  1. It doesn't upset me at all. I do look at portion sizes and think it is outrageous what restaurants serve. I almost think it is criminal. My boyfriend can chow down. I probably miss it more than anything. Feeling full is not the same feeling anymore even when I can't eat another bite. I really miss that feeling. I have been watching fear factor and when they eat really gross things I get really sick!!
  2. I am so sorry for posting about a stall. I did however look up posts about stalls and really couldn't find much on my situation which may not really be a stall, but rather an increase in calories. I think I was just feeling tired. I was losing pretty well without exercizing, but middle of December I was just so tired. I sort of thought to myself...I NEED TO EAT...I can't keep eating 500 calories a day! So I ate more...the easiest thing was ice cream. I wanted calories without feeling stuffed. I probably still never went over 1200 calories in a day, but that was a big jump in consumption for me. I have only lost 2 pounds and have 7 days left until my monthly weigh in. It is ok that I lost two, but I just wish I could have made it to 190 before this happened. Then I am also fearful that my goal of 160 will be impossible to maintain if by eating 1200 calories a day I only lost 2 pounds. I am going to start working out next week. I have been very sick the past week so it got postponed. I guess we will have to see what happens once I start working out a four to five times a week. The increase in calories made me feel SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better and it seemed like my hair loss slowed. I really would love to stick around 1200, but I won't be able to lose the weight at that calorie count. So weird. I think I need a break from the scale. Next Friday I will weigh for my monthly, but after that I will wait another month to weigh myself. I will commit to working out. I really want to get to 160! I will try to stick to 800 to 1000 calories for the next month. If I lose a nice number like 10 to 15 I will bump it up to 1200 for the following month. Looking back on the last six months I wish I would have worked out, but I was so exhausted. I will not let the next six months go by without working out!
  3. This is where I laugh all the time. I could have died or ended up with some serious complications. Other than that, for me, this was absolutely the easy way out and thankfully this way existed. I mean why would you want to do it the hard way when there is an easier way. Losing weight is a full time job for us fatties and losing weight is not the kind of job I want. I am certain that in the next 5 months I will have to put some effort into losing the remaining weight until goal, but anything that will get me to where I need to be easier and faster...I will take it. I struggled long enough with the weight gain and losses - I was over it! So I paid for a scary, but excellent tool which makes it easier for me to lose weight. I don't really see this surgery as hard, but if anyone says to me...why did you take the easy way out...I would say to them...why wouldn't I? Struggling is overrated!
  4. My pain lasted 5 to 6 weeks. Some people seemed to have no pain... I couldn't get out of bed without feeling like my stomach was being pulled out of me. I can see what a tummy tuck is going to feel like. I won't be able to walk for a month! It was intense pain for 5 weeks with every movement.
  5. 296 to 204. This will be my last pic in the 200's! Only 5 more pounds away until 199! I should get there by January 13th! Where will I stop no one knows, but I will do another pic in June for my one year surgiversary! I want to stop at 160, but would be happy anywhere under 200! I have not even started to work out yet! That is coming in January too!
  6. Great it says: NSAIDS: contraindicated LIFELONG due to risk bleed in relatively ischemic pouch and INACCESSIBLE remnant stomach I HAVE TO TAKE ADVIL during my period! It is the only thing that gets rid of the most horrible cramps!!!!
  7. I take my vitamins, but with the whole don't take calcium and iron at the same time I just said screw them both. I know, not good. I will take iron for a couple of weeks and forgo the calcium since I eat a lot of cheese I will see if that helps. I want a nap like everyday!
  8. I think I will hit the Target and Old Navy Clearance rack this weekend. I wish they had Weight Loss Surgery Clothing Swaps! That would be fun!
  9. how can you tell it is growing back?
  10. While I see a lot of people have so much energy I sort of feel the same as I did pre sleeve. I actually feel even more tired. I get more bursts of energy than before, but most of the time I am really fatigued. I am in month 7 and still probably eating 700 to 1000 calories a day. It is the winter so that of course will make me more tired than normal, but I get enough sleep and just can't seem to perk up in the AM. I don't drink coffee or take in any caffine. I am wondering if anyone else has felt this way and maybe what their doctor said if you got it checked out. Will do a little research, but I supposed I really need my blood work taken to point out any problems. I really am not taking the Iron like a should and don't get much iron from food. But I am not taking in much of anything so what could it be
  11. Currently in month 7 since surgery. I started losing my hair around month 4. How long will I continue to lose? It is still coming out fairly fast. I had to dye my hair in month 5 and in that process ALOT came out, but my hair really needs some coloring again. I am still not eating very much, and I really don't have any money or patience to take supplements. I just want to know when it will stop from your experience.
  12. I probably won't go back to see the Doctor who did my surgery. I don't have a primary care physician. I am going to make an appoinment with one today or tomorrow. Can the primary care doctor have my vitamin levels checked? What is the process? I remember the doctor who did my surgery wrote a prescription for the blood work, but then didn't tell me where to go and get it done so I just didn't do it. I am sort of at a loss of what to do.
  13. I have lost probably the bulk of the weight, but it seems every month I am losing a size or 1/2 size (which still makes for saggy pants). I absolutely can not afford to keep buying. I have 3 pants and maybe 2 dresses and shirts that fit me. I went through my closet again this weekend and it is practically bare. I am not a shopper, and I don't really like to shop, but for these next six months I am going to have to buy some very cheap things to get me through to my surgiversary in June. WHERE DO I SHOP? WHAT DO I DO! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  14. These meals are my lifeline. I eat one for dinner almost every night. The salt helps me retain the fluids I do drink as I am still not drinking enough daily.
