ?
gemi I believe there have been recent Medicare laws improving coverage on VSG in many more states your health will substantially improve as you lose weight with the help/assistance of the sleeve "you work with the sleeve, and the sleeve will work with you" you have to do alot of hard work, follow rules for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life you want to fix those joints et al - the surgery is totally worth it i no longer take insulin/meds for diabetes II - no more high blood pressure meds - CPAP is gone!!!!! I was never warned about any additional risks due to age i had VSG 1 month before my 58th b'day its almost 2 years later - i have lost 105 lbs - reached and maintaining goal 10 months and counting i was 57 years OLD, when i had my surgery after losing my excess weight with the help of the sleeve, i am now 59 years YOUNG best of luck to you and your sister kathy
