After Plateauing For Months I Am Now Too Tight
Not good to lose weight from not eating. You need to go in and get an unfill. I know it's a bummer, I have had to do it 2 times myself. Just had my refill today after the unfill 2 weeks ago. I felt immediate relief both times she took some out.

5 Sleeps To Go
I was hungry that first week! My dr gave me a booklet with all the information. I had 3 to 4 protein shakes a day, sugarfree Jello, posicles and broth. It was a tough 2 weeks for me. Today I started the 5 day pouch test and surprised I am doing fine on liquids only. If I could do 12 days of liquid postop before, I can do 2 days on the 5DPT!

Getting Stuck And Vomitting A Lot! Help!!
you say you are 5 weeks out from your first fill. When I was first banded I checked in every 2 weeks. I din;t get my first fill till 4 weeks, but then it was every 2 weeks after that. I would get in there just to be checked.

Getting Stuck And Vomitting A Lot! Help!!
www.5daypouchtest.com This is the 5-day plan that I have developed and used to determine if my pouch is working and return to that tight newbie feeling. And a bonus to this plan, it helps one get back to the basics of the weight loss surgery diet and it triggers weight loss. Also, it is not difficult to follow and if you are in a stage of carb-cycling it will break this pattern. Sounds pretty good, right?'' I want to make sure I don't cause myself problems after my next fill, so I will follow this plan. I usually only do soft foods the first day after a fill and I know I caused my own problems after the last fill.

How Often Does Your Doctor Fill?
My first 4 fills were 2 weeks apart. I would call and tell them that you want to come in.

Getting Stuck And Vomitting A Lot! Help!!
If you have been vomiting everyday, I would go in for a slight unfill. Your stomach is prob pretty swollen around that band. The first day that things were going slow and then I was starting to not be able to swallow saliva, I got right in. She took out the .4 she put in me the week before and I felt instant relief. Tomorrow I go back and this time will try .2 and follow the 5 day pouch test.

Pain 4 Weeks After Fill
I have heard that stress can make your band feel tighter? Did you hae any stuck issues where you had to try and cough anything up? I know when I have had to throw up a few times the band has gotten swollen around the stomach making anything hard to go down. After an unfill on 2 different occassions I felt better.

Quick Question
My dr said that I can drink now with meals. As long as it is a little sip and you wait between another bite as you would with food, you are fine. I always have water with dinner, I don't consume that much though. Also, I don't remember being given any restrictions on drinking beforehand.

Thinking About It...
I was the same way prior to surgery. I ate til I was stuffed at dinner time. Now with surgery I don't. I eat my measured amounts and it takes me 30-45 minutes where as before I could polish off a huge plate in under 10! A couple of weeks ago, I had about 1/2 cup of brown rice with my dinner. I normally eat 1/4 c of a starch. When I left the restaurant I got into my car and felt pretty stuffed. I thought to myself, I definitely do not miss that feeling anymore!

Any Suggestions For Liquid Diet???
I wouldn't do peanut butter, but maybe try a cream based soup. I remember eating a bowl of brocolli cheese soup during my 2 week postop diet. I didn't eat the big brocolli pieces but maybe a little fat will help.

Hunger, Full, Or Overfull???
could be gas, which is normal.

It's Safe To Come Out Now
I KNOW you can do it! I am sure everyone has those kind of days at one point. It gets frustating when you are doing everything right and scale doesn't budge. Heck, I get mad when it doesn't budge but I know I haven't been as good as I have been! I am glad to hear that you are having a better day!

Riddle Me This Batman..
You may not eat less, but hopefully you will go longer between feeling hungry.

Stuck?
No problem with ham here, I love it! But what I do for chicken breast, tritip or any other roast is use my carving knife and slice everything almost deli thin. I never have a problem if I am able to do that if I am at home.
-
Stuck?
Yes, with chicken too. I tend to favor putting thighs in the crock pot now instead of breasts. Maybe give that a try. Chicken breast the next day is definitely not good with me! I do eat canned chicken breast with a little mayo and have no problem with that eating it cold.

Need Help! !
I agree with Cazzy. You aren't a failure. If you didn't have the surgery you could possibly be 50+ pounds heavier than you are now. Put on your big girl panties and take control of the situation! Get in and see your dr if it's time for a fill. Start logging what you are eating if you haven't been. You can do it!

Who Was Banded 1 Year Ago? How Are You Doing Today?
Kiskis, you prob don't have a slip. From getting stuck, your stomach is prob just swollen. That's what happened to me last week. 2 weeks ago she gave me .4 cc and a week later I had to have it removed. I did feel like some things were sticking and I tried numerous times on different occassions to get stuff up. So I am sure that's what happened to me. I go back next Tuesday and will try .2 cc. Going to try and do the 5 day pouch test at that time too.

I May Be Allergic To The Band...
wow, that will be a bummer if that is the case. I have to say though, when I first got my cpap machine I got sores around my nose as well. I ended up putting on a couple of bandaids for some cushion between the mask and my face and that helped alot.

Frustrated - Plateau & No Restriction
ok, you are doing great. And if you have averaged 10 pounds a month, that is amazing! I wish I hadn't left my journal at home today so I could look at my monthly results. I have lost anywhere from 0-13 pounds in one month. These last few months I average prob 3-5 a month. Don't beat yourself off. It WILL come off!

Calories In V. Calories Out Is B&#%!$@!t
well, I can relate. I went away for 5 days and gained 5 pounds. I didn't eat an additional 3500 a day, that's for sure! but I did load up on carbs and salt. I have had really good weeks of eating and exercising and not see the scale budge much. Then one week I would drop 3 or 4 pounds. It will come off, just keep up what you are doing. I know it's frustrating and I have been there plenty of times!