  15. I have, since surgery, weighed myself every monday and the monthly anniversary date (13th). Anymore than that just doesn't make sense. I seriously don't want to do that anymore. Maybe I should go to every other Monday and the Anniversary date until I get to my final weight. Or maybe I should just do the 13th of every month Next monday I will see how I am feeling! I don't see it being a problem at all. I really don't want to weigh myself at all! My fear is losing too much and that is why I weigh in. I guess I don't even really have to worry about losing too much until I actually do and then weighing will be important. You know what. I think I am just not going to weigh until the 13th of next month and just see what happens! I am so close to being under 200 that I would rather just have that big moment than maybe 2 moments leading up to it!
  16. It has been __________months since my surgery on ____________________ and have lost _______________________. I currently weigh_________________ and have _____________________ pounds left to reach my final goal of _____________________. It was six months yesterday. I had my surgery on June 13th and have lost 85 pounds. I currently weigh 206 pounds and have 46 pounds left to reach my final goal of 160.
  17. I am not so sure I really care about a tummy tuck yet. I know for a fact i want a thigh lift. Everything else we will just have to wait and see. I still have six more months before i will even know what I want, but a thigh lift is a MUST! I just want to wear a bathing suit! I don't even care if it is a one piece!
  18. Not ME: OMG! You have lost so much weight! What are you doing? How did you do it! ME: THE PIPE! LOL! Only some people will get it, but this person thought I was serious! I was laughing so hard!
  19. Even at six months out I still do not have the same full feeling I used to have. There is a fine line between comfortable and uncomfortable and it can come in one bite. Just because you can eat a certain amount today doesn't mean you will be able to eat that same amount tomorrow. I overdid it last night and the food basically feels like it is in your throat, you get the gurgles and are just waiting for it to pass through. I could have easily just forced it back up, which I have had to do once or twice. The feeling took about 10 minutes to pass. I have never gotten to the point of pain, just to the point of if I eat another bite it won't be good. My feeling to stop finally has come naturally, but I am still eating a little over what I should. I just know it is time to stop. I need to stop three more bites before that feeling, and I would never have any discomfort. So after I eat I always tend to have about 5 to 10 minutes of slight discomfort. I just go for a walk and then it goes away faster. I need to work on it.
  20. So I am down 85 Pounds and currently weight 206! I am 5'10" and have made it to six months! This month I lost 9 pounds. I hope it slows down a little, but I am still super paranoid about losing too much. I like where I am. Just want to be under 200. I haven't even started working out, which I committed to do by the new year as I know how hungry I get when I work out and just wanted to make sure I could consume more calories. I know the scale will go where it goes, but the fact that I don't know where it is going scares me. What if I look like I am sick and you can see all of my bones? That was always my biggest fear in this whole process. My hair fell out, and is still falling out, but that is ok. I am hoping that I get to Florida for some sun soon and just try to not think about being too thin. I mean how thin is too thin? I have NEVER been thin. Size 14 pants was the smallest I remember. That was designer. Right now I fit into a 14 Lane Bryant which is probably a 16 in most other stores. 16 bottom, 12 top. I am not even at a year and so close to a 10. Ok well I am still happy that I had the surgery! And if I get too skinny I will just tell people I am hungry and they will buy me lunch
  21. I will have completed 6 months in two weeks and this week I noticed another change in capacity. I can drink now a couple of big gulps without feeling tight and eating is much more comfortable. I can see now that slider foods are easier to get down without feeling hardly any restriction. I almost feel like I am eating normal with the exception of not being able to eat a big plate of food. But what do the nuts say... 1/4 at 3 months? 1/2 cup at 6 month? I remember eating a 1200 calorie diet and really was not losing that much weight...while running 5 miles a day, everyday in the blistering Miami Heat. I was around 185 at the time. The next couple of months are going to be VEWY INTERESTING. Just don't want to fall of the wagon! Wish they had something already premade that I could grab that was low cal, high protien, that wasn't loaded with salt. I don't do Protein shakes. I might have to bake my own chicken breasts now. I HATE COOKING! I just like to grab something and go!
  22. I have a couple of sips of a soda every once and awhile. Sleevie doesn't like fried food except for french fries. So anything like fried chicken...no more for me. I can eat it. It doesn't come back up, but it just leaves me with a yucky feeling. I really want soda bad. Fountain sodas are the best! That article, to me, seemed like it was talking about eating and drinking at the same time. Or drinking after a meal. So what if you have a soda on an empty stomach? How could it possibly expand anything? If I poured soda into a balloon and tied the balloon off, would the balloon expand. I think I will try this
  23. I take a Prevacid...over the counter...once every three days. Yesterday was a high calorie day for me. About 1000. At the end of the day I felt like it was hunger, but there was also a little burn to it. Not the same hunger as before surgery. Not sure if because I consumed more food that day my tummy may have needed more prevacid? Or was I just hungry? There wasn't much restriction yesterday as I polished off a lean cuisine in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later I was hungry again with that slight burn. When I get that feeling I feed it, but this time I didn't eat anything else and just went to bed. I am wondering if it was the Pasta. I don't really eat pasta like that. I guess I have to also watch what I eat. It is just weird. Thoughts?
