I'm almost 4 weeks out. I was and still am sore especially on my lower left side under my ribcage. I didn't think the pain wasn't as bad as some others seemed to have experienced. I did have the On Q ball which I guess it makes a big difference. My soreness had gotten a lot better but, the day before yesterday I vomited for the first time since surgery so, I'm really sore now. It felt like something was ripping inside me. I guess I ate to much or to fast.

Otherwise, I haven't had any problems with food or getting my liquids. I also have fatigue. It's not real bad but more like an overwhelming need to take naps during the day. I have been walking and so far I've worked up to 2 miles per day.

This is a common question and likely you will get many responses. My advice to you is this: Be Patient! You WILL have stalls, this in no way means your body has stopped losing, nor will it mean you are necessarily doing anything wrong or failing. You will have to roll with the punches. Always stay positive and look toward all the wonderful things that are happening for you, and focus less on the scale moving every single day... because it won't.

Read up here as much as you can, you will find so many questions and answers for Post Op patients.

A Q ball is a time-released pain management tool. A lot of surgeons are using it for post-op pain, it doesn't make you drowsy the way opiates do. I did not have one and I did not have much pain at all.

Insofar as the first few weeks, I could not drink more than 32 oz the first 10 days and I didn't get more than 400 calories in until about six weeks post-op. I felt okay, tired for about two weeks, but I could move around fine. Turning over in bed was painful right after surgery and maybe for the first week.

I am not really sure what you want to know...I recovered fine and reached goal a while ago, don't regret anything!

As Diva explained there is no correct answer to this question.

What happens post op is all over the page, from feeling fine with absolutely no issues to being sick as a dog and wishing you hadn't done it.

I generally felt crappy and had malaise and tiredness. It went on and eased up over a course of like 2 months and then I started feeling fine and things have been generally good since then.

Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

@Foxbins- Congrats on making your goal weight!!

Everyone is different but I youtubed my videos (below on my link). There's so many different emotions and feeling going through people but I was mostly tired, fatigued, my sleeping schedule was off, and very gassy. Not hungry at all and hated food the first 2 weeks. Starving in my head but didn't want to put any food because it's a fresh surgery and I wasn't even hungry. Trying to remember to eat, take Vitamins, medication and wait to drink water/protein shakes 30-45 mins before/after- I was a hot mess. Lost 21 pounds the first month- Water and fat.

Tomorrow is 6 weeks post op. In the end--I don't regret a thing, yes I would do this again. Hope I helped

The first week was the hardest for me, I woke up from surgery with horrible gas pain, and very nauseous, I was like that for the first 2 days. Then I only had the gas, and I was very tired. On day 8 magic happened, my doctor told me I could start taking my multi vitamins and my b12 and all the fatigue went away. My tummy is only upset when I eat too fast, or gulp water. My incisions never hurt, not even at the hospital, I was given a prescription for pain and I only used like 2 pills, I thought they might relieve the gas pain but they didn't, so I never used them again. I did have my period a few days after surgery and it was the worst period ever, but the second one was like normal.

YES!!!!! Read old threads on all the forums and you will read the worst and the best scenario over and over again. That helped me SO MUCH! I was prepared for pretty much anything because of posters here. I honestly couldn't think of anything to type on the "I wish someone had told me" thread because I read and read for weeks on this website.

In my case, when I woke up I remember a crushing feeling on my chest and thinking "that is gas". lol I immediately went back to sleep and that never happened again. When I tried to walk the first time I dry heaved and had severe acidity and that was hellish for a good 25 minutes or so. After that it was a breeze. I knew the feeling of excess acid (again, thanks to this website) so my meds got readjusted a few times, I was never tired, in pain, depressed etc. I was happy!!!

Positivity and preparing for the worst by reading on this website helped me a ton! Best wishes!

Are you 12 pounds below 150? At 5'8" how do you feel?

thank you everyone so far...i must say i am a type of person that deals better knowing what could happen worst case senerio and being happy with anything that is better then what i am already prepared with. Reading everyones post are kinda scaring me but also giving me knowledge and will help me not be so scared if any of these things happen.

@june13sleever--Yes, I weigh 138. I feel great! I am not "too skinny." I still have D cup boobs. In fact, my measurements are 35-29-38, a far cry from the 46-41-54 I started with. I am 57 and and have hypothyroidism, too, so I was a little worried that weight loss might be really slow or I might not get to my goal of 150. I just wish I had looked like this years ago.
