What foods can't you eat?
Doughy bread is bad. Tortillas or wraps as well. You'd think a wrap would be good, but it's just bad lol!

Help! Vacation
I went away shortly after being banded too and soup was my best friend! I agree though, avoid the potatoes! Try to stay relaxed too. I notice if I'm anxious about food, I'm more likely to get stuck. Take a deep breath and enjoy the company! I usually eat something before I go out and then order a cup of soup and water or iced tea (no straw) and pick at the food. I go out now to socialize and the food is secondary.

Empty lap band no slip can't tolerate food
I can't believe it! Lol! I started taking zyrtec and some micinex and using the netipot. I can't believe what a difference it's made! I'm so relieved that it's not a serious issue too! I was so worried about losing my band!

my daughter took a dive on my stomach
My son did that to me about 2-3 weeks post op. I thought for sure there was something dislodged, but the dr said everything was in the right spot! I was sore for a few days, but back to normal soon after. Good luck!

NSV
Wow! Great job! I was on vacation and realized that most of what I packed was too big. I ran in to Fashion Bug to get a pair of shorts and as I entered the sales lady asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I told her I needed a pair of shorts and she said "well your looking in the plus sized section, you'll need to look over here" and gestured toward the "regular" sizes. I was shocked and she was right! The 14s fit perfect! It's weird that I didn't recognize how much I've lost until that moment! Yay!

Empty lap band no slip can't tolerate food
Thank you all for your responses. I saw my surgeon on Tuesday and he sent me to have an ultrasound on my gall bladder and scheduled an endoscopy, which I had yesterday. My gall bladder is normal, no stones or anything and he said everything looks good with the endoscopy too, but I had a lot of mucus. I don't know if he just pushed it through or sucked it out, but I was starving by midday yesterday and I was not in my right mind and I just ate some crackers and I kept them down! I have no idea how or why this is happening, but I'm so happy! If it really is because of all of the mucus that was in there then I will need to make sure I don't get so filled up again. My husband got me a neti pot, zyrtec and mucinex to try. I did try the neti pot last night, but I haven't tried the others. Could all of this be caused by some stuck mucus?? I can't wait see me dr for my follow up!

Empty lap band no slip can't tolerate food
Hi all! Just wanted to give an update. I saw my psychologist and he doesn't think this is a mental thing. I have an appointment with my surgeon on Tuesday, so hopefully he can figure out what is going on. I'm still on liquids only, although, today was a really good day and I had some yogurt and a medifast shake! I was so excited! I'll update again after I see the surgeon. Thank you all for your advice and support!

Thank you so much! I will schedule an appointment with my psychologist as well. I haven't even considered that as an option. Thanks for the link as well. I'll look at it now!

Empty lap band no slip can't tolerate food
I can't keep any solid food down, not yogurt, pudding, nothing... Ugh! I don't feel like the dr is leaving me high and dry, not yet anyways. They will have to do something because I can't live like this forever!

Empty lap band no slip can't tolerate food
They first thought my allergies were the cause. I have never experienced vomiting from allergies, but I figured they know what they are doing. They seem kind of confused now too. They thought I'd feel better after the unfill, but it brought no relief. I had been on a liquid diet for weeks, so when they called to give me the results of my upper GI they said to try to eat something solid. So I made tilapia for dinner, I was able to tolerate it before and it's soft so I figured it was a good "first meal". I'm supposed to call them tomorrow and report my intolerance and schedule an appointment with my surgeon. Thanks for the story about Mandy. I hope I don't have an infection! I don't feel sick in any other way, but who knows! Thanks for your quick responses!!

Empty lap band no slip can't tolerate food
Hi all. About 6 weeks ago I noticed out of nowhere that my band was too tight. I had an unfill and after 2 weeks was still too tight. Went in for another unfill and they completely drained my band. I had an upper GI series on Monday that showed my band has not slipped. I still can't tolerate even the smallest solid food. has anyone one had this problem? The dr said I should be able to eat like I don't have a band (I obviously don't want to lol!) but after 2-3 tiny bites of baked tilapia I'm in the bathroom heaving. I don't know what to do! Thanks for you help!

