  1. My best friend saw me after a couple of weeks and said...You have a bobble head. People have always told me I have a big head, but I can't tell because I look at it everyday. But my best friend...and now I am getting all of the...You are getting too skinny. My mom is the only one who is like...keep going...lose as much as you can. I feel like I could lose more and look ok. I am not even a size 8 yet I couldn't even stop losing weight if I wanted to. It is going where it is going. I really need some good come backs...I mean really good ones...that shoot an arrow straight back into their heart, but I am not that Witty. Suggestions. I am, as of the morning, down 109 pounds. At 5'11" I am 182 On my doctor's scale I would probably be 178. I am still overweight Let the comebacks begin!
  2. sometimes I think I am snacking a lot, but when I actually add it all up I am still losing weight and eating hardly anything. You really gotta see how much you are eating. Protein is important for muscles and keeping them. I forgot my vitamins for awhile When I don't take my vitamins I can see the effects in my nails. The peel at the bottom of the cuticle. I like gummy vitamins. It is like a treat. Don't be too hard on yourself.
  3. I am at my Dr's Goal, and i don't want to lose anymore as I really think this is a nice place for me, but I am going to lose more. Not sure when it will stop. There is alot that could still go, but I really like where I am. As usual I am scared.
  4. Work out BEFORE SURGERY. START NOW. Then after, once your DR. says ok...you will already be ready...it will already be a part of your life. You will lose muscle (which is ok because you don't need all that muscle since you won't weight as much) but you don't want to lose too much. Your protein supplements may not be enough so you have to make sure you are building and maintaining as much muscle as you can through excersize. I had a HUGE BUTT. Didn't work out...It is GONE! I MEAN GONE. I am a flat pancake...DO YOU WANT TO BE A FLAT PANCAKE This is my biggest regret.
  5. I don't take all of this so seriously except for 3 things: Do not overeat...learn to eat less. For the first six months do not eat 1200 calories..eat 600 to 800 (so many people disagree, but this is your time to really lose) as i am in month 10 and it is really slow now because YES you can eat more and YES you are more hungry. USE THAT TIME TO KILL IT ON THE SCALE. My regret - not working out beforehand. I really messed that one up. I hope to start one day soon.
  6. I was at a trade show and this guy who I advertise with came up to me and said...Hi, my name is David. I know Susan that works at your Museum. Can you tell her I said hello! I was like...I am Susan. That was pretty crazy! Other than that I am feeling pretty thin. I am 185, a size 10 top, 12 bottom and slowly still losing. I am happy here, but ok with losing more too. Some people notice, but they don't know what to say or maybe they think to themselves...Wasn't she a big girl?
  7. It didn't stop becoming a chore for me until my 7 month. I am probably an extreme case.
  8. I am 5"11" - Started at 291 - Am now 186. I still have a lot of fat that could come off in my stomach, but my thighs are not saggy like they show on TV, but nonetheless they are not so great. My butt went from being huge to nothing so I can feel the skin all over my behind. I have finally comitted to start working out (starting this weekend of course). I had been big since a teenager and had stretch marks. My arms are not that bad, and I honestly don't care so much about my tummy...Just my thighs and butt. I will have something done probably...but I have to see what happens when I start doing my squats.
  9. You need to be around 800 calories or less. Are you hungry?
  10. 190! That is so great for you! Hopefully this summer you will sweat the rest off!
  11. You are tall and I worry if you have had the restriction I have had you will be 120 pounds when all is said and done. You being 150/160 is a perfectly fine weight for you. You are 70/80 pounds over. You will lose that before the six months is up. Your body regulated itself for many years. You gained a little with the kids, but it wasn't 60 pounds. What do you attribute your weight gain to? You are just saying getting older, but that is 60 pounds. Are you on any new medications? Did you go through anything hard? Did you lose yourself in your children (less workouts/more fast food)? I mean these are very important questions. People who are naturally thin just don't pop up and gain 60 pounds overnight just because they turn 40. Most of the people in my family are naturally thin, some of them gain weight. They can not cope with stress as two aunt's went through a divorce, but if they found out a way to take time for themselves, deal with the stress and just went for a walk the weight would come off. Then my other Aunt who was a size 2 her whole life is now a size 12 because of Crestor (Cholestorol Meds). She is in her 60's. Do not allow your poor body image (and I know what this is like) destroy you. You have something that is already working in your favor - your body. This is BIG decision, but is it the right decision for you. I would try to look for people who were the same height and needed to lose the same amount of weight as you. It worries me that you will in fact, lose too much. There is someone on her who made it to her goal weight 5 months in...Only had to lose 60 pounds or something like that. When I was 235 I never even considered this surgery even though I knew about it. I really didn't think about the surgery until I knew I could never physically do what it takes to get the weight off. If my back had healed I would have done the work, and I was up against genetics and myself (addictions). And I was hovering around 300 pounds.
