  1. Great job!!!!
  2. Jane c- Next time I am in Yakima or you are around the Everett area, you are on!
  3. MINI-Me replied to a post in a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a 32.8 BMI when I started - 203 pounds. I am now 136.4 pounds after 7.5 months. I'm still deciding between a goal weight of 125-135 pounds. My husband and I don't believe I look sickly, but definitely thinner than when I started. I don't believe I would have had this surgery for 40 pounds. What BMI do you want to be after surgery?
  4. Redmond is about 20 minutes away from where I work in Mountlake Terrace.
  5. Carrie - Are you in Redmond, WA now? If so, I live somewhat close to you. I would be glad to meet with you face to face. It may help to have someone a little further along to talk to and discuss issues. If you'd like to arrange something, please send me a PM.
  6. That is so awesome. Congratulations!!!!
  7. I wouldn't have wanted that at my hose that short out. Everyone is different with their pain levels and fatigue. But 12 little girls is a lot to take on when 100%. Would you have the option of having 1 or 2 other moms helping out at the sleepover?
  8. Probably not ... 2 weeks out is about the time I started feeling like me again. I am very happy for you.
  9. So glad to hear it. It's amazing how quickly you go from "what have I done" to "ow!" to "Wow! I feel like myself again". Looking forward to "watching" your journey.
  10. That is an awesome NSV! Thanks for sharing.
  11. Somehow I missed this the other day. Just had to say congratulations. What an awesome job you have done. Don't you feel wonderful???
  12. Welcome ... didn't haved the doctor, but had VSG. Can't say enough good things about the surgery. I was obese since birth. Really! I was 10 pounds 10 ounces at birth so I've always been a big girl. BUT NO LONGER!!! As of this morning, I am 3 pounds from goal!
  13. I was the exact opposite on lemonade ... loved it before surgery ... stocked up on it ... and can barely stand the taste. It's a bit better after 7 months, but those first few months it was so repulsive that it's something I will drink only if there are no other options.
  14. My nut instructions said no straw ... woke up in recovery and a straw was placed in my mouth. Go figure! I found the straw to be a lifesaver in getting in my liquids early out. I've had no issues with gas build-up & my restriction is great at 7+ months. But, that is my experience. Everyone should talk with their surgeon and follow that advice.
  15. I just passed the 7 month mark. I had 68 pounds to lose and at 7 months, I was down 64.2 pounds. Just 3 pounds to go to "official" goal as of this morning!!!!!
  16. Can you get some of the Isopure Protein drinks? They sell them at GNC. I didn't like them, but many people do. They qualify as Clear liquids. At this point, I wouldn't worry so much about the protein, etc. Focus on the Water and hydration. Of course, the more protein you can get in, the better.
  17. I love to knit while I watch tv at night (I even do it with company over - I just knit and enjoy the conversation. Just don't do a hard pattern with people over - you may be surprised at what it looks like!) Knitting definitely keeps the hands busy. And, you don't want to ruin your projects by dropping food on them.
  18. So glad that you were able to get into the doctor and they were able to take care of the problem. (Now, I've heard of people being desperate to get rid of a drainage tube, but maybe you took it too far! ) Great job on the weightloss!
  19. Congrats. Prayers have been said and waiting to hear from you once you are an official "LOSER"!!!
  20. That head hunger is such a buggar, isn't it??? It's is by chance time for your cycle? I have that issue every month and it is so hard to ignore. Just keep those good foods close by & do your best to stay on plan. If you fall off, just remember that you have control of the next bite. It's no longer all-or-nothing like it was pre-surgery. You can do this!
  21. Awesome post Anna ... this is the reality of our life. I too insist on enjoying what I eat. If I don't like it, I don't eat it. Life is too short to fill up on the "crap". I eat like a gourmet now - and the portions are what you get at a 4/5 Star Restuarant (and pay mega $ for )
  22. AWESOME news ... full liquids will be wonderful and purees will seem heavenly. Great progress.
  23. I just wanted to say GOOD FOR YOU! You should be very proud of yourself. You've done your research and decided to take control and increase your chances of a healthy, long life. It's a hard personal decision. As a lightweight myself, I understand the only "60 pound" thought ... but I know that in a year, it would have been 75, then 80, then 100+. I had to take control while I was still heathy enough and little bone/joint damage not to mention heart and diabetes issues.
  24. Thanks everyone ... Update on the ribs - they are doing a lot better. Still have some pain when I turn or breathe really deep, but I'm out of the rib brace now. I've been jumping up and down from 138.8 to 141 the past two weeks. Didn't change anything, but today I was 138.4. I'll take going down 0.4 any day over a jump up. Glad to hear that this is helping the newbies and those "semi-pros" ... I know I had a lot of encouragement when I was starting out. Nice to know that I am playing it forward a little bit.
