Buyers remorse ... not losing weight and kind of sad ...
Sunny, I am sorry you are so frustrated! Please don't give up! Your body and mind have been thru an awful lot in the last few weeks! You are still in the healing process. And since you sound like me and have tried every diet know to mankind you have probably rendered yourself diet resistant. Let your body adjust to it's new tummy and restricted calorie intake. Follow your surgeons diet plan and you will lose the weight. You are probably in the middle of your 3 week stall so the number for weight loss was not exactly as low as you thought it would be. This will take time! But slow and steady wins the race. This time we do not have to worry about being dragged back to the high side of the scale. Keep your Fluid levels up too. I know this is hard...it's hard for me too but we can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs!

When will food taste good again?
Monday will be 7 weeks and food is really hard for me to eat. The only thing that tastes good is yogart and a few soups. Everything else tastes weird. I have no appetite and have to force myself to eat. Then I can only eat a few bites cuz it does not taste good. I know I was suppose to lose the hunger sensation but I did not realize the taste would be so off! It really makes it hard to get in the calories I am suppose to. It it were not for protein shakes I would be in trouble. But I would like to at least enjoy what little I get to eat! How long does this last?

Sept 17th check in
Good Morning All Stars! It is finally raining here in Kansas! We needed it bad! As of this morning I came in at 178.2 for a 2.2lb loss this week. Been trying to up my calorie intake and fluid intake this week but sleevzilla does not always agree. Doing much better in the nausea and bathroom trips this week. The prilosec really helps in that department. Alot of foods still taste really weird to me so I have been getting my protein from liquids when I cannot tolerate regular food. Still trying to get my Celebrate Vitamins down. I loved the way they tasted before surgery but not so good after surgery. Weird huh? This morning I am drinking a protein coffee for breakfast. This is only my second time drinking coffee and I miss it. Have a great week!

Lap band gone wrong, now trying gastric sleeve Oct 3rd
Good luck on your new journey. I started out my wls journey thinking of the band but the more I saw how much trouble people were having I opted for the sleeve. I hope at some point they "ban the band" cuz it sure seems to have caused alot problems for alot of people.

Tick tock goes the clock..my surgery is tomorrow!!
Good luck to all those having surgery soon! It has been 6 weeks (tomorrow) for me and the journey is worth it! The first few days/weeks are tough but it does get better. Concentrate on getting fluids in. Don't worry about protein for a week or so, just stay hydrated. SF popsicles were and still are my best friend! Try your liquids at different temps if swallowing is difficut in the beginning. Keep us posted!

I just cracked the 70's!!!!
Came in at 179.8 this morning! Whoo Hoo! It took me 5 months to lose the same amount of weight with Jenny Craig. The sleeve...only 6 WEEKS! I love my sleeve! Plus I know there is no going back this time thanks to my sleeve. What a relief that is!!!! I won't change my ticker till next Saturday but I just had to see this morning if I need it or not!

Exercise mishap
Jill, I hate it when your just walking along and then BAM! you end up on the ground! I am so glad you are okay and did not seriously injure yourself. Thank goodness you still have pain meds huh? Julie, I almost fell off my horse on Monday. He has recently recovered from an eye injury on his left side and he did not see our cows under the trees until we were almost beside them so he spooked and tried to duck out from underneath me. I stayed on but my poor husband about had heart failure thinking NO..NO..not her stomach! I ride English and he rides Western so he always thinks I am going to fall off since I do not have a saddle horn. Ha! showed him...lol

September 10th check in/weigh in
Good morning All Stars! This morning I came in 180.4. Only shy of two pounds since the end of August. But that is okay. I have always been a slow loser and I figured even WLS would not change that and so far that has been true. I am starting to have less nausea thank goodness! And less trips to the bathroom. Been walking 3-5 times per week. Trying to get my strength back.It has taken longer than I expected. It is very comforting to not have that "hungry feeling" all the time. I no longer feel the need to chew my arm off all the time! Been doing a better job of tracking my food on myfitnesspal.com...same name if you want to friend me. Look forward to hearing from everyone. Have a great weekend!

MY GOODNESS!! TMI for some

Feeling full on the sleeve. What it like?
The first few months, I described the full feeling as "needing to loosen my bra"! I kept saying that everyone else might need to loosen their belt but I was the odd ball that felt like my bra was tight. Now (5 months out) it's more of a traditional full feeling. I try to stop at "content" and not get to "stuffed". However that "stuffed" feeling feels like I am full up to my throat. Not a pleasant feeling and I try to avoid it. Lanette, OMG! This is me! I am at 4 weeks and wearing sport bra for more than my excercise time is very bad juju! It presses too much against my sleevezilla! Also, if after I eat (under or over) I want to loosen my bra. Infact, today driving home (2 1/2 hr drive) I unhooked my bra just so I could be comfortable. Nice to know someone else has this experience too..lol

Attention Dr. Almanza patients
Very wise. When I was first looking into the sleeve and thought I would have to go to Mexico I was going to choose Dr. Aceves. But I found a selfpay doc in KC. After adding up the cost of surgery, airfare for two, plus time off there was a couple thousand dollar difference. So I choose to go in KC in be out only 1 night. Plus I am a high risk patient due to a rare liver disease and my husband was not happy about Mexico.

How do the All Stars want to proceed from here?
That's a good idea Libbee..We should keep it under the August 2011 sleevers and post Saturday (number date) weighin/checkin. If people want to share their weight they can or if they just want to post an update they can.
