Magic Bullet is a mixer of sorts that makes shakes in a jiffy. From what I read on this board, some people also use it to puree foods. The Candle Warmer sits on your desk or table, etc. and you can put your cup of soup or coffee, etc. on it and it keeps it warm while you sip, sip, sip.

I am so excited. I got my date—August 23rd. Preop on the 17th. I am so excited. I am going to order more unjury shakes this weekend. Go to Wally World and get a Magic Bullet and a Candle Warmer. Yippee!!! Another plus was I received a check in the mail from the hospital that did my EGD--refunding me the 117.00 I paid them. I wonder how much the co-pay will be for the surgery.....thank God for overtime these last few weeks. Can I just say I AM GRATEFUL!!!! God is faithful!

I finally got a call back from the doctor’s nurse. I have to wait to be scheduled by the nutritionist. She won’t be back until August 1. Go figure…….ugh!

Got a letter from insurance company stating I was approved for 1 night in hospital. They list the surgery date as August 8, 2011. I still have not heard from doctor’s office yet. I have to remember "patience" is a virtue.

Okay, okay, okay!!! Somebody help me! I received a call yesterday from my insurance company, I had no clue what it was about--they never call. I made a mental note to call today. Well, I just checked my voice mail and my surgeon’s office called too, I HAVE BEEN APPROVED!!!! I had no idea they submitted my paperwork already. All of this before I completed the new EGD. Thank ya!!!!! I have 6 lbs to lose before I am at my pre-op goal of 230. I am so excited!!!! BUT, I just called both of them back and neither were available. Ugh! I so hope I can get it scheduled the 2nd week of August.

I take Celebrate vitamins:- multi-complete chewable in berry (2 a day) and Calcium Plus 500 chewable in Cherry Tart (3 a day). Me! :-) Before my EGD, I so wanted to have surgery on July 19. But since then, I have to wait to take another the first week of August and then wait for approval. So, NO, you are not alone.

I mentioned it to 2 of my co-workers in my department a few months back and they were totally against it. One told me how her friend suffers from lap-band, etc. I have only told my OB/GYN, PCP, two workout buddies, pastor, best friend and my husband. I worked really hard last year on a strict eating and workout regimen and lost 60 lbs. I have managed to keep 30lbs off. L Never got below 200 though sadly enough. People thought I was smaller which was a plus. So, as far as anyone else is concerned, they will think I am back at it.

I really think she is insecure, scared, and like someone else said doesn't want to lose her "binging" buddy. Me and my workout buddies are doing this together. We have been dillgent the last year and half and lose/gain cycle. Two of us are doing the sleeve and we will probably be doing it within a month of each other. What's funny is we have planned to share appetizers together. LOL. My other frriend since 94, is a size 12. I have always been larger than her, etc. She knows my struggles and was absolutely okay with me having the surgery and offered for me to stay with her to recooperate. I actually spoke with my pastor about it a few weeks ago and was encouraged to "go for it". I do believe not every diet works for everyone. Some people can workout lose the weight and keep it off. That's not my testimony. Neither was being on Adkins, Weight Watchers, hCg, Nutrisystem, etc. You have to what is best for you.

I understand totally, I have "smelled" to myself before too. My hubby was looking at me like I had lost it but it was real to me. Plus, I too could smell it in my clothes. UGH!!!! I went to the dermatologist and she prescribed drysol. Worked wonders!

My hubby said he will support me but said he didn't think I have given enough time to any diet or exercise to work. (Mind you for the last 8 years he has seen me lose a few and gain more over and over.) That surgery is so drastic, etc. I think the main reason he is against it is because he is insecure and he weighs over 515+lbs. I initially told him we can do this together but he doesn't want any part of it. Others have talked to him and even his doctor. This guy my hubby knows has had the surgery and is down to about 225. He was amazed how good he looks. But, it caused the guy to deal with a lot of "personal issues", that I think my hubby doesn't want to face. I have a good support system from my friends and this board. I encourage you to get your hubby educated even if it is with a brochure here and there or an email. My hubby doesn't like to read but maybe a youtube video from someone would help too. I decided I didn't want to live life anymore on the sidelines. I am tired of taking 4 blood pressure medicines everyday and plus, I am pre-diabetes. So, me having the surgery and being off of those meds, would save us at least 1000 a year. The bottom line you have to be comfortable with your decision and the reasons for the surgery. If you stand strong, not waiver and please don't nag, I am sure he will come around at some point. :-)

I went for the EGD on yesterday and I have an ulcer and I have been placed on prev pac antibiotics. I have to go back in 6 weeks for a retest to see if everything is cleared up. My hopes for having a July surgery date was dashed to pieces. L I called today and made my follow-up appointments for weight management for August and September.