Need recommendations for tracking nutrition and exercise
I like weight watchers, but I love the program too. I sort of follow points plus, I never eat all of my point tho!

Trouble Sleeping
I slept on my side right away. I propped myself with pillows behind my back and in front of me. I guess you have to do what works for you!

removal of the lapband
Wow! Congrats on such a great loss!! You should see if you can get a consultation with a surgeon and see what they say. I personally would keep mine, but you need to do what is right for you and if that means having your band removed, then that is your choice. It won't hurt to talk to a surgeon, the worst that could happen is they say no. Maybe they would recommend someone else for you to see. Good luck and again congrats on your incredible loss!

anybody have a slip fixed by surgery?
I'm hoping that it's quick. I feel like I haven't eaten in forever! I'm losing weight, but this is not how I hoped it would be lol! I'm on all liquids now, so I do hot liquids in the morning and cold in the evening. I'm not having much of a problem with liquids, but I can't do yogurt or pudding or anything like that. I really don't want to have surgery again. It just wasn't in my plans! Lol! Mauraclegg, you can eat French fries?!? I have never been able to eat carbs. I wonder if I've been too tight this whole time! I hate being stuck in public! Good luck to you!!! :-)

Finally Turning the Corner
Hi Apple! I'm having the same problem! My band is empty, but I can't keep anything down! I'm going for an upper GI on Tuesday. I'm glad you're feeling better! It gives me hope! Did your dr say why he thinks you weren't able to eat?

? Am I to full?
You're definitely too tight! I was too tight and waited 2 weeks for things to settle down and was throwing up all of the time. I went in for an unfill and still was throwing up, finally went in and had a complete unfill and I'm still throwing up. They think I slipped my band with all of the throwing up! Now I am scheduled for an upper GI to confirm it and I'm on liquids until further notice. My suggestion is put yourself on liquids and avoid throwing up! Call your doc on Monday!

anybody have a slip fixed by surgery?
My dr thinks my band slipped and I'm scheduled for an Upper GI on Tuesday. If it is a slip (I'm pretty sure it is) how long before they schedule surgery to fix it? Is that usually something they want to do quickly? I'm really feeling done with the whole barfing thing and I've been on liquids for 2 weeks (self diagnosed a slip). My band has been empty for 3 weeks!

Upper Back Pain
Omg! Im having the same problem! I didn't think the back pain was from the band, but mine is in the same spot as yours. I'm seeing my dr on Thursday. I'm worried that my band has slipped.

Band Slippage?
I was banded on 12/15/11 and had my first fill on 1/15/11. I was going along fine until about a month ago. I just started to feel too tight, so I went into the Drs and had an unfill. Still too tight. I returned 2 weeks later and the removed all of the fluid, so I have an empty band. I can't keep anything down, not even pudding or yogurt. I don't really have any other symptoms besides a sore throat from all of the vomiting. Im going back to the Drs later this week to see what the next step is. Does this sound like a band slip? If I did have a slip, what are my options? Thanks!!

Hypo-Thyroid Bandsters
I'm also hypothyroid and was banded on 12/15/11. I have lost 23 pounds since then. It's been a long road and I have a long way to go, but I am happy with my progress. I'm losing 1 pound or a little more each week, I feel good, I look good and I'm doing this the healthy way. We knew this wasn't going to be easy, if we were looking for the easy way out we would've had lipo! You're doing great! Don't beat yourself up! Look at how far you've come!

can you believe she actually said this out loud!!
Wow! Some people are messed up! You will definitely find out who your true friends are throughout this experience! I have one friend who just stopped speaking to me. I heard from a friend that we have in common that it's bc I weigh less than she does. I tried to call her so we can talk about this, but she declines my calls and doesn't return her messages! I have another friend who apologizes everytime she eats in front of me! Lol! It really doesn't bother me if other people eat! I did this for me, not to change the eating habits of my friends!
