  1. Hang in there Honey!!! Gotta remember that most surgeons have a bedside manner of a baboon! But as long as they are great in the OR who cares? You are doing AWESOME and he will be able to move the liver just fine with the surgical instruments if he even has half a brain. Saving you a seat on the losers bench for ya! Oh and by the way..I have a rare liver disease called Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. If they can perform a VSG on me they should have no problem with you my dear.
  2. Hey All Stars! Good Morning!!!!! Let's give a team shout out to trizzy35, happyevraftr, BigManIndia who are all having surgery today! We have 3 batters up so for those of us who have already run the bases let's cheer on our team as each one gets their turn "at bat". For those of you in the lineup we are cheering you on as well as you go the the liquid preop stage..Not easy at times! So....Go Team Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (If you see an advertistment next to this post it is not from me! )
  3. Yep, the green one from Isopure is the best. Have tried Syntrax yet? they have quite a few to choose from and you can order a sample pak
  4. I was surfing yesterday thru all the wls forums and found a post from a Doctor. He recommends all his patients to drink mint tea to get rid of gas. So I sent hubby to the store and drank some and YEP it does work! So happy burping everyone!
  5. Wishing everyone here the best of luck with surgery and recovery. Please let us know when you feel up to it how things are going. I can say that today (day 3 postop) is alot easier to swallow liquids than yesterday. Still uncomfortable but better. Also got my 30min of walking in yesterday and 15 today. working on my Isopure now.
  6. Congrats and thanks for sharing your story. It really inspires the rest of us. Oh and by the way you look very handsome in a suit
  7. Sorry for the pain you are having. It is not fun at all. I am day 3 from surgery. I could not tolerate the liquid lortab. Made me want to puke but I did not. But I was not going to take the chance that it would. I switched to chewable tylenol cuz liquids hurt going down. So I am trying to get all my liquids in either in liquid form (ouch) or popsicles & fudgesicles. Now I did come across some advise from a physician about the gas pain and I tried and for me it worked very well. Use mint or peppermint tea and yes you can start burping...yeah! Plus use your heating pad...that has been a lifesaver too. Also, if your incisions start to itch then yes that is a sign they are healing...however keep an close eye on them to make sure the itching is healing and not an infection. you know foul odor, etc. Good luck!
  8. Sending prayers for you SkyBlew! Let us know how things are for you when you feel up to it!
  9. been eating lost of popsicles, some jello, had a greek yogart...very yummy and felt so much better after wards. Still having trouble with sipping...it hurts when you do not do it right. still have gas pain but it is manageable. cannot take liquid lortab...makes me want to puke.
  10. Way to go Julie! You are soooo ready for this. Wishing you a smooth surgery and recovery. I am sliding down the losers bench as each of my team members come in for the home run! Keep us posted!
  11. I hope you get your date soon. I would remind them that you need to make plans to from work, etc. I was discharged yesterday from Speciaity & Spine. Dr. Kowalski was my surgeon. Things are okay but the liquid lortab is a no go. Makes me want to puke. So I used chewable tylenol and 1/2 vicodin tablet and that is much better. Trying to get my liquids in but it is still uncomfortable to drink. Using Isopure to crank up the Protein.
  12. 1-2 days postop- sf liquids, jello 0, broth, sf popsicles. 3-6 days postop- same as about but add milk, yogart, hot cereal,sf applesauce, pureed fruits 7-49 days postop- deli meat, fish, tofu, hot cereal, string cheese, cooked vegetable 8 weeks & beyond..more solids foods...protein first
  13. Hey Sleeve Sista! Glad you are doing well. I am home too! Everything went well for me except for my heartrate and blood pressure. HR to low..BP...to high. But they gave me stuff to even it out. Hardly any pain while in hospital. Left at 3pm and got home at 6pm. Took pain meds and went to bed for 2 hours. Now I am back up for a bit. Just need to get in abit of a walk.
  14. It should..I just got home today from being sleeved yesterday and I have only gotten mildly hungry. Good luck and keep us posted
  15. thanks everyone! could not have done it without y'all We got home 2 1/2 hours ago. Took liquid lortab after getting home and then slept a couple of hours. Now I am resting and eating sf popsicles. In a few minutes I will get up and walk for a little bit...cough, and do the breathing thingy. A bit more pain now that i am home and no pain pump. But it really is just soreness not bad pain.. about a 3 from a scale of 1-10. Left shoulder has been off and on pain wise. Tummy sore of course but really it is not bad at all. Shoulder surgery was far more painful
  16. good luck august 2nd sleevers...update on the tagline for updates...doing great..drinking broth so I can pee and go home...lol
  17. Dahlia & Ruby, Glad to hear you guys are doing so well! I am laying in my hospital bed right now and everything is going great. Just a bit of discomfort in the left shoulder area as is to be expected.
  18. everything is still going peachy. very little pain due to good control from meds. Still having a bit of trouble with low heartrate and goofy blood pressure but other than that it has been very smooth. Waiting for my turn for the swallow test. They have a few vascular patients that must go first. That's fine...I am enjoying my stay. Nice room..small but efficient. nice furniture and wall colors. Staff is amazing...so is doctor. Gone for several walks. Will have drain removed upon discharge!! All in all it has been a great experience! How is everyone else doing this morning?
