  1. Cool, I intend on reading your blog! I have a journal I've been doing since I was 13, so I have about 15 of those lol. I started a separate one once I got the sleeve done so now I try to write on here and my journals. I feel like I'm doing alot but I love writing. I'm looking forward to reading your blog!!!
  2. Happy Thoughts, Happy Thoughts, Happy Thoughts! Praying for your success and a wonderful surgery!!! Let us know how things turn out!!!!
  3. Hey guys! I'm back. 4 weeks post op, I'm currently in a stall, but overall I feel great. Today I tried on an XL swimming suit and it could fit (bottom fit great, but I'm very top heavy lol) - I am happy to say that being able to see an XL is great, I'm usually having to try on 2 or 3X. I have tried not weighing myself that much this week due to my stall cause it only makes me upset. I'm increasing my fluids and taking in more Protein shakes and Water to see if that will help. It feels like it's been longer than a month, I'm 2 weeks away from being off the soft food diet. I do feel like I would be ok staying on the soft food diet due to my stomach being much smaller but I guess with more options of food I'm sorta looking forward to the 6 wk mark. Well, I hope all are well! P.S. My new swimsuit is too cute.
  4. @Youngandwildresa93- I am now going to try the vitamin waters! That never crossed my mind lol! My mom bought me some of the "naked" brand juices with veggies and fruits in them and I've been diluting them with water! It's so good. I actually like the one that looks like mushed up peas lol. It has wheat grass and all kinds of stuff in it, but its so good lol.
  5. Thank you all. I'm feeling alot better. They told me that this is normal for some so I guess I'll be ok. I can't until this stall is over!
  6. I couldnt keep protein shakes down at all. I went and got some of the special k protein water mix and that was very helpful. and also the isopure protein water at the vitamin shoppe or gnc.
  7. thank you all for the support. I'm still upset, but I'm calming down. I hate being emotional. Thanks once again.
  8. No, I'm not on any medicines except for birth control. I'm hoping this is just a minor bump in the road.
  9. Monday I called my doctor's office because instead of having constipation or something like that, I am having problems doing #1. I hydrate all day long with water may I add, and the response I got from my surgeon's office was to call my primary physician... No offense, but are you f****** kidding me??? Really? I was completely brushed off. SO, I do just that- I go to my primary physician, they run a urinary analysis and there's no urinary tract infection, nothing unusual except the fact that my urine is so concentrated with bilirubin and keytones (sorry if spelled wrong). I was then informed by my PP to call my surgeon's office and fax them the results. I don't even know what the heck all that means! I'm very frustrated, I'm only peeing like twice a freakin day and nobody sees a problem with that when I'm drinking anywhere between 60oz to 84oz of water a day??? My skin is so dry and on top of that, I've gained 3lbs! I feel like no one gives a damn especially my surgeon and I'm slightly regretting the decision to have this surgery. I didn't have any health issues before surgery and now they are talking about my pee isn't filtering right??? UGH!. I have never felt so out of control in my life and I just don't know- my emotions are a wreck. I'm so worried that this was a waste especially since I'm gaining weight and I'm 4 weeks out. I'm sorry for all the aggression and anger guys but I just had to get this out. I tried expressing how I felt to my mom and she was no help, nobody really understands what I'm going through. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Oh and no matter how much water I drink, there is no dilution in the color of my urine it is so dark. I look so sickly in the face, but they are telling me I'm fine. I don't feel fine.
  10. Samantha, I've been feeling the exact same way! I can eat an entire 4 oz and on top of that my weightloss has stalled, and I found out today that I was dehydrated which is weird cause I drink water all day.
