Party dance, party dance amazing, awesome, great, incredible??? hope you are not getting bored by those words cuz you'll continue to hear them for a long time as far as the doc is concerned - have some smelling salt around, just in case keep up the good job kathy congrats
  3. gmanbat interesting thought I "like" the fact that you are always here with your good advice and humor and support so.........i like to push your button empathy and solidarity how true!!! the laugh option...... hmmmmm.....sometimes i might be ROFLA - i can't reach the button i do "like" to push the "approval" button alot because i do think a post/reply is good i think most of us are pretty smart "cookies" with helpful comments/info/support but, its nice when someone acknowledges you and they (the poster) feel they are being listened to i like to respond to many, many posts (except MsSkinniness ) ooooops , please don't tell her i luv ALL you sleevers (unless i don't)LOL this board has always been so good to me luv ya alllll kathy
  4. bashmom WooHoo Guess what....... you are the one millionth satisfied "customer" your prize/or punishment.. ...... Protein shakes delivered to your doorsteps for the rest of your life so glad you are so happy and successful spread the good word to all, newbies et al sometimes "some/we" nee that extra push/encouragement from people like you!! and that all good things come to those who "weight" /wait keep up the good work kathy congrats
  5. Ellijay WooHoo You did it!!!! sorry about your gas issues You are doing the right thing by walking, and then walking, and walking some more that will help alot sorry you are in some discomfort since you JUST had WLS, you hopefully/should start to feel improvement hour by hour - then definitely each day will be better you have a lot to "take in" - new rules, drinking, moderation, eating slowly, chewing thoroughly many new things all NEWBIES have to remember - but it will be worth it Water, WATER, WATER and then more water - all the water rules are very, very important right after surgery, for a few days, water is more important than Protein get as much water as you can (taking small sips) - if you have no problems with the shakes, thats great but if you are having "issues" drinking the shakes, getting your protein in - don't worry can't tell you enough that water is the most important thing you don't want to get dehydrated (it happened to me ) then you have to go back to the hospital for IV's i can see the determination and strength in your eyes follow your NUT's direct instructions - always, but basically........ don't eat for about 1/2 an hour before you eat a meal never drink while you eat don't drink for about 45-60 minutes after you eat then start over and drink all day, at least 64 oz you, and everyone else hopefullly/probably knows this - but worth repeating you are on your way to a healthier, happier, longer life!!!! good luck youngun speedy recovery i'm raising a "prtoein" shake to your health kathy
  6. Velexia83WELCOME WELCOME glad you've "checked" us out and decided to join our "club" Never can have too many smiling faces look, learn and listen lots of great info "enjoy" jumping through all the hoops to hopefully get approved by insurance you are on your way to a healthier, happier, longer life enjoy the ride good luck kathy
  7. mrsrichardharrow there are only two guarantees in life death and taxes "we're" all biased on the sleeve board - saying that the sleeve is the best WLS the sleeve IS the best of course, thats why we're here silly head malabsorption problems go hand in hand with the bypass other problems too you can & many do stretch their pouch 85% of our stomach has been cut out of our lives with the sleeve their are different discussions, but my NUT/surgeon say that you cannot stretch your sleeve unless you graze all day, eat soooo much continueally - you will vomit get sick the "stretchy" part of the stomach i was told was "cut" out some/many/most sleevers/NUTS/surgeons go along with this theory of course you have to totally follow all the "rules" of eating, moderation, chewing - eat slowly - and of course Water, WATER, WATER anything will fail if you don't do what you are supposed to do i can see you are a smart "cookie" please don't 2nd guess yourself now you will love the sleeve it will be the beginning of your new, healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy

  10. Did you keep a "before" outfit? Started by Catherine707, 48 minutes ago no after goal (105 lbs down), i went to Kohl's where i always bought my 2X blue jeans i knew exactly where to go in the plus size to find the jeans i picked up the 2X i always bought "standard jeans" type with elastic waist band took into the changing room, put on over my "new and improved" size 4 i just stared at myself in shock and sadness i realized what i used to look like but thats "behind" me I then bought the jeans they will always hang in my closet as a reminder only looking forward - enjoying my healthier, happier life Catherine - 57 lbs down woo hoo happy dance, happy dance keep up the good job congrats
  11. slkchik10 nice, very true sound advice for all especially NEWBIES kathy
  12. Markyjr 50 lbs does sound like alot , but if thats what the doc wants.......... 20 lbs down woo hoo!!!! 30 lbs to go you are almost 1/2 way there!!! i know you will do your best!!!! docs want people to lose weight before WLS - it helps shrink your liver doc wants to see that you are sticking to a program - and you are working very hard to lose weight then he will see that you really want the WLS, and you will be successful with your journey i have confidence in you that you will lose 30 more lbs but - IF you can't lose all the necessary weight, but come close, probably/hopefully there won't be a problem i can see the determination in your pretty eyes do the best you can/and thhen some!!! good luck kathy

