Leak?

Okay I hope you all tell me I'm just paranoid and we can laugh about it okay?

I still have a burning sensation as I swallow, even when I am trying to do small sips, am I still sipping too much, what does a leak actually feel like. I have been experiencing some discomfort, I wouldn't say pain, in my stomach. Paranoid? What does a leak actually feel like?

I am not a doctor, but I would think the discomfort is from the swelling and your body healing.

My surgeon said the 2 most obvious signs of a leak were high heart rate and fever. I was told to call immediately if I had those symptoms. If it would make you feel better, call your surgeon and discuss your symptoms. It never hurts to check.

Hi Wannalise,

I was sleeved on the 15 of March. I had the same feelings that you do. I am just 10 days ahead, but hang in there. It gets better and better everyday. Be sure to keep up with your antacid (previcid) or whatever you are taking. I no longer have any burning sensations. It just takes time. You can do it..

Thank you my friends! I actually am on so much medicine because of my seizure meds and supplements that I hadn't started the antacid yet, if that will help though I am gonna jump on it now!

If you had a leak, you would be Dr. Aceves first one, so I really doubt that it is what is causing you the burning. Don't forget he did 3 leak tests before you left the hospital.

I hope you feel better soon and I am sure this is a natural part of healing.