  11. Easter dinner was interesting- I ate a bite of each thing my mom cooked. She kept asking are you sure you don't want more??? I was thinking to myself, is she trying to make me sick???? lol
  12. INSPIRATIONAL! Thanks for sharing!
  13. Hello Guys, I had Surgery on April 4, 2011 and so far it's been a pretty good experience. Since I had been doing so well, I was told that I could go ahead and start eating this weekend. So far, so good. I have been terrified though, like I keep thinking maybe my tummy will burst or something. Since I've started eating I've actually lost 2lbs. I've increased my water intake tremendously and I haven't felt the sensation of feeling full (which is scary as well), I think I'm under eating but I'd rather do that than over eat so that's what I'm going to stick with and try to get in as much protein as possible. I never thought that veggies would taste so good, neither did I think mash potatoes would taste so good. I am glad that the food is back, but I still drink the Isopure protein water and the special K protein water (just so I can make sure I try and get enough protein). Tomorrow I intend to get biotin to make sure my hair stays thick and healthy. But anywho, has anyone else gone through the whole not feeling full thing? I hope that you all are doing well and that you are enjoying life! Happy Early Easter! P.S. Oh yeah, all my pants are skinny jeans, well now they don't look skinny anywhere but around my ankles..... I have no butt and my skinny jeans are falling off every chance they get. It's like the area where my butt once was, looks so saggy like, I can't describe it right- you'd just have to see for yourselves! lol
  14. Welcome! Good luck on your surgery!!! Its a wonderful change! I agree about the support belt, they gave me one at the hospital before I went home, it helped out sooo much. Especially when I was in the car!
  15. Congrats! It sounds like you are doing great for a week out!
  16. Congrats on your weight loss!!!! I bet that is a great feeling to be insulin free! Do you feel that being younger helped you heal faster? I know that when I went in for my post op check up my doctor was surprised at how fast my scars had healed (23 yrs old by the way) and I honestly don't feel young anymore. Have you tried sugar free koolaid? It comes in single packages and you put it in your water, they are 5 calories a piece. My doc recommended them, and they are really good. It helped me increase my water intake.
  17. I slept on my side the first night after surgery and I had sex at 2 weeks. My boyfriend was not having it at first (I was the frisky one lol), he was scared that it was too early but hey I was fine, my paper also said whenever you feel able.
  18. I am actually having one of those days right now! I'm so depressed, annoyed, tired, etc.. I could go on and on. My mom and boyfriend are trying to encourage me, but its only making me upset. When I get out of the house, my days brighten up, it makes me feel like 100% better. I hope that you are feeling better.
  19. I'm 16 days post op and the gas wore off, I still occasionally have issues with it, it's like every 2 days or so. I agree with Meggie on the Protein, but I've had a very hard time trying to consume Protein shakes all together. Its not see easy for me post op. I believe you need to consume at least 60 to 70 grams of protein a day. I know I was told at least 60. I hope this helps. P.S. if you are fearful of gas being a problem, get gas-x strips or pills. They are miracle workers!
  20. I'm 15 days post op. I'm SO HUNGRY! Well, not really- more like I smell food, and I want to eat it. I cooked for my boyfriend yesterday and it was the first time since before surgery, and I almost lost that battle! But anywho! I had the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup flavored protein- let me just say I hurled all over the counter- that was by far the nastiest thing I've ever tasted. Next, are the slim fast protein- too too sweet, I hate to have sweet drinks. Then I went and bought the Isopure water- this is finally something I can drink. I hate the after taste, but I can drink it. I also forgot that I could have skim milk or 1% milk- and I've been passing it up every day until this morning! Milk does the body good, and there's nothing like a cold glass of milk! The whey Protein unflavored is gross as well. I can wait to eat, I have my 2 week follow up appointment on Thursday and which is about 4 or 5 days off when I can eat and I'm hoping against all hope that Dr. Nick just lets me eat cause I am not enjoying the protein thing- before surgery, no problem, after surgery it- yuck! I have 2 questions for you guys: What are some good ways of getting adequate amounts of protein via liquids (excluding Protein shakes cause I'm going there lol)? and what were some foods that you guys ate during the soft diet phase?
  21. OMG! same here, I'm thinking about nachos right now lol. I am on full liquids til next Monday I'm really just missing food. Welcome to the forum!
