  1. Wow! Like others have said, you look amazing! Congratulations!!!!
  2. I have Empire BCBS. When I had the EGD Memorial Hermann called and said that I had to pay a co-pay of $122.00. Well, for some reason a month ago, I received a refund in the mail. Believe it or not, my only co-pay at the time of surgery for my doctor. I expect to get a bill from the anesthesiologist, I haven't heard from the hopsital yet. I wish you all the best.
  3. Wow! DeeDee thanks for sharing. I had a myomectomy in 2003....when they went in they found that my tubes were closed and unbeknowst to me they took them out along with 13 tumors. I was devastated--my doctor told me that IVF would be our only option. Hubby was against it at the time. I was supposed to have a second surgery but I had a horrible accident two weeks prior in 2008 and derailed everything. I would love to have a baby but right now I would not have enough support financially or emotionally at home to do IVF or adoption. I am currently 41 and provide a great majority of the household finances. My hubby is adopted. BUT I do know other people that are adopted or have adopted a child e that have led normal lives. My hubby is just the exception.

I just wanted to post, how happy I am to have movement. LOL I can only attribute it to the Miralax.
  5. Everything is okay from what I read here on the boards. I was concerned too--quite a few people said take Miralax everyday. I have been taking since Monday (I got the prepackaged type) and I just went a few moments ago. Also, I have been gaining weight everyday too. Despite me working out and getting more Water in. Best to you.

I am so loving my sleeve now. I have been to some of favorites: Pappadeaux – I get the fish with spaghetti squash ; last night we went to Pappasitos – (Wednesdays is half price fajitas) – hubby and I shared a Tijuana – it is beef and chicken fajitas with shrimp. Well, I had a piece of beef, chicken and shrimp and I was done! I don't have the "my pouch is heavy feeling" I do feel it in my breastplate no pain but just that I have had it up to here feeling. J I love these patches for motion sickness. I don't know where I would be without them. :-) I have not had a bowel movement. I have been taking Miralax once a day since this Monday and nothing. A little gas but no movement. I got free screening passes to see MoneyBall tonight. Hubby didn't want to go so me and Tiff are going.

I had my first appointment with my PCP today. She was atonnished. We went over my blood pressure meds and I got her to give me a refill on some additional motion sickness patches. I will go back in a month and we will see if I need come off totally. So far, I take one 50mg toprol and one 20mg lisinipril daily plus prilosec. I have to check my bp in the afternoon/evenings to see if I need the additional dose of toprol. But lately I haven't had the need to. I go back to work today. I am confident I will not have a replay of last week when I left early. Hopefully, my co-worker won't be a perfume bomb today. Did I mention I haven't went yet and I have started on mushies.....I am up 2 lbs. I am taking miralax but nothing yet. I plan to get up in the next couple of hours and workout but we will see how that goes. My right leg feels like mush from Monday's workouts.

