Hello all- I have my first consult next week. I will

be self paying.I am worried that during surgery something will come up and I will end up having to pay for hospital stay. Anyone know any stats or complications that cause longer hospitalization? Or how often that occurs- I plan to discuss with my Dr., but thought someone around here may have some insight.

My doctor told me the possibiity was there but that it rarely happened in their practice. They were careful about who they chose to do outpatient,

My surgery was out patient and I was self pay as well...when I had my sugery my surgeon had done at least 500 lap bands and has only had 1 patient that had to go to the hospital...I understand your concern though

This is what I hope to hear. I am going to a center of excellence, so hope they have the same answer 1/500 !
