  1. Don't worry. The sleeve will not let you overeat. It's extremely uncomfortable when you eat too much and you will learn quickly not to do it. That does not mean occasionally I eat some chocolate. My portions at meal times are so small that it doesn't seem to matter if I have a treat now and then. Another things is sugar makes me nauseous now. I can eat a little bit, but anymore than that, I feel sick! It's great, really.
  2. If you had a leak, you would be Dr. Aceves first one, so I really doubt that it is what is causing you the burning. Don't forget he did 3 leak tests before you left the hospital. I hope you feel better soon and I am sure this is a natural part of healing.
  3. There are a bunch of us who are band to sleeve revisions. We are all extremely happy to have the band out and living with the sleeve is effortless. I am glad most of my stomach is gone. All it did was make me fat. Getting rid of that band was the best thing I could have done for myself.
  4. You may have eaten too much without realizing it. When you are first moving to solids, you need to just eat a few bites and sit with it awhile and see how it's going to get along with your new tummy.

yeah, it's normal. I can remember when I could only eat a few bites. I was like Tiffy. I drank protein shakes or soft foods because eating solid protein was just too difficult. Now that I am almost a year post op, I do eat anything I want in small portions. I still can't eat a very big portion of meat, and I am fine with that. I eat until I am full and I know that if I eat more, I will be uncomfortable.
  6. Have you heard of body dysmorphic (sp?)disorder? It's when you're at a healthy weight but still see yourself as fat. Anyway, I think your body will stabilize at a weight it's happy with. As long as you don't feel like you're starving yourself and you're eating healthy, you're doing fine!
  7. I'm afraid to tell mine too. I know if my insurance company finds out, they will do whatever they have to do to blame WLS on anything and not cover it.
  8. It does take awhile for the ghrelin to leave your body. yes it will be easier when you move to mushies. Is your tummy growling or is it just a feeling of "that sounds really good" The diarrhea is very normal if you're on a liquid diet. you can take immodium if it gets bad.
  9. I don't like it. It's very gritty. I like Peanut Butter flavored sf syrups much better. I have Davinci and Torrini brands and I put them in my Protein shakes. I would suppose there are other things you can do with PB2. Supposedly they have recipes on their website and you can mix it with Water and make peanut butter out of it. I just buy reduced fat peanut butter. I will be curious what others have to say about it.
  10. I used GNC's brand of unflavored protein powder and I thought it was great.
  11. I think you should go to lapbandtalk.com and read the complications section. Believe me, the band is a nightmare to live with. The sleeve is effortless. I am glad my anatomy is forever changed. I don't ever want to be fat again.
  12. Tiffy don't you worry about a thing. It will all even out in the end when your body finds it's happy weight.Just eat what you want!
  13. The weight surgery is a true blessing. When I was heavy, I had profiles all over the online dating sites and was completely ignored. Even when I had lost most of my weight, my face still looked really fat in pictures. It wasn't until I lost that last 10 lbs that both of these guys responded to my profile on one of those sites. It was within a few days of each other that they contacted me. I started writing to both of them, thinking one of them would just disappear, cause that is what always happened in the past. But then both of them wanted to meet me, and now here I am, with both of them still wanting to go out. I don't feel close enough to either of them or feel like they feel that this is serious. That's why I want to wait and see how things develop. It does feel really good since I was so fat for so long, but still had the desire for a man in my life. I felt rejected for so long and it hurt when I would send someone a message on one of the sites and would either hear nothing back or get a "thanks but no thanks response"
  14. Let me make it clear that I am not sleeping with either one of them. I would not do that. I don't really see it as one of them will get dumped. I think it will come to a point where one or actually both of them will realize we are not right for each other.
  15. Thanks. I kind of feel like that too. Neither of them has asked if I am seeing someone else. They just assume I'm not. So far, they have not asked me out of the same night, so that part has worked out fine. One has two kids that he sees every other weekend, and we are not yet at the point where we feel the need for me to be introduced to them and that's fine with me. I really like spending time with both of them, and I would much rather see one of them if they ask, than sit home and do nothing. Watching tv gets old. I am going to keep this up until either I see it as a problem, or I decide I really don't like one of them. It's hard not to feel guilty though.
  16. I posted not long ago that I am seeing 2 guys at the same time. I thought by now I would be able to decide which one I like better. I like them both! They are different as night and day, and there are things I like about both of them. I don't really care, as long as they don't find out. It's so weird after being so heavy for so long, to have this happen now. good grief, I am 57 years old. I didn't date 2 guys at the same time even when I was a teenager. It's a really small town, and it would be easy for one of them to see me out with the other one. I have to be really careful. The funny part is that they both love to cook. They are always inviting me over for dinner. Neither of them knows about my surgery. Believe me, this is not easy! Oh well, I am going to have fun while it lasts. Who am I to argue when they invite me to a nice restaurant, right?:blushing:
  17. I hate to say it but I was afraid this was what would end up happening. My counts were over 4,000 Pancreatitis is almost always caused by gall bladder problems. I am glad you had it out and now you shouldn't have any more problems.
  18. I put unflavored protein powder in sf Hawaiian punch, sf kool-aide, sf poweraide and gatoraide.
  19. I've missed you Cajun! It seems you haven't been posting as much. I have really missed you in chat too. I am glad to read those 18's are getting big. It's so much fun and I am so happy for you!
  20. I post daily over there too. There are some good posts about doctors there and they are not being deleted the way they are here. I do not like the way every time my doctor's name is mentioned, it's hyperlinked so that another doctor's name pops up. Now even the country they practice out of is hyperlinked as well. That doctor must be paying a lot more for advertising.
  21. Your body needs a chance to catch up. It's fighting your because 30 lbs in 2 months is a lot of weight to lose that quickly. That's 15 lbs a month! You're doing great! I am sure your eating had to be a little off cause on vacation you can't eat like you can at home. Don't worry! The rest will come off. Watch your carb intake and it will come off and you'll feel great. I still looked really fat in pictures when I lost 75 lbs so I know the camera adds weight to us.
  22. Anna I am really glad you posted. I knew Dr.Campos and Dr. Aceves would take good care of you, but it was really good to read that you're feeling better.
  23. I've heard some people say they like body fortress that you can buy at Walmart.
  24. I am glad you remembered the bottled water Vegas. They must have brought some to me, because I had no trouble drinking my liquids. I just remember whatever they brought me, I drank it!
  25. yes, I work out for the same reasons you do. I enjoy it and I feel crumby when I don't go to the gym. you probably need to add back some good carbs. go online and read about low gylcemic index foods. Going to the nutritionist is probably a good idea too. I know adding back carbs is sometimes scary, but I was like you. It got to where I felt nauseous when I got to the gym so I added back a few good carbs and I am good to go!
