  1. I eat plenty of protein too, so what the heck? There was one day I truely thought I was finally in the greenzone. Had my usualy breakfast and wasn't even hungry until lunch. I was so happy! Had some tomato soup for lunch and it started going down slow. That's when I knew something wasn't right. I was driving home from work and had to spit up a couple of times. I made a beeline for the dr's office and had the .4 removed that was put in the week before. I know it was my fault for pushing the limits on what I eat after a fill. I usually stick to soup for lunch only and dinner eat what I would normally eat. The past 2 fills I had 2 day of liquid followed by a 3rd day of soft foods and I haven't had anything get stuck since then.
  2. Yep, I would definitley not buy it anymore. There are alot of things I love and I know if I buy them I am doomed until the whole package is GONE! Maybe try a frozen protein shake instead. I have found one that I have been having for a morning snack. It's made by EAS and it's called AdvantEDGE carb control. They are only 110 calories and 17 grams of protein. I throw them in the freezer and then let them thaw out in the morning. I snip the top of the pouch off and eat it right from the container. They are really good. I took one when we went hiking a couple of weeks ago and my niece and my hubby thought it was tasty too! I have found these 4 packs of shakes at Target ($5), Walgreens ($9), Fresh & Easy($5) and the grocery stores($8).
  3. I am so looking for that hunger control! I am filled at 6.85 in my 10 band and my PA thinks I am at the high end of fills. I had an upper GI done this past week and have another appt set for 3 weeks from now. The dr said I can get another fill, but have to wait since my last one was 2 weeks ago. I still get hungry within 2 or 2.5 hours. This morning I had 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, 1/4 ounce chedder cheese and half an english muffin. I would think that this amount of food should hold me over 4 hours. My stomach will growl loudly by 2.5 hours later. I have had a total of 11 fills and 2 slight unfills. I am 13 months out and down 84 pounds which I am very happy with. I guess I am just tired of dealing with hunger and the stomach growls because for my whole life I had never let myself get to this point. I read your blog and it gives me hope that I will reach a good spot. I see you have more in your band than I do.I know that everyone is different and I think I may be the person who needs more too. Sometimes it just frustrates me that the PA thinks that I don't need any more fills. This next visit I am seeing the dr!
  4. I pay $75 for an office visit with no fill and $150 total if I get a fill. Lucky you don't pay anything if you just have an office visit. Going in to be accountable to their scale has it's benefits. I think I will continue monthly visits for a long time, I don't want to go back to where I started from!
  5. If she is working there, i am sure she was happy to see you taking control of your health! Now it looks like you may have one more person for support, go for it!
  6. I was talking to my sister in law yesterday who hasn't had the surgery and she was saying she is morbidly obese. I was telling her how excited we get on here when we reach obese or just overweight! Good for you, you are on your way to being "just" overweight!!
  7. If I were you, make sure you do liquids the first 2 days and mushies on day 3, then start regular food on the 4th day. I have had fluid taken out 2 times where my band was filled less than I am now. But I know it is because I started eating reg food right away, more than likely I was swollen from the fill. Good luck. I have a size 10 band too and I am filled to 6.85. I still fee like I need a little bit more, can't wait for my appt in 2 weeks.
  8. when is the last time you have been in for a fill?
  9. If it was me in this situation, I would go back after your unfill and the swelling is gone and start all over. Just get some small fills to begin with and make sure that you do liquids for a couple of days and progress to soft foods. I had an unfill last month and this time I made sure to only have liquids for the 2 days following. I was always one to test the waters to see if I felt any restriction. now I have learned my lesson.
  10. Do you use a mouth appliance to help control your apnea?
  11. So sorry, will keep you uplifted in prayer. I couldn't even imagine..................
  12. oh, that's not good. Do you sleep with a cpap machine?
  13. Well, not only did I use the last hooks, I used to use a bra extender!! No longer the case. Now I use the middle hooks. When I reach my goal I am going to buy a couple good bras that my best friend swears by and they are $120. But I trust her cuz she has some big girls too!
  14. Maybe you have apnea?
  15. Funny about the car....It is only recently that I have NOTbeen eating my breakfast on my drive to work. It usually takes me 30 minutes with all the traffic. Perfect amount of time to eat and keep my eye on the clock to time in between bites.
  16. yes, I would think at $1000 you are getting ripped off!
  17. How funny, I realized the same thing when getting myself out of the bathtub! I can feel my whole spine now when I roll myself up! NSV are great! I remember last year when I couldn't even paint my toes!
  18. Not much that I can't have anymore either. I stick to filet mignon now, instead of rib eyes or New York steaks. Other than that, the only thing that gives me a problem is snow peas, and oh how I do miss those! I made them a couple of nights ago and just ate the seeds from the inside. Even though I do destring them, they have given me a problem the few times I ate them.
  19. I drink a bottle of water on my morning walk, I have a 2 cup cup of tea before breakfast. I drink a 24 ounce crystal light before lunch, another water bottle in the afternoon and then I have a bit of water with dinner and maybe 1/2 cup water at night. Hmmmm, guess I drink all day long! I find that it helps to drink when I am feeling hungry and it's not meal time.
  20. I no longer feel full after eating. I eat a small portion and I am usually satisfied. What you have to get used to is that you probobaly wont have that full feeling like you used to. If you are anything like me, I didn't stop eating until I was past that full feeling and then it was too late, I would be stuffed! I got used to thinking that was the way to tell that I had enough. It's a hard one to get over, it was only about a month ago that I experienced that real full feeling after eating about 1/2 cup of rice with my meal and it was then that I realized that I don't miss that feeling at all anymore.
  21. I can eat bread, I can eat rice.....I don't do sushi!
  22. if you have too much restriction and nothing is going down, sounds like you may need a slight unfill. One can not live on Starbucks and fried chicken nuggets alone!
  23. Mine was very excited for me. I announced it at Christmas dinner that my mom was giving me the best present ever. Why are you worried your SO wont support you? And if he wont support you for you taking control of your health, hmmmm? You have to do this for yourself, and that is what matters most.
