  1. Get some davicni or torini sf flavored syrups that people put in coffee. they come in every flavor you can think of. I like raspberry and peanut butter. I also like to mix in stevia to sweeten it or sf jam.
  2. it can be hard to get the veggies in. I know we're supposed to do protein first, but sometimes I eat veggies first for that exact reason.
  3. Zumba is giving me back and knee problems but I don't want to give it up!
  4. Oh I am glad you have some. I love that stuff. I think it's yummy but some people think it's too sweet. I have the muscle milk light.
  5. Way to go Norma! I haven't seen you here lately, so I was really glad to see your post!
  6. I saw an ad for the Almond Breeze in the newspaper. I want to find some of that! Hood carb countdown is good too. It has very few carbs. I use the chocolate to make my shakes.
  7. I can eat a little bit of ice cream, but more than just a little bit sends me to the rest room for several hours after that. I can eat cheese and yogurt, but I can't drink milk. Lactose intolerance is definitely one of the side effects from sleeve surgery. I don't know why cheese and yogurt don't seem to have the same effect as straight milk, but everything I have read about sleeve surgery talks about lactose intolerance becoming an issue for patients.
  8. I was weighed the day before surgey, when they did all my testing.
  9. It's pretty easy really, not to eat a lot of carbs. Stick to meat, eggs, cheese, and fish. I ate a lot of chicken salad, egg salad, tuna salad, ground turkey meat cooked with taco seasoning, and added a little cheese and sour cream on top. Greek yogurt does not have nearly the carb count as the other yogurts. I flavor them with sf syrup. I like to roll up a slice of virginia baked ham and a piece of cheese. You can put the flavored cream cheese on there too, if you like. Really, if you stay away from rice, Pasta, bread, etc, you can have just about anything else.
  10. It's very common to become lactose intolerant after sleeve surgery. That is one of the reasons I like mucsle milk. It's lactose free You can try lactaid, but more than likely, it's a case of liquids in liquids out during this stage. We all went through it.
  11. I didn't tell him. When he was in the kitchen getting drinks, I pushed most of my food on to his plate. I am not ready to spill the beans quite yet.I plan to stay under cover as long as I can!
  12. Sometimes it's hard to stay under cover. I am going over to dinner tomorrow to a guy's house I started dating. I am afraid I am going to have to tell him. I don't want to, but I think it would make things a lot easier.
  13. Stuck, I lost most of my weight with the band too. I lost lots of hair with band surgery and lots more with sleeve surgery, even though I hadn't gained that much back so I didn't have much weight to lose this time either. Maybe since you didn't lose hair with band surgery, you won't this time either. Hope, there is no way to know. My friend had sleeve surgery a week after me, and she didn't lose nearly as much hair as I have.
  14. I wish they would take that stinkin band off the market. I feel so bad for all the people when I go to my support group and they are all excited about getting a band. The best thing I ever did was have it taken out and getting the sleeve. I wish I had gotten the sleeve first, but I didn't know about it then.
  15. I buy flax seed at the health food store and grind them in a coffee grinder. I love them too. I put it in my yogurt, and in my protein shakes and anything else I think of.
  16. my daughter is off getting certified to become a Zumba instructor. We both love it so much! Now she will be able to do it for free. The gym is paying her travel expenses and Zumba certification. We can't get enough of it!
  17. I am a gum chewer as well. Just make absolutely sure you don't swallow it!
  18. you are going to love it there! They all treat their patients so well and Dr. Campos is sleeved too. I didn't need any help as I felt just great by the time I got home from the hospital. I hope you do too. Things to have when you get home, are sf popsicles, and hopefully you'll be able to stand some sort of protien drink to get some Protein post op. A lot of people don't like Isopure, but it's full of protein and I didn't think it was all that bad. It's not anything I would want long term, but for 10 days on clear liquid, I could handle it. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any other questions. I adore Dr. Aceves and everyone at that hospital. I would love to go back just for a visit!
  19. The difference between a 32 and a 36 really isn't that much. If you eat right and don't pig out on sugar and junk food, you will lose weight just like you have a 32.
  20. I used Nioxin shampoo and conditioner for 6 months after surgery and it didn't do anything for me, other than dry out my hair.
  21. I don't make Protein drinks with milk. I make them with Water or Half Hood Carb Countdown chocolate milk and half water. I didn't eat fruit when I was in the losing stage. I basically ate meat, cheese, eggs, and for snacks had sf popsicles or sf fudgesicles, or almonds. Almonds are very low carb. I started eating the Atkins way since the 1970's. I have been counting carbs all of my life. Believe me, it can be done. Once you get the carbs out of your life and out of your diet, it's pretty easy actually. Now that I am at goal, I eat anything I want. If I gain a couple of lbs, I go back to eating carb free and lose it immediately.
  22. Every single Protein drink that people say are too sweet for them are my favorites. All the ones that people say they like, I find taste really bland to me. So I would say, that I have not lost my sweet tooth at all. Being deficient in Vit D can cause sweet cravings, by the way. I have upped my vit D, but from the last tests I took, it was still low.
  23. I haven't seen my bf who broke my heart last August, but I'd love to see him while I am out on a date with someone else, now that I am a size 8!
  24. I've been told by others that they took all these things as well, and that it did not help. Hair loss is normal for weight loss surgery. If you read online about hair loss, it says it comes from a shock to the body, such as surgery, or weight loss. Everyone can try any supplements that they wish to try to prevent it, but I've read in other forums about people taking all these things, and lost hair anyway.
