Mental Hunger?

Okay so I feel that I am almost in the green zone with my band maybe one more small fill. My problem is that when I sit down to eat and my band tells me stop your full my brain seems to think I have not eaten enough and I need to try a couple more bites. I can usually eat a more and not get sick but I do get pretty uncomfortable like the food is setting in my throat. Then of course I get mad at myself. Its like I feel a need to pick after I am done eating. I don't know if I am trying to feel the same kind of full I felt before the band or what. Any one else go through this?

Okay.... what is sliming? I have read several posts with this term in them. We need a glossary of lap band terms at the front end of this forum, I think!!!

Yes that is exactly what sliming is. I've never had food come back up or vomited, but oh my mouth fills up with slimey saliva. I feel like a Bull Dog slobbering on a hot day LOL!

of course!! 14 months out and now know when to stop!

Almost daily...

All the time!! I am constantly asking myself "I am really hungry or is this head hunger?" I can't tell you how many times I've sat there sliming because I ate a bite too much because I was full yet because of head hunger kept eating.

Sliming is the term used for the production of excessive saliva that often accompanies a stuck episode. In order to try to move the food through the band, the body often produces extra saliva. Because the stuck food makes it impossible for all that "slime" to go down, it comes back up. :P

That sounds terrible!! Does this happen often???
