  1. I'm glad you are doing so well. Just remember not to push it - walk, sip, and REST!
  2. At 6 weeks I am at 26.8 pounds down since surgery. There are so many things that can contribute to loss (or little loss) - TOM, stress, how much you have to lose. Your doctor knows you, if he says you are on track, don't sweat it. 24 pounds is HUGE (excuse the pun) ... you are doing it!!!! Another thing - did you take pre-surgery measurements? I bet you would be surprised at how many inches you've lost in 30 days.
  3. You are doing AWESOME! Can't wait to hear how your 6-month appoitment goes.
  4. Kara - other than a sleeve, how many other WLS has he performed? The sleeve is often stage 1 of DS. So, if he has experience with that, he has more sleeve experience. Good luck - let us know how we can support you.
  5. I have only tried chicken when it's been in lots of sauce & only a few times at that. I have heard the chicken cooked in the crockpot is a bit easier since it is much more moist that way. I'm concerned about trying nuts, chicken, steak, and raw veggies at this point - so I am putting them off at least another month or so. Hopefully some "experienced" sleevers can chime in.
  6. That is totally awesome!!!
  7. Can't really add more to what Tiff said. I think stalls are just part of the deal. Our bodies go "Whoa - what have you done to me?". I did want to say WOW about your weightloss to date. AWESOME job!
  8. Welcome! Let us know if you have any questions or how we can support you.
  9. Today's the day, today's the day!!! ... looking forward to hearing your experience.
  10. I am just about 6 weeks out ... I too was a grazer. I thought about food A LOT. In some ways, I still do on the losing phase. I think about how to get in my Protein, Water, etc. It really is hard to understand, but I don't crave food at all. When I do, a bite or two does the trick. I do incorporate a few Snacks in my diet. String cheese in the afternoon is great - low calorie and add protein. I agree working with a nutritionist or pysch is important. If those aren't available, use an on-line tool like myfitnesspal.com - put everything that crosses your lips into the tool. It REALLY helps.
  11. Best of luck - keep us posted on your journey.
  12. Best wishes!
  13. Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
  14. I came home same day and it was fine for me. Let us know what you decide.
  15. Best of luck and welcome!

oh my gosh! Thanks for sharing.
  17. Best wishes for a terrific wedding. Enjoy yourselves. Everyone should be married the way they want to be married - not like everyone else wants. Can't wait to see pictures!!!!!
  18. You are definitely in the right place. Any questions, just ask.
  19. Yes, you are normal. You will see it come back gradually each week. I'm still exhausted by the time I get to sit down each night, but I get up at 5am & usually don't sit down until 8pm. Two weeks ago, I was much worse!!!! I promise it gets better.
  20. I work a full time job and am the mother of 3. By the time I work, get dinner on the table, pack lunches, etc. I am EXHAUSTED. I'm just giving myself time to heal and get back my energy levels. So, I haven't started walking yet, but I am losing. Maybe slower than some, but a good pace for me. I hope to get started in a walking routine in a few weeks.
  21. I'm 24 pounds down & feeling great about the changes to my body. Happiness? I don't know if I measure my happiness by my weight. But, I do judge it by what I can and can't do. Before surgery, I couldn't participate in a lot of physical activity - and with 3 boys and a husband, there is a lot of that in my family. So, will my quality of life improve? I believe so. Will that help me to be happier? I believe so. I'll touch back this summer & let you know how hiking with my boys goes!
  22. It looks like you live in Texas. I've seen some pretty amazing deals from there, but I don't know about surgeons. Any Texan sleevers out there that might be able to provide some local or somewhat local options?
  23. In my opinion, that really is the best approach. I said this in another thread, but I really can't figure out why taste change - they worked on our stomachs, not our tastebuds. But reality is, taste do seem to change. (Maybe I will finally like brussel sprouts? :sad0:)
