  14. i need a nj buddy too where in nj are you?
  15. i am also one of the bigger banders... i had my surgery 2 months ago and my starting weight was 400 when i had to go on the pre op diet 2 weeks prior i lost like 20 lbs... that could happen for you too ... just keep trying and stick to it your hard work will pay off... it is not easy to lose weight but just keep doing what you're doing.. a lot of times if you gain weight the insurance won't cover the surgery and your sergeon won't do it either hang in there
  16. i was told that the insurance will cover breast reductions and tummy tucks if there is a rash problem. other then that any other plastic surgery is not covered. you would have to contact a regular plastic surgeon they do it all. i don't know about cost other than that though
  17. Dont be afraid to ask tons of questions pre op diets are different for everyone but what you need to know is lap band is a wonderful tool but does.take a lot.of work and determination but it is.totally worth it
  18. Welcome! Lap band is a wonderful.tool let.me know if you have any questions or wanna talk
  19. I am starting to wish I kept it a secret too everyone treats me differently now and I feel like im being watched by the food police all the time
  20. I had to bring mine but never used it I was told if I didnt bring it, they wouldnt do the surgery so def bring it even if they dont use it
  21. Adding milk to protien mix helps fill you up more too get skim milk or skim plus makes it taste better too
  22. Gosh I cant wait to be in those sizes I am a bit bigger then all of u and I cant seem to go down in sizes my clothes r baggier but still cant fit into.a smaller size yet and ive lost almost 50 lbs it is so frustrating!
  23. Congrats on taking a step in the right direction I hope all your questions get answered I love my band so if you wanna chat let me know
  24. do you have any of the health issues ? diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, etc? OR do you have issues moving around ? I don't have a lot of the health issues but i do have sleep apnea and had a hard time walking around. now after surgery and loosing almost 50 lbs I can now walk all over and not get tired or sore from just walking around. it's just one perk to it. also you will have that tool the rest of you life and it will help to lose weight and keep it off as long as you eat what you are supposed to. for me it was totally worth it... tried everything before it and this is the one thing that has helped the most. so if you can afford to pay out of pocket i would do it... it will make your quality of life so much better
