  1. good for you! 100 pounds and 3 years out gives us all hope, congrats!
  2. I thought the same thing when I had a flour tortilla a few weeks back! I will stick to taco salads instead of soft tacos at home!
  3. I gurgle off and on. Just don't really pay attention now to notice how often it happens.
  4. I do ok with the carrots that you buy bagged and shredded. I don't add a ton though.
  5. My dr said to wait 3 months. I had one after 2 months and have never had a problem with them. I do now prefer the spring mix types, they seem to go down easier.
  6. At 3 months I was down 29, 50 at 6 months. Good thing I keep a running log at the back of my journal!
  7. I remember burping a lot in the beginning. Don't think I do it as often as before. Or maybe I just don't even notice it anymore!
  8. THow funny, that's what I am buying when I reach my goal! Hopefully they will be size 4!
  9. First you need to try and eliminate the sweets! Funny to hear that from me, an admitted chocoholic! I feel like a junkie when given some real good stuff! If you aren't hungry between meals then I would say you don't need a fill. When was the last time you have seen your dr? Battling the head hunger has been huge for me these last couple of months as well. Sometimes I will take a bath or go watch tv in bed to try and forget about it. Or I will have a cup of hot tea, which I am doing right now!
  10. A friend and I both were down about 80 pounds at one year. I worked out and she didn't. We both ate approximately 1000 calories a day. And she is almost 20 years older than me!
  11. I agree with eating 1200 or less a day. For the first year I was pretty religious being at 1000 and did really well. These last couple of months have just been tougher for me.
  12. no problem! I still deal with hunger, have had many fills and hoping for another one when I go in on May 11th. I have found what helps me is adding another meal. Instead of a small snack of string cheese in the morning I will have my lunch and then another small meal around 2. Seems to help me, though I haven't had to do it the last few days.
  13. of course!! 14 months out and now know when to stop!
  14. it's not a matter of seeing how much you can eat. If that was the case, I could sure eat way more than I am supposed to. Some people have good restriction and it does limit how much they can eat. Unfortunately not the case for me. I weigh and measure everything I eat and that's all I get. Listen to your nutritionist, she knows what she is talking about!
  15. Only you can decide what you feel comfortable with. My first goal was 160 and to wear a size 12. I am 149 and wear a 6 but still want to get to 140. I want to be within the normal weight range for my height instead of overweight.
  16. ok, when I first had my lapband surgery and had to take a 6 week emotional eating class there was a lady who did not tell anyone except for her husband. And she did say it was from fear of her failing. Well, over a year later I am friends with her on facebook and I see her looking exactly the same. I feel like she set herself up for failure from the beginning. I'm not saying you have to tell the world, but you need to go into this surgery KNOWING it is going to be successful for you if you follow the rules. I feel like having people know at work helps keep me accountable to myself. It also helps that I work for my brother and he had it done a year before me!
  17. same here...weighed 151 in February, have been going between 150-155 ever since! I did get to 149 over a week ago and then went back up. Today I was 149 again, hoping to stay in the 140's for good now. I exercise at least 5 days a week, but staying low on calories has been tough now that the first year has gone by. I have been good on calories now for the 4 days. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and I!
  18. someone else earlier posted this same concern. No, you are not alone! You made the right decision for sure. It just takes a while to get to your greenzone. Hang in there!
  19. It took me 4 weeks to lose the first 13 pounds post surgery. I remember being discouraged too. But I plugged along journaling and keeping my calories close to 1000 a day for the first year. It will happen!
  20. I am right there with ya Honk on the carrots! Had either 4 or 5 baby carrots earlier this afternoon. I guess a little too fast because it took 2 hours for them to completely make their way through. I hadn't had them in a long time until this past weekend when I tried them again with about 1 T dressing and they went down fine. Not so fine without the dip!
  21. I have told everyone except for my hubby's mom, and 2 sisters and their families. I had my surgery more than a year ago, saw them at Christmas 75 pounds down and the only one who said anything was my MIL about 3 hours after we first got there! All I said is that I watch my calories, get my protein in, and exercise. Which is what I do, with a little help from the band!
  22. I still love to eat, that hasn't changed for me. I just eat way less than I used to and prob enjoy food more now because of it.
  23. woo hoo for you!
  24. you did it once, you WILL do it again! Good luck!
