  1. i love reading your posts..they are so inspirational.. be blessed my sista! jennifer
  2. i agree that some questions could be answered here on the site, but like other's said somethings should be addressed with your surgeon. i dont want to discourage people from asking questions, but it amazes me how many people willingly get the surgery and have NO CLUE as to what to expect or what to do. AMAZING!
  3. yep i have hashimoto's thyroidism...( low TSH levels), i need to go get my levels check as i'm sure it's been over 6 months. i feel it makes me loose slower(at least that's what i tell myself.) LOL
  4. this is a great place for support, congrats on deciding to have surgery, i like others wish i would have done it in my 20's, but oh well. i have no regrets now. i'm not gonna sugar coat it and say it's easy cuz it's not, but like someone else said it's sooooooooooooooo mental. if you're head is in the right place, you will be successful...feel free to PM me anytime jennifer
  5. Self pay and it's $250 each fill..with a free adjustment within 2 weeks if it's not right
  6. My surgery was out patient and I was self pay as well...when I had my sugery my surgeon had done at least 500 lap bands and has only had 1 patient that had to go to the hospital...I understand your concern though
  7. Don't beat yourself up to much..we all do it at one time or another.
  8. everytime I get a fill iend up going back for an unfill within 2 weeks...this is one of the things that I dislike about the band..that. fills are not an exact science..but oh well something we bandsters have to deal with I guess..best wishes to u.

welcome to LBT..this is a great place for information..feel free to ask away..or PM if there is something specific you wanna know. jennifer
  10. Ok I HATE THE SCALE! Did I say I hate the scale..it is evil and from the pit of hell! All those with me who want to throw out your scales in cyber space..shout out below! LMAO!
  11. Thanks everyone..u guys just proved my point of how pointless it is to discuss how much is in your band compared to others...different amounts is so different for everyone...I just wanted to let the newbies know to not get obsessed with that number...Lola
  12. Wow...that is a mess...can u find another doctor..or find ways to save up for a fill..like I mentioned I am self pay and my fills are $250..so I feel u on the money issue..but I didn't go thru all this to let my surgery go to waste...check with ur insurance company and see what doctors accept ur insurance.
  13. I wish I would not have told as many people...but I agrre that once ppl heaar u had surgery they dismiss your efforts like it was easy..all bandsters know this is not easy!

i totally agree with you, but know you are gonna get some slack for this post, but who cares! LOL! The lap band requires sooooo much after care and follow up i dont understand why anyone would get this procedure done and not have access to your doctor. that just boggles my mind...but to each his own!
  15. my doctor does all my fills under fluro. i'm sure they are way more expensive, but i like the fact that he can see exactly what's goin on inside with my band everytime i go for an adjustment. best wishes on your journey!
  16. my port is right where my underwire bra hit and the more i loose the more it is annoying!
  17. That is awesome...i'm like u..the scale has only gone down 45 pounds in the 14 months i've been banded. But from a size 20 to a 12! Keep up the good work
  18. Ok I know i'm gonna get some slack for this but it's just a pet peeve of my own...people are always asking how much is in their band and it's totally irrelevant to anyone but that person...2cc's in my band doesn't mean 2cc's in someone else band means the same thing or yields the same results...I think people get so obsessed with how many cc's they have compared to other people they loose site of the real picture...ok now back to our regularly scheduled program...lol!(bring on the slack...lol) hope I didn't offend anyone.

  20. Almost everyone has that "what the hell did I do moment"..hang in there I promise it gets better!!
  21. Same here I live in chicago and this heat and my band are not getting along..but i'm taking full advantage!
  22. I totally get your fear...it took me over a year to get to onederland and I only got there by accident cuz I was too tight..dropped 18 pounds in 2 weeks..I knew I would gain some back when I got an unfill and so far i've only got back 4 pounds in almost a week and a half but I know 2 of those are die to TOM..but u will feel so much better and be losing the healthy way..
  23. I get the annoying gurgling when i'm too tight...

  25. Did your doctor give you a post op diet...most are not allowed regualr food till 2 to 3 weeks post op...the first few weeks are about healing and allowing your band to settle and form scar tissue so it's secure...eating regualr food this early could cause damage this soon..check with your doc about what food you should have..should be mushies or pureed only a week post op.
