  1. Firefox and it's weird. Normally, if I spell something wrong, there is a red line under it. For some reason when I post here, I never see a red line, even if I am not sure I spelled something right.
  2. Funny, I have never even heard of these. They really do sound handy. I will have to keep my eyes open.
  3. This is a really hard question to answer. The surgeons each have their own fee. Find out what it covers when researching which surgeon you want to do your surgery. Do you want to be in a hospital, in case of complications? Some surgeons send you to a recovery house, which is not a hospital.
  4. Hey, at least you're going! We get way more posts on here from people who haven't gone for days, and are uncomfortable. Frequent need to use of Miralax and Milk of Mag is another common complaint. Try experiementing with benefiber in your Water, and adding different vegetables to your diet. You are far enough out now that you should be able to eat a wider variety of veggies.
  5. you need to measure your food at this point. When I first started out, I used to eat these tiny cans of chicken salad. That seemed to be the perfect amount for me. That was what I used to measure food. If I was out and didn't have the measuring device with me, I had to picture (sounds gross) my food chewed up. Then I decided if that amount would fit in that can. A lot of people use a 1/3 or 1/2 cup to meaure. Eating with the sleeve is a learing experience. Find out how much you can comfortably eat, and then measure your food so that is the amount ( or less if you find yourself getting full sooner) you eat each time.
  6. I'm not surprised to hear about these injuries. When Zumba first started here, there were quite a few places holding the classes. Two places have closed down completely because so many people were gettng injured.
  7. www.obesityhelp.com is a good website. There is a lot of information there. As far as protein drinks go, you need to check out the food forum under protein drinks. There are places you can order samples. It's best to do samples until you settle on something you like. Most people end up liking something after surgery, than they liked before surgery so it's best not to stock up on a lot of anything. It depends on your BMI on whether or not you will have to drink them pre-op or for how long. You will definitely need them after surgery. If you have a costco, the Premier protein drinks seem to be something everyone agrees on and is extremely popular.
  8. Be careful with Zumba. You can get hurt in there and not even know it. I know people who have had stress fractures, and quite a few people who have blown out their knees, by twisting just right. I love Zumba. I am very uncoordinated, but I just do my best and have fun. The Zumba gold is too slow for me, but it's probably way better on my joints. Zumba really does hurt my neck, so I can't go as often as I would like to.
  9. Truvia is a brand of Stevia. Stevia is a plant. You can get it at Walmart, but I just buy Stevia.
  10. Those soups should be just fine. They aren't high in fat. Most of the people i know used those soups in cartons. I know there is a squash one.
  11. The ones I take are 5,000. They really haven't done anything, but I take them anyway. I guess I am afraid to find out what would happen with no biotin.
  12. Isopure is pretty awful. You can get it in single bottles at GNC and if you keep your receipt, you can take it back if you don't like it.
  13. Of course. We are all human. Nobody is perfect. If you do your best the MAJORITY of the time, you will do just fine.
  14. Across the top, I see bold, Italics, Underline, etc. All other message boards have an ABC or something to indicate a spell check. I thought I remembered Alex saying there was a spell check. I am not seeing it. Are there different versions here depending on which browser you use?
  15. The poster was probably banned because he broke some rules. When you sign up for an account here, you agree to follow the rules. If you don't follow the rules, you lose your account. Who knows if he broke a rule on this thread or another. The point is, this thread is no longer relevant.
  16. That's funny. I don't see any ads here at all.
  17. The Premeire Protein drinks are really good. I haven't heard of anyone not liking them. You get them at costco. They are 160 calories for 30 grams of Protein. They taste like choc. milk. Do you like tuna? tuna is very high in protein. So are eggs and cottage cheese.
  18. For most people, hair loss stops at about one year post op. You should be over the worst of it. Your Protein is not all that low. How tall are you? My nutritionist told me the taller you are, the more protein you need. I am 5'2" and she said I need 60 grams per day. A cup of plain ff greek yogurt has 23 grams of protein. I put Torrini's sf coconut syrup in it and it's pretty yummy . You can put sf cheese cake pudding in it too, and that's also very good. What kinds of things do you eat to get your protein. You asked for protein ideas, so it would help if we knew what you're already eating.
  19. If you started at 219, you aren't going to lose as fast as someone who started out at a higher weight. Plus you didn't say if you lost anything on a preop diet. Your body likes to get used to it's new weight before it decides to give up any more. Stalls are something we all go through. Onederland is when you weigh one hundred and something instead of two hundred and something.
  20. Dr. Aceves performs 3 leaks test before you leave the hospital. That is one of the reasons I choose him for my surgeon.
  21. I love Kellogs Multi grain fiber crackers. They are getting hard to find. I get them at K Mart, of all places. They aren't all that bad, carb wise either. I love to eat a few with a Babybell cheese (Light)
  22. I get the Oh Yeah bars at vitacost.com . I get everything there. Vitamins, soy crisps (yummy) Protein shakes. You name it, and they have it. it's usually the cheapest there too. Their shipping is free if you order $49 and my orders are always that much. The Power Crunch bars are really good too, but they are cheaper at Walmart.
  23. Living with the band is a nightmare. Living with the sleeve is like living a normal life. I can eat anything I want, in smaller portions. There is not one food I can't eat. I've been able to eat normally as soon as I progressed through the post op diet. I have never regretted having my band to sleeve revision. I am just glad I had it done as soon as I started having band problems. I know people who have had so much damage from the band, they had to have it removed and can't have any revision surgery.
