  1. NSV

MOMW posted a blog entry in New Christmas Outfit
I finally took my rings in to be resized. After 65 pounds, they were a tad loose. I was surprised when they took them down a full size. I just got them back and of course they are so pretty when they are all polished up, but I was amazed at the size. They are little! Who knew I had small fingers. Put a smile on my face today.

Yoplait frozen greek yogurt is pretty good too statwise. But, I am definately going to look the Health Choice too when I go grocery shopping this week. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Thanks for the great info! I know I have found that so many nonbariatric physicians are just not as informed on our needs as we need them to be. Thanks!
  4. I think what you need to do is get a hold of your bariatric team and be honest with them. They have the medical knowledge to help you figure out what is really going on and what needs to be done. I can understand your frustration, but sometimes trying to diagnosis ourself is worse that finding the real cause and eliminating the stress of the unknown. Good luck, Hope you feel better soon. Congrats too on your wonderful results!
  5. Wow I am surprised that require a bmi of 50. Most ot them are 40. Good luck!!
  6. Have a great time!! Just imagine how much better this vacation will be without the extra weigh. I know my first plane ride after my surgery was exciting as I was so much more comfortable in the seat and had to tighten my seatbelt even more. Flaunt that new body. You have worked for it.
  7. I too am 7 months out and had Christmas with my family last night. It was fabulous to be the smallest woman in the family instead of the largest! This truely is a great Christmas that each of us have given ourselves, our bodies.
  8. Congratulations. That experience is so uplifting. Enjoy it!!
  9. I decided that Christmas is the best time to treat myself to a new outfit that fits my new size. I also am going to the in-laws and have not seen most of these people in year, so I want to knock their socks off. I knew I wanted something out of my comfort zone, and I did. It was fun to know that I could go into any shop in the mall and find clothes that fit me for the first time in my life. Even though I felt overwhelmed by all the options. I now understand how young girls and thin people can spend so much time shopping for the right outfit. I also know that I have no sense of fashion, so I asked for help. What an eye opening experience. I have not completed by journey but this sure was a fun NSV, and I am going to look fabulous at the in-laws I hope each of you treat yourself to a new Christmas outfit that fits your new thinner you.
  10. My bariatric team siad that it did not need to be crushed if the pill size was the size of a pencil eraser. They crushed all of my mine in the hospital and it was horrible! I could stand taking my one capsule apart, my team said as long as I could take it with no probllems then I was fine.
  11. I too had the headache. It caught me by surprise too. Thankfully mine started when I was in the hospital and stayed an extra day. The one thing they tried was a caffeine pill. It noticed no major difference but they tried as many people can suffer with a headache depending on when they cut their caffeine off. I had been off for a month at that point. They also checked by blood pressure a lot. You may want to try that to see what is going on. In addtion the one thing that helped was a cold wash cloth over my eyes. It was the only way I could sleep for two days. I did take my perscribed pain med too - even though I did not need it for surgery pain, but it did cut the headache. Hope one of these helps. It was no fun!
  12. I am in my pureed stage too. My bariatric team said that it should be pureed to an applesauce consistency. I did baby food pureed with my lap band, but now with my sleeve, I have been using by blender to puree what ever I make for supper for the family, but if it is not enough protein, I will add cottage cheese. This really makes the differance. The taste is still there and is no where near as offensive.
  13. I am sorry to report that I no longer have my lap band. The recent bout I had with inability to keep anything down was the result of the slip of my lap band. My bariatric surgeon removed all my fluid Monday, so I could at least eat and drink something. Wednesday morning I had and upper GI that confirmed by band had slipped. I was rolled down to OR by early afternoon the same day to have my band removed. My surgeon now says that he would recommend not putting in another band as I had one slip, and in his history, the chances are high that it would happen again. In 8 weeks, I will have some sort of surgery to replace the band - he is talking a sleeve or bypass at this point. So much for being a great buddy. I have probably scared you all away now. Be assured though, my surgeon told me that I was one of the 4% who have their band slip. So keep on going. I am not giving up, but I am moving pretty slowly today.
  14. I would love to offer you any support or anything that I possible can. It helps us all to share. I see by your profile that you were just banded. Congrats on the decision. It is a great tool, but remember it is up to you to use it well. I cant wait to hear your story and hear how I can be the best support to you.
  15. Melissa, it would be my honor to be your buddy! I too can you use any help that I can get. I sure can relate on the lack of support. It is hard to so many to understand if they have not had the procedure. I can also relate to having the energy of little ones. I have the opportunity to watch my 2 grandsons at least 3 times a week. They are 5 and almost 3, and they too have the energy. It is definately hard to take care of yourself when you have their demands and all the other demands of life. But, you have to at least try and remember to take time for yourself. Let me know how I can help.
