  1. Wow - what a great story! I am so happy for you. Congratulations! Too bad your boyfriend didn't have it done with you. That would have been great. Maybe when he sees your progress and happiness - he will join the lapband wagon. Keep us posted on your progress and you will surely find this forum full of other banders willing to put their feelings out there to help others too. It is great. If I can be of any help to you please message me any time. Good luck. :)

  2. Hi Shonette! I am so sorry to hear you have been going through a rough time. I hope now that you had an unfill that you will start improving and feeling better. I get a little heartburn as well every now and then. I don't like it because it reminds me of my old life. I never have that problem unless I eat a lil more than I should though. Yesterday I had an episode of throwing up too and man how horrbile is that? My throat hurt all night long. I was so afraid I did damage to the band. I sure hope not. I feel much better today. You are right. Us banders sure do go through alot. If people only knew! Well I will be thinking about you - take care and keep posting! :)

  3. I forgot to tell you that when you get bored, maybe check out Lapband.com by Emmi systems. It is a wonderful website that you can write yourself daily journals and print them out to keep track of your lapband journey. You could even print them out and make yourself a book on your journey. It also tracks your wt. loss with a ticker, and food journeys, mood tracks, exercise, loads of recipes, support, and videos to watch of your band journey. It is wonderful. Check it out. :)

  4. Yes you are right. I have switched to smaller child size plates, cups, and some others have even used child sized utensils. It is less frustrating. And it does make your mind feel like you are eating more if your child size plate is full rather than your adult size plate almost bare. lol. I also purchased a rocket type blender which is small but powerful. It has a small container that is just the right size for the shakes and when you only want to blend up small amts. of food. Less work cleaning it up too. You are right about needing a hobby. The busier you keep yourself, the less time you have to think about food and being hungry. And exercise is def a must. Whether it be a walk outside around the neighborhood or whatever. It helps to clear your mind too. The only advice I would give you - is to not weigh yourself so much. It can become addicting. It is best to weigh yourself once a wk. at the same day and time if you can. It will be hard at first, but once you get used to it, you will be less frustrated. And it keeps you excited wondering just how much you lost. Good luck to you. :)

  5. It seems the sweet spot is hard to find. I have had 2 fills and yet I still feel like I can eat more than what I am supposed to eat and more often. It takes constant control on my part to not do so. Yet other banders say they have found that sweet spot and have good restriction. So I guess it all has to do with your own individual body. Some are luckier than others I guess. But I would say maybe go in for just a little fill like 1/4 or 1/2 cc fill and see if it changes anything for you. Nothing worse than waiting - when you want results now, huh? I think we have all been there. Good luck to you and keep us posted. :)

  6. HI there! I was wondering if you could please post your "red carpet ready cake recipe" again. I lost it and wanted to make it. Sounds yummy and as I remember - it was so low cal. My hubby likes his sweets, but he is dieting with me. So I thought this would be a nice occasional treat for the both of us. Thank you! I enjoy your posts! :)

  7. It is a rough journey for sure! But make no mistake - it is do able!!! Just read some of the forums. This is where you will get your strength and inspiration. So many good people on here willing to help you and share their experiences. I hope you will continue to post as well. Good luck to you and take care. :)

  8. Yah - you're not alone on that one! I think alot of us banders have that same problem. It will probably take a long time to undue bad habits that we formed over such a long time. But one day at a time I guess. Some days are harder than others. For sure. :(

  9. Boy have we all not been there done that! lol It felt good at the moment to eat those things though huh? But gee the guilt afterwards is just aweful. Then to have to deal with the scale. You have to ask yourself - gee is it really worth going through all that for? I fell off the band wagon so to speak just not too long ago. I am back on it now though. What a rude awakening. Ha ha. Why does life have to be such a struggle all the time? :(

  10. 4 cc is alot for a first fill. I only got 1/2 cc for my first fill. I have a 10 cc band as well. It is best to take it slow. If you overfill, you will have problems it seems. I am hoping to get another fill in a week. It has been a month waiting for it though. I guess it will be 1 cc this time. Not sure, but my surgeon seems to be very conservative. Good luck.:)