I feel so much better today. Thank GOD!!! The doctor fixed a histal hernia and my diaphram while he was in there. Needless to say, I am very tight and felt naseauated with everything. The NP called me in Ondansetron ODT tablets that melt on your tongue. After my first dose, a few dry heaves and then I threw up. I tried it again yesterday morning and the same thing. She finaly called me in promethegan suppositories--you are supposed to insert rectally every 4-6 hours but I find that I need to insert at the 3:50 mark. :-) Today, I was able to get 8 oz of the Celebrate ENS Strawberry Multivitamin, Calcium, Protein shake down. I will try the unjury chicken soup later. She only gave me 15 so tomorrow I definately will be bothering her for more. I hate barfing. I never did it when I drank liquor so I don't want to do it now. :-) I haven't gotten on the scale today but the day before surgery I was 242 (clothes on). Day of surgery I was 235. Day after surgery I was 241. Yesterday I was 232.8. I go back to work on Tuesday and work through Thursday--then I am off work Friday-Tuesday. I have my first follow up on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Did I mention my cycle came on......UGH!
  9. Hi everyone, I am back at home! My hemoglobin dropped for some reason and they had to do a redraw to make sure it had gotten up. Said I was the best patient ever, the 1st to walk around within 3 hours of surgery and not complain for pain. I just had a pop cicle and looking forward to clerk liquids. Feels like I have gas in my back.. I will take a few more of the Gas-X strips.
  10. Hi everyone, I went in today. My doctor had to repair an hernia which i didnt know i had. Hardly any pain. My doctor said I don't look like I had surgery. So did the physical therapist. He said I was the first person he had ever ran in to like that. :-) Overall great surgery.
  11. I am having a horrible time with pre-op diet.....OMG liquids is just not working for me.......UGH!!!!! My surgery is tomorrow and I just have to make it through the day! I went to "pre-op" today. I have so much on my plate and being pulled in so many different directions. Hubby, is not helping at all. He called today and wanted to know what the co-pay is. I understand his concern BUT right now I am at work. I have several different things I need to work on here, not to mention for the church (one of our members passed on Friday). Besides contacting people, preparing documents, etc. Co-pay right now is NOT a major issue with me. I can worry about that tomorrow or 2 weeks from now. I have already paid my doctor and I am quite sure the hosptial is bitting at the bit--especially since I have insurance. :-) Hubby, has issues with money (1) because I make much more than him and (2) he likes to be able to think he has one up on me. :-( It's not like he is worried about the bills because I pay them but its just another issue so I won't do what I think is best or if it is something I want to do--its out of the question because of money. Bear in mind, we have no children, we have 1 car, we live in a 700 sq ft apartment, and the list goes on. He refuses to get another job because of his weight (he is 500+), insecurity and fertility issues, etc. I can't force him to do anything but enough is enough. Not to mention a friend (who is also a personal trainer) called and said that he doesn't agree with me having the surgery, I told him yesterday, and went on "in love" for a few minutes. I understood his side and I explained to him that due to my medical issues, etc.....I felt this was the best thing for me. Its difficult when you only have 1 car and have the burden of finances to incorporate a personal trainer, shakes and foods into an already stretched budget. I am not upset with him voicing his concerns or anything but today was not the day. As I am writing this, I realize that I have to get a whole of my mind. Especially where food is concerned. Its not that I want to it eat, its like man I am dealing with his drama and all I am having is some Isopure. YUM. Lol I am grateful for this board it allowed me to post my worthless rant. Okay, I will be on the losers bench tomorrow.

  13. Thanks everyone. I spoke to my surgeon at preop and he said he would monitor it while I am in the hospital and afterwards, I would have to crush the meds up after I am released. I have an appointment with my PCP the following week.
  14. OMG! You look beautiful. Those pictures are wonderful. I love San Francisco!!!
  15. That is so good for your wife! I am scheduled for the 23rd also.
  16. I am curvy. I have been all my life. I had boobs at 9-10 and by the time I was 11, my mom and I both wore 36C's. Go figure!!! When I got down last year after working my butt off to 214. Lots of people swore I was 180, etc. I do carry my weight all over. Which is good. Even at 275 in 2003 I still wore most of my 20's and some 22's. I am looking forward to wearing large and anything lower besides a size 18/20.
  17. Thank you for keeping us updated! It really helps those of us who are getting sleeved SOON!!!!
  18. You look absolutely wonderful! Congratulations!
  19. A friend of mine got the band in late May of this year and has been filled 2 times--no weight loss. She can still eat almost as much food as before. She can feel the tightness of the band but still no weight loss. :-(
  20. Thanks everyone. I didn't get put on hbp meds until 3 months after I got married. I guess the change from being single for 30+ years to having an only-child husband plus his loving-doting mom was a little more than I could handle. We will see once I have surgery.
  21. Wow! I love the responses. I had several goals as well. 1st goal is to get to 210 or 200 by my dad’s anniversary on September 11th. I want to turn a few of his "church members" heads. J 2nd goal: Onederland. 3rd goal: My doctor’s goal of 170. 4th goal: 150’s. Final goal is to be in a healthy weight which is between 125-145. So we will see. During high school I ranged from a size 0-3 (freshman year/band—they tried to kill us) to size 9 when I graduated. I don’t ever remember weighing myself back then. I do remember being a size 14 when I was 190.—I was 22 then
  22. Thanks Kelly. I will schedule an appointment with my PCP for the week after surgery. Hopefully, I can be taken off too. :-0
  23. I have a question for anyone that has been sleeved that was previously on high blood pressure meds. How soon did you stop taking the meds after your surgery? Same day? A week? A month? Did your PCP take you off? or Did you take yourself off the medicines? Just checking. I currently take these each day: 1 Toprol, 2 Lisinipril and 1 Triamertene/HCTZ.
  24. I have Empire BCBS and had to see nutritionist. My doctor's office has one on staff. Even if I didn't, they probably would want me to see her just to get the "instructions" on how and what to eat.