  12. What happened to you in those years of gaining? You are saying something about becoming 40, but that is very vague. You were naturally thin. All of your extreme behaviors are messing up your body’s ability to regulate itself.
  13. There are different opinions on here. If you can get your protein in I would personally stick to eating the lowest amount of calories. Your portions will get bigger naturally over time and if your skin is going to be saggy I also believe it doesn't matter how fast you lose it - It will still be saggy even if you lose it slow. To me it is a race. I can eat WAY more than I could in the beginning. I am glad I couldn't eat anything the first 6 months. My body had more than enough reserves to manage organ function and I got enough fluids in. My body is not starving. I am probably eating about 1000 calories a day now. I TRY SO HARD to EAT LESS, but there is no way. I figure in another couple of months I should be around 1500 calories. That is a good place for me to be in maintenance - hopefully.
  14. I was at Denny's yesterday and what I love is that I drench the pancakes in syrup and butter and eat like 3 bites. I ate eggs first of course! I used to be like you at first, but now I am shifting into this whole...THANK GOD I CAN'T PIG OUT ANYMORE! It makes me feel so empowered even though I am not really controlling the quantity anymore - my tummy is. HOW MANY TIMES did I eat and eat and eat and thought to myself...WHY AM I DOING THIS? WHY CAN'T I STOP EATING? And then crying because I was fat and couldn't control my portions. I JUST ATE AND ATE AND ATE and then ATE MORE LATER. I love being full off of a small portion of food. IT BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES that I NO LONGER AM A SLAVE TO FOOD. I DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO OVER EAT. It is nothing short of a miracle.
  15. I lost probably 50%. Started in month 4. Still losing, but has slowed down. No regrowth yet. Tomorrow is my 9 month surgiversary.
  16. In high school how much did you weigh? Have you been big your whole entire life?
  17. I love them. I am paying paying paying! You can pay off early. I had 18 month no interest on $15,900. I hope to pay it off. I will have to sell everything I own. No wonder I need clothes.
  18. Are you 12 pounds below 150? At 5'8" how do you feel?
  19. I know this is not supposed to go here. More people read this so I thought I would try again. I am getting pretty needy at this point. I owe the IRS so what I thought I was going to get back to buy some clothes - not happening. I am going to have to reach out to my friends on facebook too!
  20. If anyone has any dresses please send them my way!
  21. I am scared too. My belly button gets no air and sweats so I have to clean it out everyday and keep a paper towel in it to keep the moisture out. My tummy is starting to hang. I want it done, but plastic surgeons scare me.
  22. I don't have a goal. The Doctor said 180, and I said 160, but I also did not know I was 71 inches! I am going to land where I land. I would be fine where I am, just getting into better shape. I would be happy around 160, but I don't think I would be happy under 160 or maybe even under 170. I don't know. I still think I am chubby now.
  23. I had a nervous breakdown this weekend. It is so stupid, but I was deeply distraught, and I don't know what happened. I am 5'11" I went to get my body fat done and the woman measured me and she said you are 71 inches. I just said her height thing was wrong, and I am 70 inches. I have been 70 inches since I can remember. So I go to my grandmother's and my aunt measures me. I am 71 inches!!!!!!!!! When did this happen? I mean NOT ONE DOCTOR ever said 71 inches. I can't really recall when the last time I was actually measured. I am not 5'10" I am 5'11" I am a GIANT. And I lost 100 pounds as of TODAY!
  24. I had a small fever for a couple of days. Doctor said it was normal. It was about 99 to 100.