  17. donewithdieting your hard work of losing 74 lbs and "losing" alcohol - what can i say??? very happy for you!! can't relate to the drinking, but i think some/many/most of us can relate to being obsessed over food - so drink is right there too raising my wine glass (filled with Water ) to your health and happiness best of luck to you kathy congrats

  20. Any people with type 2 diabites had surgery? Started by Heather Meyer, Today, 1:57 AM Heather I saw the title above you posted i said to myself, "are you kidding me?" soooooo many people here unfortunately are diabetic (me, me ) many, many, many people's diabetes improves post diabetes - less insulin, meds but............in my case and many many other sleevers - diabetes is just a horrible "memory" I no longer take medicine for diabetes my high blood pressure is now extinct i've had epilepsy since i was 16 (don't tell anyone, but that was 43 years ago, our secret ok ) maybe an NSV too, since i feel better about myself - i realize theres no reason to be ashamed of an illness i couldn't controll getting I'm almost always controlled with my meds (many people aren't controlled, so i'm lucky) as i was losing weight, my doc reduced my dosage of meds - then by the time i was 105 lbs down - my meds are now cut in half from what i used to take that is an unexpected WONDERFUL NSV its like a baby wouldn't take the same dose as an adult..........or someone who weighs 130 lbs, will take less meds than someone who weighs 235 lbs its like a baby wouldn't take the same dose as an adult..........or someone who weighs 130 lbs, will take less meds than someone who weighs 235 lbs oh dear, i'm talking about myself not you repeating, your diabetes should/will drastically improve - if not disappear your on your way to enjoy a healthier, happier, longer life!!!! enjoy good luck with WLS speedy recovery kathy

  23. Do you think one slice... eeeeeeeek, oh nooooooooo yet another pizzza question not laughing at you personal joke between me and a few hundred other sleevers btw at 3 months, 1 slice won't "kill" you - but its not as good for you as ............fill in the blank i would continue Protein first, then lottttttts of Water good luck ginger kathy
  24. deedee first off - woo hoo on your weight loss i'm sure you see a gigantic change with your clothes size (34 to 22!!!!) wow trying to speak "gently", i can only imagine how hard it must be to have to lose alot of weight you've done amazing - but you still have to lose more since you have unfortunately stalled (which you know we all do) it must be very mentally upsetting since you do have more to lose do to the fact you have stalled - you are probably feeling bad/upset and are eating that little extra junk that you know you shouldn't some, many have been there - upset, not losing enough - so we eat??? knock it off!!!!! i know you can turn things around you've proven how terrific you are, knowing how to follow the rules et al it can get discouraging losing lots of weight, knowing you have more to lose - but you will be successful!!! i can see the determination you have in your pretty face yes you have a lot on that plate of yours it must be overwhelming!!!! having a tooth pulled, closing on your house, moving, and going back to work after 4 years OMG - i don't know how many people could do that without feeling overwhelmed but you will pass this hurdle things will slowly get better - you will have closed on your beautiful new house you will successfully have moved, you will enjoy working again and that darn tooth will be gone look at all those accomplishments you will have done!!! glad you are "not hungry" - that must help but your hands get "lonely" and they want you to exercise telling you to lift hand, insert food STOP, STOP, STOP you can/will win this battle glad you haven't gained weight, sounds like you have gained insight i don't know what/how a vegetarian eats- can't help you on that situation if you want to go back to basics to give yourself a jump start on losing some weight - go for it!!! push, push, push everything you can/will do great i know you will get back into the proper old habits you have learned drink, drink, drink, and then drink some more glad that you come to the board for support - we're all out here for ya i see you are soooooo close to twoderland!!!! come on, come on - you are almost there - you can make it, i know you can!!!! good luck bud kathy
