  1. No you dont HAVE to tell anyone, period. It's none of their business especially if they Re going to throw unwanted salt at you for trying to change YOUR life for the better. Losing weight is NOT an easy task and deciding to have weight loss surgery is neither. Many people say "oh, your taking the easy way out" but I don't see them complaining when they get sick and run to pharmacy to get cold medicine to "help them" - well it's the same exact thing! Weight loss surgery only "helps" us lose weight, it doesn't do the job for us, we need to actively assist the weight loss process by working out, changing eating habits and making the correct choices at all times and THAT alone is a full time job. I personally chose not to tell a soulbut my sister, because she already had weight loss surgery, she chose the band. I'm choosing the sleeve. Plus after seeing how much **** my family throws at her for losing the weight and gaining it back, I said f**k it (excuse my language). I'm doing this for me and only me. I guess eventually in the future I might decide to tell people, but for now my choice is written in stone. I hope this helps
  2. No protein before bed... Doing so is an intake of unnecessary calories plus your suppose to wait 2-3 to sleep after u consume anything that is not water... Try your best to stay away from meals before bed, period... It will definitely increase your weightless and benefit for sleeve from unneeded stress. Sleep on an empty stomach so when when u wake up in the morning you can break fast
  3. U will def lose at least a cup or two... Most of my female friends did but they loved their new figure
  4. U get dumping syndrome with all wls... Some more severe than others... When that occurs it usually because of increased sugar intake. My suggestion go back on Clear liquids and sample other times of Protein flavors... Mix with Water not milk also... Hope that helps!!!
  5. That's basically interval training which is VERY beneficial because your bodys movement is never at a constant pace so it makes it harder for your body to adapt to the exercise. Thus in the end your constantly losing weight... Gd job doc!
  6. Yeah the 27th of April... No time yet tho Btw you will be in great hands at pres, they treated me very well when I was patient there in 07, too bad it's a teaching hospital and you might run into a few students
  7. Oooh your a borough away. I'm having surgery at New York Methodist hospital in Brooklyn
  8. Where in NY are u? I'm in Brooklyn
  9. There's nothing to worry about the ENDO is painless, I repeat painless, only if they put you to sleep. You will get groggy from the sleep meds but that's about it. An hr or 2 of rest will shake it off. I has mine last year and I was up and ready to go literally an hr later... I was still high off the meds but I was functioning well
  10. I DEFINITELY believe theres some truth to this article, because for the last year and a half I've been also landing a lot of interviews but not the job. That's one reason why I NEED this surgery. It would definitely assist the process and also make a healthier me
  11. Yeah cause the main focus is eating the right foods in smaller portions
  12. It's a 90 day workout and meal plan if followed correctly increases your strength, stamina and redesigns your overall physique.
  13. A three piece suit! Cause there's is not anything that would make the newer me feel so empowered in a classy kind of way lol
  14. I guess this self explanatory lol... I truly understand that many individuals post-op are no longer able to stomach the foods or drinks they most loved Pre-op. so tell me what have you substituted your old favorite for? What's your new favorite?
  15. liquid diet consist of anything liquid substances that are clear or see through. Like apple sauce, chicken broth and etc... The main goal of the liquid Pre-op diet is to shrink the liver as much as possible in order to be able to maneuver it around easily so it does not get in the way during surgery... this increases the overall success rate and decreases the overall duration of surgery... Some Dr. recommend 3-7 days of Pre-opt diet Hope this helps
  16. Sliders are empty liquid calories instead of full solid calories... For example: ice cream is considered to be empty liquid calories
  17. @puss funny thing is they didn't give me a time yet lol... I get that my NEXT visit which is 2 weeks prior to my actual date... But I'm guessing it will be in the morning
  18. I'm curious to know since a lot of people choose not to tell others about their surgery due to their negative responses, on the day of the surgery did you go their alone? We're u accompany? And if you were accompanied did you decide to tell that person or persons the day before???
  19. There are a lot of crazy and funny experiences at first wake after surgery lol. I'm just glad everyone made it back safe and sound with very little discomfort. Can't wait for my surgery! April 26th here I come!
  20. My advice, if you want to maximize your wls, take in ALL your protein before consume any other foods.
  21. Start all over again... Start up a liquid diet and work your way up to a soft foods, then eventually solids again. That's your best bet. Start very small and try to find out which foods agree with you... I kno you're feeling regret but it happens, it's part of the lifestyle changing process. Like your nut said, the healing varies from individual to individual. Keep the faith!
  22. people are always harder on themselves... Like the saying goes "you're your worst critic"
